[As of 11/30/23 this novel's ROUGH DRAFT is COMPLETED] [Warning: 18+ Content! - cursing, dark themes, sexual content, and other adult matters are present - NOTE: there is NO 'knotting' in this story for both those who come looking for it, and those who want to avoid it. I just wanted to give a head's up either way. LGBTQ+ representation is also in this novel. :)] This is book one of the Ylphasia series. War, betrayal, loss, growth - none of these things were aspects of life that Myranda had in mind when she finally met her destined mate. The only problem was that her chosen was someone she absolutely despised - Prince Metas, the next rightful King to the Lycan Kingdom. From the bottom rungs of society, everything above her seemed like a dream - it was too bad her preconceived notions were far from wrong. In their journey to make a brighter future for their entire kingdom, Metas and Myranda learn that there is so much more to just being mates than their shared love. As they navigate the complications of starting a revolution, both Metas and Myranda discover just how compatible they actually are - and how much their paring means for the future of their kind. ----------------------------------------------------- [EXCERPT] "If you want my place so much, you should challenge me when the time comes. This is cowardice. You think I can beat you-no...You know I can beat you, and so you're trying to hurt Myranda to make me weaker. You're a bastard, a cheat and a liar, and you don't deserve to rule over our kingdom - and you never will. You have no valor, no honor - and no moral compass," Metas spat towards him, and kept his hair up on end involuntarily. "I'm drunk right now and easily pushed you over like a small paper bag filled with shit. Since you've so brilliantly shown what you'd truly like to do, I'll make sure she is safe from you. Meanwhile, perhaps you should train or learn better tactics from your papa," Metas continued, and even grinned with delight. "Even if you beat me in combat, the rest of those in power want to see you fall. You won't last," Silas warned, and reformed into his mortal self. "...but I do intend on challenging you. Unless you want to kill me right here and now since you're so confident." "There is no honor in killing you without the glory of showing you exactly what I am capable of in front of everyone. I will take Joss' advice and do nothing for now. I don't want to throw away honor for revenge. If you come near her again, I will kill you before you ever get the chance to prance around in front of high society with a little speech, and show off to your wife and no friends. Understand?" Metas asked menacingly, and now his gums were visible as saliva dripped from his lips and teeth, barely holding himself back. "I will drink your blood through your eye sockets if you lay one more fucking claw on her - understood?" Metas warned as he advanced towards the blonde male. "You letting me live will be the biggest regret of your life, Metas. Hold those words close to your heart when you lose everything to me," Silas sneered and turned away, but not before he locked eyes with Joss with a dare in his green orbs.

Another Sleepless Night

Everything was spinning....and honestly, she was terrified. Myranda had never been under the influence of such strong medication before, and when she woke up feeling sick, she felt like a drunk toddler trying to crawl towards the waterfall.

Her throat was so dry, and her stomach felt so sick. All she wanted was to get a nice good piece of elk, and a large gulp of water. She was so sweaty, and her hair stuck to her face so annoyingly that when she tried to swipe it away, it would just cling to her skin elsewhere and cause more discomfort.

Everything was so loud, too. Normally the waterfall was a beautiful back-drop that helped her sleep at night. Right now, it was like unending thunder roiling in her ears in the loudest frequency possible. She didn't even hear herself when she whimpered as the uneven ground scraped against her skin.

"Ahg..." she let out with a groan.

So thirsty...parched...mouth as dry as a mouth full of ash...if she could just touch that water with the tips of her fingers.

"Where are you going?" Silas' voice hit her ears and sent an ice cold sensation to crawl down her inner ears, and fade into her neck, and then her spine where she shivered.

"No....You can't be here..." Myranda argued as her eyes beheld the glinting green eyes of the person she feared more than anyone or anything.

"Where is Metas? What have you done to my husband?"

"Oh, Myranda. Did you think he had the upper hand? So predictable. So sad. You disappoint me as usual...." he trailed off and spoke like he was a lion speaking to a mouse.

