The Mystic Spider

What if...MCU Ned Leed wasn't who he was and New York had two different arachnid theme super human protecting the city? This is my first work and second attempt at rehashing an already established property to fit my liking. The first attempt is the same story but non edited and rough at some angles and entirely in the wrong genre. If you like this concept, feel free to save this novel and follow my journey of butchering some of my favorite MCU movies and marvel story lines All intellectual properties belong to their perspective company, this is just for shits and giggles, nothing more.

Month Seven Part 3

Seeing how I don't have anymore training or students to help out I think going to the library wouldn't be such a bad idea. Hell it's about time I return my current book for a new one anyways, I've already gone through it enough and I can only write so many notes before I start copying the book word for word. I head towards my bedroom to grab the book of transmuting elementals so that I can return it. Along the way I bumped into an old friend of mine that I haven't talked to in a while. It's Sara but she's with someone else. A smile slowly grew on my face as I made eye contact with Sara, I gave her a wave of my eyebrows before quickly leaving her and Wong together. I think she tries to say something but I could read the sparks of wonders that her eyes were giving off. Well that, and Wong was also giving her the same eyes that she was giving him.

After grabbing my book I head straight to the library to begin browsing the shelves. Since I come here so often and I've been made a special exception to the rules, the librarian allows me to wander in the library without much supervision. I've yet to show any signs of wanting to get too far ahead. No instead of trying to rush my education as fast as I can, I am one of the handful of students that try to understand everything about one section first before moving on. Even though I've been given the privilege to browse at my leisure, I still ask the librarian for help and try to make connections with him. I mean what harm can occur if you're asking a teacher to help give you extra homework?

Anyways I dropped off the books at the desk before heading deeper into my enchanted forest of bound paper and leather. I quickly move through the maze of the library before getting to the shelf that I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. I gaze over the books I've already finished from this section before my eye landed on the last book on the shelf. I've been saving this book for last because I wanted to try and work myself up to subjects that are hidden within its pages. This particular leather bound encyclopedia of a book is called 'Viewing The Multiverse Through The Lens Of A Sorcerer' I reach out and slowly pull on the spine slightly so it will tilt down and outwards. I quickly glance around to see if anyone is nearby before fully pulling out the journal.

I'm pretty sure that I'm not quite qualified to learn more about the multiverse just yet but this PROBABLY won't count right? Anyways I bring the text with me to a table near the front of the library so that I can read the journal without raising any suspicion. There's this saying that I've heard someone said before. If you're going to do something dumb or illegal, either do it where no one can see it or do it where everyone will ignore it. I place the book on the table before sitting in the chair with my back to the wall. This way I can keep an eye out for the librarian just in case anything happens. I crack open the volume of pages and begin reading through the texts.

While there is no real way for anyone to travel through the multiverse, at least not in my current era, there is proof of such a thing existing around us. As sorcerers the very first thing we did when we began our journey down the path of mysticism was to open our minds and forget all the rules and limitations of our previous life. Now after years of training and studying the mystic arts, why would the same way of thinking not be applied to the multiverse? In the book of Cagliostro it mentions the Eye of Agamotto and the many powerful temporal spells such relic can create. When using temporal magic, each iteration of the spell can and will creates a new and separate reality which in turns creates a new branch of the timeline. That is one example of the multiverse working around us. Whether you or I are involve with the process or not, the multiverse will continue to split indefinitely as you and I continue with our lives.

Another proof of the multiverse's existence, is the entity Dormammu. According to the records left behind by Master Cagliostro, Dormammu is a being of infinite power that rules over the Dark dimension. A dimension that holds and continues to engulf worlds from other universes. To step outside of the pages of Cagliostro is the Darkhold. While the text holds many forbidden spells that any sorcerer with a speck of self righteousness or dignity would never practice, it does contain a spell that allows one to peer into the multiverse. The spell 'Dreamwalking' like the rest of the spells within the Darkhold is a wicked and very sinister spell, however it does allow one to view the multiverse through the eyes and body of another universe's counterpart. While the consequences of such action is not known, it is one process for a curious mind to view into the lives of their other counte-BANG!

