Chapter 7: Project Celestial Being

As Tony toiled on in captivity, Giotto continued to complete his plans, the efficiency of his robot army was frightening, especially when he started to equip the various box trucks with GN drives and optical camouflage.

During the day he had an army of box trucks roaming the streets of New York, picking up packages and sending them to his safe houses in disguise.

The addition of the GN drives allowed Giotto to reduce the mass of the trucks allowing for low altitude flight which gave these trucks the ability to evade traffic and become even more stealthy than they already were.

Add to that the robot army connected to various VEDA terminals that quickly dug up and built an interconnected underground network of bases.

Quantum solar panels, powered everything, high energy battery packs stored energy for long range actions. The quantum communication system made all the actions of the robots and VEDA completely isolated from intervention and snooping.

An interesting thing that occurred though was the self-sufficient system that VEDA concocted. Giotto allowed VEDA control of plans in order to increase the efficiency of building the underground secret base.

This, whether fortunately or not, led VEDA to continuously create robotic manpower fitted with different functions. A key thing about these Robots was that, unlike the other general purpose workbots Giotto developed. These robots were created with a GN drive Faux, this allowed the bots to function in long distances. 

When Giotto returned to look at VEDA's progress a 2 days after he killed Miles and took care of the fallout of Kingpin's and Miles' deaths he was shocked to find that VEDA had sent various exploration teams all around the world.

These teams are composed of 20 robots of which there are 2 maintenance bots, 7 exploration bots, 4 production bots, 1 command bot and 6 construction bots. These teams goals were to prospect for oil and mineral deposits on the seafloor.

VEDA's purpose for these teams was to create resource production facilities.

Based on the data presented by VEDA on the efficiency of their actions, the only limiting factor that slows them down is resource acquisition. Since most of the materials were ordered from outside sources, VEDA had to go through storage information of various companies, contact smugglers and set up transactions.

Of course, the actions to acquire the materials were easy for VEDA but the problem was the logistics.

Once the materials were transferred to the logistic bots and trucks things moved quickly. But the wait time before that was what took a toll on their production.

Unlike Giotto's robots and logistic tools that did not need rest, or sleep, could run 24/7 and had a constant maintenance division or tireless robots. The normal logistics chain in this world, even for the US, was restrained by all these factors.

Traffic stalled shipments, moreover the transactions VEDA had were all illegal. This added another layer of problems that gave VEDA another problem of managing the changing delivery dates and shifting timetables.

Again, these were not problems for VEDA but they were a source of inefficiency which went against the task of efficiently finishing the plan set by Giotto. Because of this, VEDA had formulated a plan of self-sufficiency.

The prospecting and mining of undersea minerals were done because current technology did not allow for such operations. In a way, VEDA planned to start this mining industry, which would also solve the problem of causing chaos in the market.

In fact Giotto was not perturbed by VEDA's actions, the exploration teams were shocking but not all that problematic. What truly made Giotto pause was the future direction VEDA came up with.

Using knowledge from various papers, experiments and geographical data, the godlike AI postulated the feasibility of mining various metals and precious minerals from the upper mantle directly.

There was even an incomplete plan to test the creation of a TD blanket using the internal pressure of the earth. Though this plan was still incomplete as a survey of the forces in the earth's mantle still needed to be done.

On the matter of mining the earth's mantle, Giotto could only sigh in defeat as he read through the information. The data of GN particle strengthening showed how, with a certain level of output and GN particle use, it is possible to mine the earth's mantle.

But this process was very inefficient and would only be used by VEDA as a jump start to its plan of special colonies.

Using deep earth mining to secretly build a cosmic fleet, that would then be sent to nearby planets such as Venus, Mars and Jupiter. Venus and Mars being raw material mining sites while Jupiter would be the GN drive development station.

The plan laid out by VEDA was very detailed and looking at the data, Giotto could not help but believe that it was indeed possible. But no matter how possible it was, Giotto couldn't help but pause when he saw the timeline.

"10 years… "

All the plans that VEDA had were possible in a mere 10 years. At first Giotto could not believe such a thing but when he recalled the timeline of events in the MCU.

"Ten Years are barely enough…"

Giotto recalled the Infinity saga, the war killed off half the universe's population and subsequently brought them back.

Right now he had no reason to prevent such eventuality aside from self preservation but Giotto did not want the unfortunate future to hit. He wanted to stop it, whether it was for his own self satisfaction or not he wanted to prevent it.

"This timeline could get a bit faster… VEDA, start Project Vongola II, integrate it into your 10 year plan and show me the timeline for the creation of a space colony."

Giotto watched as VEDA started to do a series of calculations, as it did a list of people with images and various information rapidly scrolled on the terminal.

After a good 3 minutes VEDA made its conclusion-

"5 years… half the time needed, 2013… I don't recall when Thanos attacks but.."

Giotto looked at the list of names that appeared on the screen, some of the names were familiar but the faces were not. These names were all individuals that VEDA chose as possible members of the Vongola.

