"Are you really going to cook it?" Elle asked, just as Emily was about to cut into the heart. With the sharpest knife, she had found in that apartment.

She paused, ready to reply Elle, before coming to a simple conclusion, to just ignore the girl. Otherwise the conversation won't end there.

She made a precise incision down the middle of the heart, exposing the intricate layers and veins within, each one containing shimmering, silvery fluid.

Strangely it didn't look disgusting to Emily, it actually looked enticing. At the back of her head, she started to wonder why was she even bothering to cook it. She could just eat it raw and as for the girl, why should she care?

But ultimately she came to her senses, because she knew why she did care. Above all else Emily wanted those who share her goal by her side. It might look like there are many of those around, because everyone's life has been ruined by the red moon.