"I will fuck you up if you touch me. You'll never ever hurt me again. Where is Metas?"

"He's dead. All of your little group is dead, and now you belong to me. You're my prize, and my personal toy from this day forth. I'll make you stay on all fours, but you'll never be a wolf again." He smiled cruelly and took great pride in the fear in her eyes.

"...You're a liar. You're just being cruel to me again....Metas couldn't be killed by a weakling like you. Like a pathetic spit of a.../man/ like you!" Myranda shouted and struggled to move. Her body was so heavy, and it was hard to move anything. It was like she had been heavily drugged to incapacitate her on purpose.

"M-Metas!" She screamed and looked around frantically with no luck or relief of catching his gaze, all she could see were two green eyes of malice descending upon her form.

"Let go of me!" Myranda swore her vocal chords were tearing apart with how hard she was calling out for Metas. When had he done this? How had he done this? Was there really no one around?

She found it impossible to fight back, and as he turned her over to pin her down onto her stomach, she shivered at the chill of the cold stone underneath her skin. Myranda was only further terrified as the intrusive feeling of fingers started to grope her unwantedly.

"No!" The angry female denied and kicked as hard as she could, which granted her a painful grunt from the male who staggered back.

"You want me to be a unicorn? I can be a unicorn!" She shouted sadistically, but also in hopes her own joke would keep her fighting, just like Jyriah and Syrana did when they felt lost.

"Myranda, what the fuck?" Silas asked incredulously.

"What do you mean what the fuck - get away from me-" she was cut off as he came back towards here and once more attempted to pin her down by wrapping his arm around her neck.

There was only one solution to this problem....

- CLAMP - her teeth sank as hard as they could into the warm arm that had denied her freedom of movement, and denied her rights to dignity as a female -- no as an individual in general.

"Ow! Mandy!" Silas shrieked in pain, but his voice wasn't his own.

"Mandy, sweetheart - wake up - wake up, it's okay," Metas shook her tenderly and gently tried to pull her from his arm, but her teeth were clamped tight, although it didn't hurt as badly as it could have due to her still being pretty doped up. He had every confidence he'd be bleeding had she not be sedated.

"She kicked me...why did she kick me?" Ajax asked as he had woken up as well from her kicking and fighting from her nightmare.

"She didn't mean it and you know it..." Metas snapped.

"No - I mean - why didn't she just kick you and stuff? Your wife is half-unicorn, goddess damn it. Fuck my back.. it hurts..." Ajax groaned in agony.

"I'm sorry on her behalf," Metas replied as he struggled to get his arm free, and to understand what his wife was murmuring in her sleep with her mouth full of his skin.

"You and I are going to make sure you two get alone time together at all costs. She's drugged up and still dreaming like this? You need to give her a really good dicking at this point," Ajax complained in jest.

"I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that about your Queen and Luna -- my wife, in case you forgot." Metas pointed out.

"Said what now?" Ajax replied innocently.

"Exactly...but yes...I would like to stop being interrupted. That would be appreciated. I'm going to drag her a little bit further away. I honestly don't care as much if she kicks Cassandra in her sleep, however I don't intend on letting her do it more than twice," Metas admitted.

"Metas, Metas-" Myranda opened her mouth to shout as her eyes popped open, but struggled to lift her head or body.

"It's alright, I'm right here. See? You're just having a nightmare, Mandy" he spoke as gently as he could for someone with teeth indentations in his arm and a terrified partner who was shivering in a cold veil of sweat against his dry clothing.

"Where is Silas? Is he dead? Are you dead?" Myranda asked with genuine confusion and fear.

"No, love. I'm alive, and you're having a night terror. Close your eyes. You're in no danger," he reassured her and felt so much better when she nodded and fell backwards with her mouth wide open in slumber.

She hadn't even been awake. This would probably be the first of many moments where she would awaken. He wasn't getting sleep tonight...

Damn it.