Using the algorithm used by Aeolia Shenberg to select the members of Celestial Being, Giotto performed a similar scan of all individuals in the world and this resulted in the list before him.

The list contained a plethora of familiar names, Tony Stark, Natalia Alianovna Romanoff, Clinton Francis Barton, Nicholas Joseph Fury, Carol Danvers- These names were all the famous names of future heroes and current agents of shield.

Giotto ignored these big names for now as he focused on the less famous names on the list. As he scrolled through names of famous scientists, genius researchers and businessmen, he finally found himself in the list of people whom VEDA believes to have potential.

He ignored the names with ages below 18, and as he did this a name caught his attention.

The image that accompanied the name was that of a young woman, with platinum blonde hair that shone with a brilliant luster.

The woman had a very attractive appearance which caught Giotto by surprise after he saw the name and paused.

Giotto did not hesitate as he expanded the section of this woman and read through all the data that VEDA had of her.

"I see… it seems that no matter what world, even if mutant abilities and the X-gene did not exist, her fate would still follow the intended path… "

Giotto paused, he once again took a good hard look at the images of the woman on the terminal.

"Emma Frost… it seems that this life would be more than just power fantasy and changing events."

With a smile Giotto made VEDA adjust its actions, after that he turned around as he left the warehouse.

Ever since Kingpin's death, Giotto had been setting up his own identity using VEDA. After taking care of Miles he now had free reign to move to the US. 

There were many billionaires who did not flaunt their wealth, a plethora of millionaires who live frugally but could just stop working and play around for the rest of their lives if they wanted to. It took quite some time for VEDA to set Giotto up but the background information in various countries was hard to fabricate.

After all, not all nations and systems were digital, even the US had a paper trail of information about its citizens. Of course, VEDA made sure to keep a paper trail, all the AI had to do was use drones equipped with robotic arms and optical camouflage to sneak into certain buildings and insert some fabricated documents.

"Giotto Giovanni, a billionaire who was raised in the American Midwest, living in an isolated Manor. Turning 20, Giotto inherited his family's wealth and decided to become a big name public figure. He took the opportunity of Tony Stark's disappearance to start his own business empire…"

The background built by VEDA strayed a bit from his own plan, he initially wanted to be labeled as a millionaire but VEDA changed it to a billionaire.

His current net worth was 10 billion USD of mixed liquid and fixed assets. Most of his fixed assets were real estate his family had for hundreds of years and all his liquid assets were from family accounts that were spread in various offshore accounts.

Of course the real estate he owned was falsified, the previous owners of those properties were long dead. With no successors and no one caring for them, those properties lay dormant. The government also ignored those properties as they were far from the business centers and had no economic viability whatsoever.

These dormant estates were renamed by VEDA, through the use of invisible drones and hacking it was able to change the titles of these properties. 

After Giotto initiated Project Celestial Being, VEDA ramped up the production of robots and sent them to these dormant properties to begin clean up and renovation work.

Of course the materials used were acquired illegally and brought to those properties secretly.

As VEDA went on completing its task, Giotto went to various high class motor vehicle dealers. He first bought the latest model of the Triumph Rocket III. Then, using said bike, he headed for the nearest Maserati dealer and bought a Granturismo.

Giotto did not want to waste money, in fact the purchase of those two motor vehicles made Giotto cringe a bit. After all, he did not like wasting money on these useless cars and motorcycles.

The reason he saw these purchases as a waste of money was due in fact to his knowledge. Aeolia Schenberg had blueprints of Gundams, he had ideas of mechs, Giotto even had plans of building mechs incorporated into the 5 year space colony plan.

If he wanted a car or a motorcycle, he could build it himself, using an all electric or GN drive based power plant.

The possibilities of his own self made cars were endless but Giotto also knew that showing up now with such vehicles would not only catch eyes but also get a bunch of unwanted attention.

As much as Giotto wanted to purchase more common cars, he had to make a show. That was the plan, although it was like a copy of Tony Stark, it was in this act that he could grab the billionaires attention.

Giotto had to get into the mix, get acquainted with people and make a name for himself.

Acting like a fat sheep to be slaughtered, Giotto would take down all the troubles that would cause problems in the future. Now, he was focusing on the money grubbers who would cause various problems for Iron Man.

He wanted to weaken them as much as possible, and take their connections to the government. Become an important figure and stop problems such as the Sokovia Accords from being signed into being.

Using his knowledge of the future, Giotto would ensure that he could protect the Earth alongside its defenders.

"Now then… I guess it's time to really hit the world of these money grubbing ass hats with a meteor"

Giotto said as he stared at a famous structure in Manhattan, a building that was so expensive even billionaires saw no use in purchasing it. The most they would do was lease it since, as amazing as it was, economically, the whole building was nothing more than a money sink.

But Giotto did not think of these matters as he had a different purpose for purchasing this building.

"With that, I should attract her attention"

With a smile Giotto entered the building wearing a classical two piece suit.