POOF

A huge blast of air erupts in my face as my body is blown backwards and off my chair. "What the FU-" before I can even finish cursing, I felt my blood run cold as sweat slowly drips down my forehead. In between my legs is a metal rod that just inches away from my young family jewels. I know that thing was not there before I sat down to read my book...speaking of book, wherr did all these pages come fro-oh. I quickly stand up to get a better understanding of what the fuck just happened. "You alright Ned?" The concern voice of the Librarian calls out to me as I try to gather myself.

"Yeah uh I think so. What the hell just happened?" I look around while trying to pick up the mess that was created from my book. I guess the 'Viewing The Multiverse Through The Lens Of A Sorcerer' must've exploded in my hands because my table...or I guess what's left of my table, is the only place that has loose pages all over the place. "I think a student must've had a failed spell that went off in the courtyard and it backfired. The explosion was probably what got in here and uh well that." He points at me and the ruins that used to be a table. "Ah I see. Uhmm the destruction of this book won't be blamed on me right? I'll help you clean up if you don't charge me with its destruction." I put on an awkward smile as the librarian begins to laugh slightly.

"There's no need for such a thing. It was a complete accident and by no means your fault. Now what title were you reading so that I can check the inventory list of our books. If the damages are nothing serious then most likely I can restore the volume." He spoke in a calm manner while reaching down to begin picking up the loose pages. "I believe it was called 'Viewing The Multiverse Through The Lens Of A Sorcerer' it was the last book on the shelf I was working through and uhh well. It might be the first book in this library that I don't get to finish." I let out a chuckle while bending down to help pick up the pages. Even if I did get some bullshit charge for this, I don't think it's in my character to not try and help.

While picking up the remnant of the book my eyes can't help but wander back to the strange black rod that almost castrated me. "Hey uh do you know what this is?" I reach over to pick up the item that is embedded within the floor. To my surprise it took a bit of effort to pull such a thing because it was lodge so deeply in the wooden floor. "Oh that? Uh it must be the pen we kept on one of the relic shelf here. May I?" The Librarian extends his hand out and I pass over the pages in my hand as well as the cold metal pen. He collects all the pages into one hand before examing the relic in the other. "Ah yes this is probably the oldest relic you have stored in the library here at Kamar-Taj. It's by no means the oldest relic we have but it is the oldest on the library. I believe every librarian who took up the duty of protecting the ancient texts here has been given a phrase when they started. 'Only those whom are destined will receive the pen' or something like that. Really it's just use as a decor since no one could figure out how to ink the damn thing." The Librarian chuckles to himself for a little bit before handing the pen to me.

"W-wait what? Why are you handing this to me?" I unwillingly extend my hands to accept the pen that nearly ended my family line. "Well from what I've heard, it's been here for as long as the Ancient One and no one has seem to become it's master. Maybe perhaps you can do something with it. If not then just return it to me once you're done. At the very least now the pen will actually get to see some daylight instead of just sitting on a shelf." The Librarian puts on a smile before walking away to set the unbound pages away at his desk. "And don't you worry about the table or the rest of the pages. It seems like we'll have to scrap this volume, the last couple of chapters seem to be torn to shreds unlike these other pages." He starts to pick up the broken pieces of the table while waving me off. I nod and give him a small bow as a thank you before heading towards my room.

Walking out of the library I try to look around for the student whose spell backfired on them but it seems like my conversation took too long. All that I can see is a clearing of scattered leaves on the ground that must've been ground zero of the blast. "Hey uh did you see what happened a couple minutes ago?" I look over to a nearby student that's in the middle of reading their book. "Huh? Oh ah I think Oluf had an accident earlier and his spell blew up. Thank goodness it was a wind elemental spell otherwise he could've gotten very hurt." I nod my head and thanks the student before heading towards my room. It's been a weird and bizarre day today but since I finally have a new toy to play with I shouldn't be wasting time. I only have a couple of hours to mess with this before it's bed time and I probably won't have any free time to mess with this until the weekend.

We're slowly getting there bois. If you're getting bored of the slow pace then I would suggest going through the original 'Mystic Spider' since they both are the same story but this one is a "little" bit more refined and expanded instead of being rushed. I still have a few more things I want Ned to go through before he heads to America. This is only year one of four at Kamar-Taj for him.
