Company Retreat to Shuilan Valley
Lai could hardly contain her excitement as the company bus rolled down the winding roads toward Shuilan Valley. The retreat had been talked about for weeks, ever since the announcement in the last board meeting. The retreat was meant to strengthen bonds between the employees and also work on skill improvement.
Lai had never been to a company retreat before, and the idea of spending three days in the scenic Shuilan Valley, a place she had only seen in postcards and on tv, was enticing. The valley was known for its lush greenery, crystal-clear rivers, and the majestic mountains that framed it like a painting.
The bus was filled with chatter and laughter, the usual office buzz replaced with an air of anticipation. Lai sat with her two closest friends from work, Na and Zhenya. They were a trio that had formed almost organically since Lai helped them take first place at the companys athletic meet.
