Limping On

Jon was sitting in the mostly sealed off room with the puffer jacket discarded to the side while he had the thinner jacket opened up staring at the cut that was about four or five inches long. It seemed to be not that deep though when it healed there would certainly be a scar left behind.

Pulling at the ripped inner jacket he ripped a long strip free wrapping it tightly around his chest before testing out the makeshift bandage by doing some light stretching happy to find it stayed still.

Finally taking a look at the scattered gore Jon spotted the tail hanging off of one of the statues in the room taking just a second to decide before tearing up the rest of his inner jacket.

He found an old spear resting in the corner a little ways away dragging the tail over as he secured it the best, he could along the practically petrified shaft of the spear.

[Not the best or worst craftsmanship ever! Mind +1]

Making a sling on the spear as well he made sure it wouldn't move around too much on his back before lying flat on the floor to check through the crack between the floor and the stone slab.

It looked clear but he wasn't going to take any chances counting in his head at what he believed was the right amount so far between shifts inside the pyramid.

Right as he reached the count for another shift, he heard it the familiar clicking that he had only ever heard in the movies a vague outline against the stone appearing. A shimmer filled the air before a set of heavily muscled legs in fishnet appeared in the wall of the wall across the way.

"Wait up!" The shout was sudden almost causing Jon to let out a noise though luckily, he managed to hold it in.

Another more human set of legs appeared in his view facing towards the front of the distinctly alien ones.

"I can't move as fast as you."

The clicking responded a moment later before suddenly cutting off the sound of something whirring filling the air before the hall outside lit up with a blue glow a number of times. An all too familiar noise accompanying each flash of light the sound of plasma hitting aliens.

What was happening out in the hall told him where he was in the movie and how little time, he had to make his own escape from the place.

As the two pairs of legs turned and began running once again Jon waited the rumbling of stones shifting starting all over again as the xenomorphs streaked past his hidey hole.

Slipping out of the little gap Jon sprang to his feet sprinting in the same direction that the xenomorphs had gone briefly while trying to feel out which paths were colder.

Soon he was taking twists and turns always trying to head towards the colder air barely managing to squeeze through a gap as a hallway he had just been in became a dead end.

Then as he was certain that he had gotten lost he saw it a gap in the side of the pyramid leading out into the snow and ice filled cavern around the structure. But with that gap he could also hear them hissing and communicating in their own way as they scouted the way out for their queen.

The team of xenomorphs that would attempt to ambush the last predator and the woman were already outside the queen wouldn't be far behind.

But Jon didn't have time to hesitate so all he could do was grit his teeth jumping sideways through the gap plasma pistol already raised as the hissing drew closer.

He saw the teeth first not hesitating for a second as he fired the pistol spinning low to the ground relying on nothing but instinct and will to keep moving away.

Two tails piercing the stone that he had been standing on as he rolled backwards almost slipping over the lip of the level of the pyramid he was on.

Yet it saved his life as a third form slammed into the space, he had been in the pistol making a final beep as he levelled it taking out the one that had attacked last.

He could hear notifications coming in but thankfully nothing was displaying itself without his permission.

It was the last attack that he didn't see coming a xenomorph slamming into him from the side sending both of them tumbling over the side.

The only thing that saved his life being a quick jerk of the head as claws swiped through the air grazing his jaw the pain barely registering.

Jon separated with the xenomorph on one of the bounces clearing the base of the structure as he impacted a snow drift grunting as he looked up.

Hanging limply on one of the giant stone statue spears was the xenomorph a grid pattern of green blood on its head. That honestly surprised Jon that one was depicted as the most intelligent though he wasn't able to dwell on it as the other two were coming down the side.

Pulling himself free from the snow drift Jon found himself missing the pistol though amongst the snow it was easy to spot resting on the ground just before the base of the pyramid. He would never reach it in time though he had already spotted the other two survivors approaching.

Unfortunately for them he was closer to the sled than them but also, he had the greater will to live as well as an in-depth knowledge of the movie having watched it enough times to know the code.

Settling onto it he ignored the shouting and roaring behind him as the winch began working pulling him away and up the icy tunnel towards the surface outracing the blast that was coming.

Sailing through the air was a sweet experience at least at the start of the upward arc it was when the sled flipped due to a collision with a building that he didn't like the experience as much.

He hit the ground sled landing on top of him as he barely got his arm up in time to take the full brunt of the impact. A sharp crack ringing out while he was buried half in the snow underneath it knocked out.

General Pov

Fire rushed over the sled heating its exposed bits while melting snow around it before everything settled down the entire abandoned station falling silent as the minutes ticked by.

Nothing moved and it was in this silence that suddenly a massive ship decloaked a number of the Yautja standing there as an elder walked to the spot the tunnel had been staring down at the snow.

A single grunt left the elder before he turned away walking back towards the ship everyone them unaware of the numerous smaller face huggers that scurried into one of the drop ships.

A dark figure in the sky watched smiling sadistically as it manipulated the odds of the face huggers passing undetected just like it had manipulated the odds of Jon being knocked out.

"Jon boy this will be the most entertaining thing to happen in a while they will be turning the whole verse upside down looking for the differences."

The figure tapped at the empty air for a few more seconds before disappearing in a swirling pattern of darkness.

Jon Pov

It was raw agony that woke him up his arm bleeding with a little bit of bone sticking out a series of notifications flashing in his vision.

[Level Up! X4]

[One Skill Point Acquired]

[Two New Skills Acquired]

[+3 to Body and +2 to Spirit]

The additional points in body seemed to only take affect when he noticed them the pain in his arm lessening a little some of the visible bone drifting back in before stopping.

It was definitely broken still but not as severely as before though the sled still being on top of him was what was saving his life.

He could see the retreating feet of the elder from underneath the side of the sled waiting until the ship had ascended twenty minutes later not even noticing the biting chill.

Lying flat on his back Jon planted both booted feet firmly against the sled exhaling slowly before suddenly applying force sending the sled flipping backwards.

He got up slowly cradling his broken arm while looking around at the abandoned whaling town that was half collapsed grunting as he took his first steps.

It would be hours before rescue arrived if it did at all though his real concern was that he was getting cold.
