The Mystic Spider

What if...MCU Ned Leed wasn't who he was and New York had two different arachnid theme super human protecting the city? This is my first work and second attempt at rehashing an already established property to fit my liking. The first attempt is the same story but non edited and rough at some angles and entirely in the wrong genre. If you like this concept, feel free to save this novel and follow my journey of butchering some of my favorite MCU movies and marvel story lines All intellectual properties belong to their perspective company, this is just for shits and giggles, nothing more.

Week One Part 3

Honestly I think I've seen and read too many shonen stories in my previous life because I thought this was going to be an easy and basic as fuck story full of helpful plot armor and convenient writing that will help me proceed through my life on easy difficulty. BUT NOPE! It just has to be.

Mehh...

Yeah that's about what I can say about it. So far it's not that easy but it's also not that hard. By just focusing on myself and my studies, this whole week felt like it flew in just a blink of an eye. On the third day it was more or less just the same as the previous day. The instructor demonstrated the same spell as the previous day and instructed us to copy and try to recreate his spell through practicing his gestures. We kept practicing the motion and chant while some of the teachers that were eating near me stood by and watched. This includes the Ancient One and Master Kaecilius. At first I was a bit nervous but I just tried to focus and practice the motion as best as I could. I never felt a spark or anything but I tried my best to visualize the spell. One that I had seen with my very own eyes. Now with the help of witnessing the magic in person it became a whole lot easier for me to imagine the spell in my mind. However I just can't seem to produce any spark. Through out the whole session I could not produce anything but sweats and muscle strain. At the beginning of the class there were only a handful of people that couple summon sparks to create a singular circle of the spell. By the end of the session, there were a few more people who join the group that could produce the first initial circle of the spell. I however had not graduated onto sparkvile yet.

Lunch was quick and uninteresting. I moved back to sit with James and Sara. I told them about what happened that morning and they both shared a laugh as they were just walking about how weird it was that a bunch of teachers suddenly became silent during breakfast. Then I proceeded to ask them for help on me learning how to create my first spark so I can draw a magic circle. They gave me some tips but it was the best they could do until later tonight as we all had classes to attend. The day went on pretty quick once lunch was over and it was time for my class to resume.

On my third day of class, spent the afternoon learning martial arts and how to do hands to hand combat. We were paired with a partner in accordance to our builds and experience. However, since I am so young and small they could only paired me with the next youngest student. Rachel is a woman in the early thirties and reading her body language as well as clues on her hand and body, I could tell that she had a little experience with fighting during this portion of class but had never really gotten the chance to unleash the fire of her untapped potential. Well maybe I'm reading too much into it but looking back I swear she had some fire behind those eyes of hers. But when she speaks it's a completely different person. She's very soft spoken and modest...almost to a frightening degree.

Well anyways during the first portion of the class, we practiced the poses and strikes that the instructor demonstrated for us. After a couple hours of doing so, we switched up and we're paired with a partner to try to putting our new moves into action. I had never really spared with a grown adult before so at first it felt a little awkward so I had to test the waters. First it was to play with Rachel just a little bit by making sure her punches don't land on me but mine does on her. Each time she would throw and strike and miss, she would get a little annoyed. Then each time she gets hit by me, my lunches starts getting harder and harder, causing her to get even more annoyed. I would test Rachel to her limit by playing with her inexperience with actually fighting and using her untapped bottled anger to irritate her to a long simmering point. All of this while making sure that we are both actually learning the new moves and not breaking any of the rules.

By dinner time she was fumming but still hasn't blown over. Maybe she felt conflicted about hitting a child, but this child certainly did not feel any conflict about treating her like another student for him to train and gauge his skills with. Dinner time was a simple choice between lamb curry or kwati dal. It went by rather quickly and uneventful which allowed me to train and practice with James and Sara sooner than I thought. They guided me through the creation of a magic circle and we went through the motion of creating a basic spell for almost an hour before we all went back to continue our studies. I finished that day with a shower and spent the rest of the night reading until it was time for bed.

Day Four is uneventful and a blur. After breakfast we practiced the same spell and one more person graduated into the first spark group. This went on until lunch time and then after lunch was just a lecture about the origin of the mystic arts. The teachers spoke about The Great Aggomoto and how he created the school then some history about the beginning of the school. Afterwards we practiced more spell creation until dinner time. After that I spent the rest of my night just going through my book and rereading the parts I couldn't understand when I read it the first time.

Day Five was the end of the weekdays. The instructor had asked us to report on our assignment and assess our understanding of the current magic circle that he had been teaching all week. When I was my turn to demonstrate what I had learned, I could not produce a lick of spark at all. But I was able to restate the book and the process of creating the spell he's been teaching us without fail. He gave me a pass for understanding the spell but said I need to work hard on practicing to be able to produce the spell. The meals weren't really eventful either, just me trying to eat with some of the younger/newer students. I eventually got to meet more of them and I got to speak with Rachel once more. I think I might be fine now but I think I could still see a little fire behind her eyes everytime we made eye contact. The entire afternoon was free time for students to practice on their own and spend the time on anything magic related until dinner and bedtime. Since I had finished my book I spent the evening going through the motion of creating a spell for hours without rest.

Day Six and Day Seven we just me going through the motions with little to almost no break in my practice. In the morning I would wake up and begin going through the motion of the spell until breakfast time then I would keep going after breakfast had been served. I would skip lunch and continue of practice until dinner time which I would grab a small and simple meal before heading back intoy room to practice some more. Until I can produce a spark, I will not do anything else on my free time if I don't have a new concept of magic or subject I need to study about first. I even in my dreams I would try to go through the motion of creating the spell and it felt so real. In my mind I can imagine the most realistic spell in my hands but I just can't seem to replicate it in real life. During my dreams I would go through the routines and form circles after circles after circles. Each circle taking the same speed, time, and consistency to create time so that I can always produce the same desire spell that I need, everytime that I need it. Now I could only form them in my head and dreams but I still tried to keep everything the same motion and fluidity.
