Back in the classroom our teacher was telling us the prize for the 1st place winner. It was an artifact that when worn would boost a person's stats. The strength of the artifact depends on the species of the wearer.

It was a beautiful Jade bracelet. It weighed about 5 pounds which was rather uncomfortable to keep in my wrist for an extended period. I got a notification that I ignored because it would have me expose my ability.

I decided not to wear it until later tonight when I was alone.

The bell rang marking the end of the school day. Classes ran from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

As I was heading back to the dorm room I remembered that Gory was in the Med Bay. I headed over to see how he was doing and when he soukd be able to return. As much as I enjoy his company, I was hoping to be alone tonight.

I opened the door to the Med Bay and scanned the room. The nurse was tending to a student who was unconscious. I couldn't tell who it was, but judging by their uniform they were a second year.

"Hey Dakota, over here!" Gory was across the room and was calling me over. I ran over to where Gory was laying.

"Dude, you look like shit. How bad did she beat you?"

"You're a dick Dakota, you know that! One hit...that's all she took to beat me...and yet I hear you punched her across the arena. You're something else Dakota, I swear your too strong. What's your power level?"

"It's true that I beat her, but I had to use all of my power. My power level is only about 8300 or something like that."

"I knew it," a female voice shouted from the other side of the room. "You're not the weakest in the class. You're the the fifth strongest in the class."

The person who spoke was Lisa. She was also in the Med Bay but was in better shape than Gory, even though he can heal. She must have forgiven me for beating her...or she is trying to forget it. She signaled for me to go over to her. I told Gory I would be right back and he understood. I wasn't the only one to see her.

"I was gonna wait until I get out of the Med bay but I guess we can talk now. Let's go somewhere more private so that no one can eavesdrop." Lisa was being really secretive. Why didn't she want other people to know what we were talking about? What are we talking about? Not even I know.

She tried to stand up and walk but she was still weak. She stumbled and fell, but I caught her in before she hit the ground. She was lighter than I thought. "Are you ok?" I asked. She turned her face away from me and mumbled something that I couldn't hear. "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?" She simply shook her head no.

I let her use me for support while we looked for a place to talk. Everyone we walked by was staring at me with envy but I didn't know why. I was just helping a injured girl around.

She kept her head down and didn't say a word the entire time we were walking. I finally found a spot quiet enough to talk. It was behind the school where almost no one ventured as there was nothing there. I let her go and she sat down, I decided to sit next to her to make it easier for when we have to leave. I wouldn't have to walk as far.

"What was it that you wanted to talk to me about Lisa?" When I asked her she finally looked up. There were tears in her eyes. At first I thought it was because she was embarrassed for being walked around the school with everyone looking at her.

"I..I'm sorry," she said. "I'm sorry...for how I treated you... like you were nothing. I was the strongest and I wanted everyone to know that...so I made it a goal of mine to show how strong I am by using you as a comparison. I told so many people about you."

I had no idea where this was coming from or where it was going, but I could tell she wasn't lying. If she was, she would be the best actress in the world. Those tears were real.

"I was the one who spread the rumors about you being a monster. I told some other kids who were strong and eventually the entire school knew. I'm sorry Dakota."

I was lost in my thoughts. I didn't know how to process the information. Suddenly I felt Lisa hug me. She was still crying and talking but k couldn't understand what she was saying anymore. It all sounds like she was breathing with sounds.

"It's alright Lisa, I don't really care about that. Most people will steer clear of me and that's just an advantage. I will be able to walk the halls with ease. So don't worry your perfectly fine. Plus this is not the behavior of the next in line for the Silverking family."

I assured her that it was ok, I really didn't care about what other people thought of me as long as they didn't confront me.

Lisa has stopped crying at this point and has calmed down. "You really are an idiot aren't you?" She gave a quick chuckle before continuing, "If a person defeats a member of a noble or royal family that is of the opposite sex, that person will be the husband or wife of the one they defeat. If they are of the same sex then you either become brothers or sisters."

"That's weird, I have never heard of that rule," I replied. "Let's hope that you never lose cause that would suck." I gave a amused laugh as I didn't think she would ever be defeated by someone.

The rules of this world are strange. They will take some time to get used to, but for now I will need to get stronger so I can be a role model for all people who were once weak.

"WAIT WHAT?" I finally realized what that meant. Since I defeated her, that means...I'll be her husband.

She laughed out loud as she realized I finally figured it out. This meant that I would marry her and be part of a noble family.
