Long Live the Chosen one

Zhang Lee walked down the streets of China briskly. He wore a casual attire this time, which fitted him perfectly. His strong build made him look even more attractive. If it wasn't for his old face, girls would keep falling for him.

The old man strode into a food stall. It was a small building with a food stall in front of it. Zhang Lee sat on one of the stools in front of the counter like a regular customer. The attendant smiled at him, like he was a regular at the place.

"What shall I get you sir?" The young, smooth black haired attendant asked with a smile still plastered on his face.

"A few dumplings with some Iron and Dragon toppings." He said. With this, the young attendant nodded and led Zhang Lee politely into the shop and led him to a certain spot, which the old man stood there quietly and expressionlessly.

The young boy quickly went to a corner and pulled a lever and immediately, the spot which Zhang Lee stood on began to sink. It was like an elevator without a roof and it began to go deeper into the ground. Darkness covered the whole of Zhang Lee's vision, but the old man wasn't fluttered. This was a regular thing for him so he wouldn't be flustered at all.

Slowly, light slowly shone on him and what he stood on landed on a platform before stopping. What covered Zhang Lee's vision was now an underground facility. There were lots of people scurrying about, doing one thing or the other. The facility seemed to deal with technologically advanced weapons.

Zhang Lee walked forward and passed a few stalls by. Weapons were tested in these stalls and the reformed. A particular one caught his eye. A man aimed a rocket launcher at a manikin putting on a full body armor which didn't look heavy but instead, very durable and tight fitted.

He fired the rocket launcher and it exploded on reaching the body of the manikin. The flames burned for a while but after the smoke cleared, the armor and the manikin remained undamaged.

"Hmmm." Zhang Lee scoffed with slight admiration in his heart and walked forward. He ignored the loud sounds of testing equipments and walked towards his aim, a door straight in the front with the inscription off head of Weaponry.

Zhang Lee didn't bother to knock before entering and he just opened the door and closed it behind him. The office couldn't even be called an office, and instead looked like a blacksmith's shop. One side had a desk and a chair like an office, while on the far left, was the furnace and some other things. The place was well ventilated enough for one to be able to breath.

Behind the desk, an old man was working on something on his desk. He was looking into a magnifying glass as he was working on some sort of gadget. He was so focused that Zhang Lee's intrusion didn't bother him.

"Didn't they teach you how to knock before entering places?" The old man asked, not taking his eyes off what he was doing.

"Great to see you too, Li Hua." Zhang Lee replied nonchalantly and took his seat on a nearby chair. The man behind the desk finalized what he was doing and sighed before looking at Zhang Lee.

"How long has it been? Two years?" He asked. The latter didn't reply immediately. A part of him felt guilty for not checking on his friend for a long time, while another part of him was keeping his pride intact.

"I've been busy, old friend." He answered. Li Hua loooked into his eyes for a while before scoffing.

"Humph. Congrats on your newborn granddaughter." He said. Zhang Lee raised his brow but his expression returned to normal almost immediately. For someone he had known for a long time, he wasn't surprised if this guy knew things that weren't made public.

"There's nothing much to congratulate here." Zhang Lee returned.

"Don't be like that. You should be happy that a new member has been added to your family."

"We both know that that's not the problem here." Zhang Lee blurted with some frustration in his voice, "This one happens to be a bit troublesome." Li Hua laughed.

"Isn't that your job— to handle 'troublesome'?" He said, mid laughs. Zhang Lee was getting slightly annoyed.

"This isn't a time to joke around! You know what the prophecy says. It won't be long before 'they' send people to come kill the child." Zhang Lee yelled. Li Hua waved his hand.

"Of course I know that. But that's not my problem. You figure out a way to deal with it." He replied nonchalantly. Zhang Lee was about to get angry but he simply inhaled deeply and calmed himself down.

"Whatever..." He spouted before his face turned firm again, "Is it ready?" He asked. Li Hua closed his eyes and nodded, as he already understood what this man wanted and he walked to a corner of room. He carried a huge box singlehandedly and brought it in front of Zhang Lee.

Zhang Lee didn't bother to assist him as he knew that Li Hua wasn't weak at all. The box he carried needed to be carried by at least two people, but Li Hua lifted it easily. Li Hua opened the box and took out a sword— a katana. The blade was inside its scabbard, which was black by the sides and red in the middle, with a golden chinese dragon running from one end of the scabbard to the other end.

"This has been my greatest masterpiece. When wielded by a strong swordsman, it can cut through the heavens." He said as he unsheathed the blade, giving off a sonorous sound. The blade was shining and the blade gave off an aura that would make one feel sliced a thousand times at once. On it, was an inscription.

"I believe that when your granddaughter becomes of age and strong enough, she should be able to wield this." Li Hua claimed. Zhang Lee nodded and Li Hua handed him the sheathed katana.

"Long Live the Chosen one." Li Hua said.

"Long live the chosen one."
