The Major Part 2

"At least we're together," he said, trying to calm himself and the others.

"Whatever you're trying to do, Cam, it isn't working!" Pierce said, walking away from the others. He took a seat in one of the chairs that surrounded the oval table in the middle of the room, eyeing his surroundings along with the others.

The parlour room was normal-sized. Its walls were decorated with beige wallpaper with designs of gold leaves. The furniture included four chairs around an oval coffee along with a velvet red settee facing the doors.

The boys each took a seat in one of the chairs, eyeing the glasses and water jug that had been placed on the table.

"Are you just going to stare at it, or grab a glass and pour yourselves some?" Sophie questioned the three of them as she took a seat on the couch. She reached across the table to grab one of the many glasses, pouring herself some water.

"I'll take one," Data whispered and took the glass Sophie held out to him.

Sophie offered glasses to Cam and Pierce who each took one, before leaning back into their chairs.

"So who do you think this Major is?" Data questioned as he finishes his glass of water. He looked up at the others, tapping the side of his glass from nerves.

"How are we supposed to know that, Data?" Pierce asked, his voice rising from annoyance. He moved forward in the chair and placed his glass back onto the coffee table a little too loudly.

"He's just trying to figure out what's going on, Pierce," Cam scolded him. "Data, we may not know who it is exactly but it does sound like the Major is of high rank wherever we are."

Data looked at the coffee table, his mind trying to figure out where it was that they were as Cam and Pierce both stood from their chairs. The two walked to the two windows on the other side of the small rectangle room, each gazing out one of the windows.

"We may not know who the Major is or what he could want with us but we do know we are where River Springs should be but instead is a town like from the nineteenth century," Cam says.

Data practically fell out of the chair he was in at Cam's words. He moved quickly to where Cam stood, staring out the window in amazement.

The town they were in was the size of River Springs only instead of houses and stores like they were used to; these homes were built like it was the nineteenth century.

"Where the hell are we?" Pierce whispered.

Sitting on the couch, staring at her glass of water, was Sophie, the boy's conversation in the back of her mind. Her main focus was on recent events. The werewolf, the invisible veil, the voice, the werewolf's death... It was giving her a headache.

'Why does she speak to me now? Why so long of a message now?' Sophie questioned herself, rubbing her forehead in pain.

Sophie had just turned her head to look at the boys but quickly looked over at the door at the sound of the lock turning. The doors were pushed open and in walked a man wearing white armour like the others only his helmet had gold wings attached to each side. The man removed the helmet and gave the four a serious look. "Sit," he ordered.

The boys exchanged a look then looked at Sophie. The three then walked to their respective chairs and eyed the man who now stood before them.

"I am Major Phillip Morgenstern," the man introduced himself, folding his hands behind his back. "And I am here to inquire what you all were doing in the forest when it is not allowed for children to be there alone."

Pierce eyed the Major, confused as to why it would be a law for children to not go into the forest, especially since they weren't children! Cam eyed the man too, more inquiring as to where he recognized the man from. Data and Sophie were looking at each other, silently trying to figure out if they should tell him that they weren't from around here.

"Answer me, children," he demanded, looking between the four of them. "Alright. Where are your parents?"

Data looked away from Sophie and stood from the chair, looking the Major in the eye as he said, "Major Morgenstern, our parents are not here."

The Major looked at the four of them with scrunched-up eyebrows, confused by what Data said. "If they are not here, then where are they?" He questioned, glancing between them.

"Truth. We were in the woods at night, saw a werewolf disappear behind an invisible veil and then we followed it and ended up waking up here, wherever the hell we are," Data told him, with very exaggerated hand gestures.

The Major appeared to not be surprised by what Data said. Instead, he appeared to be in fear.

He was silent for a few moments before he loudly called in a man named, "Lieutenant Ridley". The Lieutenant almost crashed through the doors by how fast he had run, gazing at the Major ready for whatever he ordered.

"Send word to the other clans. It has come," he ordered.
