The Non Existent Extra

Life is unfair. That's something I figured out when I was young. It's not just life but the world itself is unfair. I was an orphan who joined a game design company trying to survive. But I was fired when the owner's son wanted the damn job. Thankfully I had backup plans. However, all those were thrown out the window when I was thrust into the world of one of the stories I created. My first story. And honestly, I felt...happy. This was a place where I could take advantage of everything! I could live a peaceful yet rich life! All I had to do was follow the story. There was one problem though. I was an extra. And to add to that I had no memory of who I was. ___________ Ok so just a little disclaimer this is obviously based on The Author's POV but I did also base it mostly on ORV as well as IOAMI

Prosperity (2)

I looked at Elena who was sitting on one of the couches in the room "Please have a seat," she gestured toward the couch in front of her.

Sitting on it out of the corner of my eye I could make out her bodyguard or assistant standing with a displeased face.

"So you said you could cure me but before that how did you know about my condition?" she asked

A bitter smile formed on my face "Apologies but I can't share that info,"

'Not like I can tell you "Hey lady you were a character that died inside the novel I created!"

"And if you insist on knowing the healing would be off the table,"

She then let out a laugh "My aren't you quite brave?"

Despite the smile on her face, I could see her eyes turn cold "But tell me child how exactly do you plan on curing me,"

"That's quite simple actually," I smiled "I just need to copy your skill and use it on you,"

Indeed that was the only way that this would work. Prosperity is broken enough as it is but it can also heal a person's life force, soul and even more. Prosperity is something I desperately needed

-Slam!

"I've heard enough,"

I looked at her assistant Amanda who currently had a crimson glow surrounding her and her blade pointed at my neck.

Despite the pressure, however, I was unaffected causing me to internally frown.

'He's somewhere around here'

"Do you know what Prosperity even is!? Its-"

"Yea yea, it's her gift," I said waving my hand

People with gifts or "unique skills" as some people like to call them are valuable just because their skills can't be turned into skill cards. They are only for that one person to wield, not to mention that some of them are overpowered as hell! So I could understand why she was mad.

'But its a skill nevertheless'

"Listen, if I couldn't back up my words why would I be here?"

"Amanda," hearing her boss's voice her aura retracted and she put her sword away.

Looking at me with that same smile plastered on her face she started to speak "So you plan on curing me with my skill, correct?"

"Yes,"

There was a pause before she reached out her hand "Very well then,"

A bright golden glow surrounded her hand "Prove to me that your words are true,"

"Ms-!"

Seeing her assistant panic Elena gestured for her to calm down.

Smiling my vision started to change as my right eye turned golden. To copy a skill with my gift wasn't hard. It was like math. All I had to do was learn the formula and once I learned the formula I had to copy it like a magic spell.

Skills and spells were no different. To my gift anyway.

I then looked at my hands before a golden glow appear above them.

I heard a surprised gasp before I clenched my fist.

[Copy Result: Successful]

As Elena looked at the boy's hand that had a golden glow in it just a moment ago heart beat increased.

This was it! The chance for her to get rid of her condition!

That skill of hers was killing her slowly. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't find a cure or a way to slow down the consumption of life force. Knowing that your life was going to end at any moment and making sure your enemies don't know about the illness, would be quite stressful.

But now? There was a chance for her to survive.

"Now then shall we negotiate?" Hearing this a surprised expression appeared on her face "negotiate?"

"Yes,"

"What exactly do you want?"

As she asked that Elena calmly went over the situation.

'The simple fact that this boy can cure me gives him the right to negotiate with me. However, he seems to be in his teens. For someone so young to have the guts to face me the guild master of one of the top 5 guilds let alone try to negotiate with me…he's peaked my interest'

"I want the rights to the White Lotus guild's training facility,"

***

What I needed right now was a good place to train. Using the park was nice but it didn't help me with combat.

The facilities of the guilds have training dummies which can move on their own. This could also help me use my grade 3 technique.

"That's it?"

I nodded.

Even if I wanted more I didn't exactly want to risk a big butterfly effect. But I internally sneered at myself.

'What the hell am I talking about?'

From the moment I entered this world a strange feeling had settled in me. I couldn't explain what it was because I didn't even know what it even was. But the feeling drove me to help Elena. Even though I said I wanted the story to be the same that feeling made me contradict myself.

"I have a better idea," she said finally

"What do you mean by "better"?"

"How about you become part of the White Lotus Guild,"

I was taken aback by this offer. The White Lotus Guild was ranked number 4 in the human domain if I had joined a guild like that I could live in luxury for the rest of my life.

"Aren't you a bit too eager?" she seemed confused "Why would you say that?"

"Firstly I didn't even have my talent assessment yet and for all we know I could have the weakest talent,"

"That may be true however, you have the ability to cure me and you could also cure others with my gift. But it's not just that you can copy more gifts can't you?"

I shrugged "I don't know,"

"Besides if you awaken a high talent you'll be able to become a high-ranking figure in the Player's Association,"

'...'

"Fine," I scratched the back of my head "However, I want you to test my talent first then we can negotiate a deal,"

"Very well then,"

"Alright then let's get started," getting up from my seat I started the healing process.

Soon a bright warm golden light enveloped the room. But I could feel the mana drain from my body.

After a while, I let out a breath "That should do,"

I looked at Elena who was surprised. Suddenly a bright golden light enveloped the room. After it faded I saw that Elena was crying.

"I-it worked,"

However, I staggered a bit.

'Damn, I've used too much mana,'

I then saw her assistant Amanda bow toward me "I apologize for how I acted before,"

"Nah, it's fine I would've reacted the same way," waving off her apology I made my way to the door.

However, before I could I was stopped by Elena "Wait,"

"Yes?"

"Give me your contact info,"

Pulling out my phone I gave her my number "Would you like me to give you a ride?"

"That won't be necessary," I said while exiting the building.

'Now let's see where you are hiding'

***

"Amanda,"

"Yes miss,"

"Find me all the information you can about that kid and don't leave any detail out,"

"Yes ma'am," Bowing Amanda exited the room leaving Elena alone with her thoughts.

"I wonder if he'd take me on as his teacher?"

As I walked I looked around when I saw what I was looking for.

A calico cat.

Sitting next to it I stared into its brown eyes "So why are you following me?" I asked

"Meow?"

I stared at it blankly before I let out a sigh "See that cafe?" pointing at the cafe that was in front of me I turned back to it"Meet me there in 4 minutes,"

Getting up I walked into the cafe and made an order. Exactly four minutes on the dot a man came in. He was dressed in a plain black shirt and pants and his navy blue hair was tied into a ponytail. However, what made my eye twitch was his ridiculously handsome face.

Locking eyes with me I gestured toward the seat in front of me.

Sitting in it he crossed his arms as he looked at me up and down "How did you know I wasn't a regular cat?"

"My gift told me," I said calmly

"I see,"

"So mind telling me who you are?"

"My name is Alistair," he said simply "and I was the first disciple of Casimir Medici,"

I spit out the coffee I was drinking.
