The Life of Corrin Laplaus

Ever get tired of the same old broken MC beating up Voldemort and making friends with Harry, dissing Ron, and capturing all the ladies' hearts? The only part I agree with is dissing Ron. But he might not even exist in this... This story will be taking place in an alternate universe where Tom Riddle ceases to exist! Sorta going for an idyllic slice of life-y approach to Hogwarts and what not, though I'm surgically implanting some bad stuff because.... it's what the kids like these days, ya know? Ok I lied it not very idyllic atm but yeah. I own none of anything except my OC's Lore and stuff might be inaccurate at times but I... plot magic. Current update schedule is one a MONTH LMAO takes me a while to get motivated but maybe more if I feel like it Dunno how long this will last but enjoy the ride!

Beginnings

On a frigid November morning, the morning of the twenty-sixth to be exact, Corrin Laplaus was born to Arthur and Kate Laplaus at St. Aberthy's Hospital. Jet black hair, beautiful hazel eyes, rosy cheeks... what more could you ask for? Instead of the normal crying, the baby began to giggle, instantly putting a smile on both parents' faces.

And then Corrin fell asleep, that's when the parents, later the staff in the maternity ward, beheld one sight that they wouldn't forget any time soon. His face looked like that of a sleeping angel's, an atmosphere around him that just made people melt. Many minds were broken that day, their thoughts being along the lines of 'I wish I could be one of his parents'. When the Laplaus's left the hospital, many a staff had heavy hearts, hoping to one day see what that little bundle of joy becomes.

The Laplaus parents resolved themselves not to use magic around little Corrin, in case he turned out to be a squib. The Laplaus's were no Sacred twenty-eight, but their family had been around for a while. Even so, they would still love him to the end of time, no matter what he turned out to be.

On his first birthday, he somehow got out of the house. Of course, Arthur and Kate searched every inch of the house first before coming to the conclusion that he wasn't there. They quickly rounded up their neighbors to search for the missing toddler. Everyone was more than happy to help while also deeply terrified that something may have happened to "their" Corrin.

They eventually found him in the park, having a picnic with a woman who looked in her 70s, and a dozen other little children. When Corrin caught sight of his parents, he started giggling and clapping, with the other tykes following his actions.

"Look Arthur! My little baby's made some friends! Someone, quickly take a picture!" Kate practically screeched.

Luckily one of the search party neighbors had their camera on them and snapped a picture of all the children giggling happily with Corrin front and center. Everyone was too... distracted to remember the old lady, who was neither in the picture nor still present.

When Corrin started to waddle his way over to his parents, the other kids attempted to follow him once again, yet this time they were scooped up by their own parents, who had just found them as well. From what everyone had gathered, it seems as though Corrin made his way through the park and attracted quite the following before finding a picnic blanket for them all to sit in.

They all exchanged addresses, promising to send letters to organize playdates... well actually it was everyone just asking Kate as she had Corrin in her arms. Never the less, Corrin's next few weeks were completely booked. Over time, some families faded out while some became a bigger part of the Laplaus's lives.

One such family were the Layettes. The had also been around for a while, though slightly shorter than the Laplaus's. Their child, Evelyne, was the one who Corrin seemed to enjoy being with the most. Evelyne was born just a few days after Corrin, on the twenty-ninth of November, so they began celebrating their birthdays together. Year after year, they grew closer and closer until they were practically inseparable.

"Evwyn! Ith almoth youw buwfday! Happy buwfday! (Evelyne! It's almost your birthday! Happy Birthday!)" Corrin said happily as their parents reunited them again after a grueling six hours.

"Yeff yeff (Yes yes)," Evelyne nodded her head vigorously, "Wew tuwnin fwife! (We're turning five!)"

"Eli and Ellie, it's been six hours since our last child exchange but how've you been?" Arthur asked with a chuckle.

"We've been... excellent! Little Eve couldn't stop talking about how excited she was... the entire time," Ellie said with a smiley grimace, "Sometimes I wonder why we even take them to different homes."

"Yeah it's not like we get peaceful time in between. How bout we start taking shifts, like you guys take em for a few days, we take em for a few days. You're already practically Corrin's second parents." Arthur joked.

"Arthur, behave yourself!" Said an embarrassed Kate.

"That's not a bad idea, what do you two kiddos think?" Eli said to the surprise of Ellie.

"Wee wanna!" Corrin and Evelyn yelled at the same time.

"Okay let's do rock paper scissors to see who takes them first. Best out of three" Arthur challenged.

"Agreed, winner gets to pick." Eli responded.

"Damn my trap was detected... wish I had some Felix on me." Arthur cursed under his breath

Both wives nearly fainted from the shamelessness that their spouses had just exhibited. But they couldn't do anything to fight it as the men had already brought the kids into it, with their approval the matter was settled.

Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!

Round 1

Eli: Rock

Arthur: Paper

Round 2

Eli: Rock

Arthur: Scissors

Round 3

Eli: Scissors

Arthur: Rock

Arthur began dancing around like he was one of the the children here to which Kate responded by pinching his ear and dragging him back to where they were standing previously.

"We'll be glad to take them for however long you need us to. Have a nice relaxing time, Ellie." Kate said with a wink.

"But I won, Kate, this isn't fai- OW I mean we're always happy to take care of Evelyne"

This was how the Laplaus's and the Layettes basically became one big family. Although they stayed at one's house, the other would still spend time for most if not all of the day, and only leave for the comfort of their own house for some much wanted... stress relief. You would think that the two would eventually get tired of each other, but the short answer is no, they didn't. Coincidentally, they both had their awakenings on their sixth birthday celebration.

The two families were having a picnic at a scenic place. Long stretches of golden beaches, the sound of the ocean flowing back and forth, back and forth. They were situated on the top of an overhang, sitting on the grass. If you looked closely at their first picture together, the picnic cloth is strikingly similar to the one Corrin and Evelyne sat on years ago. Anyways, as it was a slightly dangerous location, the adults were being extra vigilant.

Nothing unusual happened until it started to rain and thunder. A lightning strike struck near them and the adults rushed to pack everything up and prepared to apparate with their children, but then realized their children were no longer next to them. Looking around it seemed as if they suddenly vanished. Over the noise of the storm, two wailing voices could be heard, very close to each other. The voices followed each other until Corrin and Evelyne walked right in to each other.

"Evwyn, is that you?" Corrin yelled at the top of his lungs.

"Yes, where are you, I can't see you!" Evelyne yelled back.

"I'm wight here!" Corrin fumbled around for where he believed Evelyne's hand to be, catching it and grasping it hard.

When he did that, they both reappeared, a bit away from the picnic site. The parents took notice of this immediately, nabbed both of them and apparated away.

From then on there was never a quiet moment in either of the two households, both kids getting up to as much mischief as possible.

My first chappy of this new story. I was gonna pull something really sad involving Corrin's parents but I liked them too much. Tell me if there is not enough dialogue as I'll try to accommodate y'alls reading preferences
