Not to return again

Neha realized the danger she was in. Her body froze with the events that was taking place. She could see the dragon rushing towards her from the sky with her wide eyes, yet her mind couldn't process the event that was happening in front of her.

When she processed what was happening, she had no time to jump as the dragon neared. Without getting up and diving into the sea as there was no time for that, she rolled herself from the rock into the sea.

It took some time for her to regain the control of her body. When she did, she looked up and saw the dragon coming again for her.

Before Neha has the time to swim away, the dragon tried to catch her again with its claw dipping into the water. It almost got her when Neha dived herself deep into the sea. Not looking back, she started to swim fast to her Kingdom with beating heart.

When the Dragon lost sight of her, without another thought, it turned into a human and jumped into the sea not wanting to lose the Mermaid. But Neha with the adrenaline pumping in her body swam faster than ever and already left that place.

The human spent good amount of time searching for her under the water. When he can't find her, he came out of the sea dripping wet and walked to the shore. He was handsome with sharp jaw and eyes that are mesmerizing to capture one's heart.

His toned muscles could easily attract attention. His walk was confident, and he has this powerful aura that surrounded him.

On reaching the shore, he turned and watched the sea for any sign of glittering blue. He opened his palm to see the few strands of blue hair in there. He clutched it and irritation passed through his eyes. He scanned the sea and waited for some more time. As nothing came into the view, he transformed into the dragon and took off into the sky.

From the sky, he stared into the sea one more time before he left the place.

When Neha reached near the Invisible boundaries of her kingdom, she closed her eyes and took deep breaths to calm her beating heart.

Neha looked around her inside the sea, what normally looked like a safe place now looked dangerous in her eyes now. She realized how silly she was to wander into an unknown place without any precautions or safety. She assured herself that she would never go to the shore again. Thinking about what happened today brought goosebumps in her body. She was relieved that she escaped alive.

With the thought in her mind, she stepped into her Kingdom to go to her palace. Once she reached the gates, she already planned what to do. She called her pet, nixie through her mind. Her pet Nixie was sleeping inside Neha's room in her bed. It is tiny and cute purple creature with the fins that are blue, and legs that looks like frog's fore limb. It has two antennae that are spongy above its head. It woke up by the Neha's call. The eyes are teal in color with black pupil.

Already aware of what to do, it swam to the front of palace and went straight where the guards are. The Guards who were looking at the front side didn't notice the small creature until it passed them and went some distance. As it is tiny, it can't be easily noticed.

On seeing nixie, the Guards called it to get its attention. But nixie purposefully swam faster on hearing guard's call. To stop it going any further, they moved from their place to catch it. Mer people were faster than these creatures as they were tiny in nature. So, Guards easily caught it.

While they were busy catching the Nixie, Neha entered into the palace without their notice. Once she entered the gates, she turned herself and acted as if she was trying to get to Nixie.

With smile, she reached the place where her pet and the guards were.

One of the Guards Thomas saw princess coming out of the palace and said, "Princess! It is not right to be up at this hour."

"Sorry Thomas, Nixie woke up from the nightmare and started running. Thanks for catching her." Neha said.

Though Thomas didn't say anything, Neha can see the look of doubt in his eyes. After all Neha can easily over run Nixie.

Neha added, "I went to fetch her favorite snack to console her after the nightmare, when I returned with it, she was not in the room."

"Please make sure you lock your room, so she is not coming outside next time. We are safer only within the boundaries of our kingdom. We might not know what is lurking outside the kingdom at this hour." Thomas said.

"We will be going back now." saying this Neha smiled and picked nixie and went inside the palace.

The guards watched her from their place to make sure she is going inside the palace.

Once they are inside her room, Neha and nixie laughed silently. Both of them sat on the bed. Neha patted Nixie and her thought went again to the things that happened today.

Her body shivered from the thought. She thanked sea goddess from her heart for the safe escape.

Realizing the danger outside her world that her people always tell, she swears to herself that she would not go out of the sea again.
