The family cabin

After Matthew finished work, we packed two bags and put them in the car. Matthew pulled out of the driveway, and we left for the cabin. We stopped before entering the expressway to get snacks.

Matthew grabbed beverages and waited at the checkout. I grabbed the snacks. He watched as I carried an armful to the counter and released everything.

/"What are you doing?/" Matthew asked me.

/"Getting snacks./" I waved my finger at the junk food.

/"For whom? An army?/"

/"We must act like kids loose in the store with $100./"

Matthew gave me a strange look. He shook his head and paid for our stuff. The clerk bagged the items, and we carried the bags to the car. Matthew drove out of the parking lot and entered the expressway.

I dug through the bags and pulled out a candy bar. I held it up to Matthew. /"Kit Kat?/"

/"Sure, why not?/"

I broke off a piece and handed it to Matthew.
