Party of reincarnator's take on a dungeon 2/2

My senses detected a creature approaching me and my party rapidly. Something powerful and familiar to me.

'The Usagami is coming be prepared.' I let out with the telepathic communication.

'Good I wanted to fight a boss monster.' Akira sent back a hint of excitement was there.

'Yume is ready.' Yume also responded.

'Ki eda formation.' I ordered smirking as we all split up into a triangle like formation within 3 trees surrounding the area. The purpose of this formation was to ambush a target we knew was coming and that's what we all planned to do. Akira was to my left side and Yume to the right. 

In the month we had been training I looked into basic formations and positions we could use during our dungeon exploration and this was just one of 3 I knew how to use alongside them. I looked below waiting for the creature to appear so I could give the signal.

My Sharingan stared seeing the creature arrive but not seeing us. In an instant I gave the signal to attack for Akira ordering Yume to use Kage no Uso whilst my blade was unsheathed.

Me and Akira leaped from our trees blades drawn and with swiftness we launched our attacks. I swung my blade into a dance like movements attacking with graceful swiftness whilst Akira attacked with ruthless efficiency yet none of his movements were wasted.

I leaped backwards as the Usagami tried to attack me before hitting Akira away with a swift kick. It rushed me yet all of a sudden it stumbled back as Yume used Kage no Uso on it to conjure an image in front of it. I had no clue what the illusion was but taking advantage of the moment I used Katon: Goryuka which hit it directly. I then used the opportunity to launch Shuriken imbued with lightning at them.

"Truly you impress me. I don't know how I came back to life but it seems you have grown immensely since we last fought." So it seemed that whenever I did a dungeon twice the bosses get revived.

"It's been a few months since we last fought.* I spoke as Akira launched forwards at the Usagami. His wide arcing slash connected cutting deep into the fur of the Usagami which seemed surprised as Akira seemed different. His eyes were focused completely focused on the task at hand as his blade sliced the Usagami's flesh once again.

I smirked knowing exactly what was going through his mind. 

He realised that unless he fought a strong opponent head on he would never develop into a good's swordsmen and he would never know the name of his Zanpakutou

This was the resolution I wanted him to make. A resolve that wouldn't break easily. Though to be honest I didn't expect him to realise it so soon but seeing the Usagami praise me must of set off something in him.

The Usagami blocked and hit back using a claw of lightning only to be blocked by the blade which was now imbued with fire chakra. Wait is that a flicker of red on the Zanpakutou? The guard depicted roaring flames and the blade had turned crimson though he had yet to unlock Shikai.

I see so he has finally earned the recognition of his blade. Let's see how he handles this.

[Akira's POV moments prior]

I could hear it in my mind. A voice calling out to me randomly.

'How long are you going to stay weak? How long will you let your ambitions die out? Don't you want to protect your friend?' A constant stream of negative words filled my mind yet I wasn't willing to give in to them.

I saw through the glass that day how cruel humans really were, I watched them through a window in their endless world of white. I dreamed of defeating them. The Ayanokouji twins that were called Masterpiece's because if I could do that I could reject the nature of the Whiteroom itself.

The idea of an artificial genius fascinated me yet it also disgusted me. No matter how much hard work one put into something they would lose to the kid who was rich, the kid who had private tutors for every subject possible.

Money meant everything. It symbolises power, status and even ones relationships. Very often you would see woman out right refuse to date a man who wasn't rich.

The Whiteroom wanted to destroy everything I thought possible. Everything I lived by. Of course I would be opposed to it.

And now look I am letting a Whiteroom Student out do me in every aspect. I was pathetic. 

My resolve had crumbled in front of my eyes with every thought yet I wasn't going to just give up. I had to protect those I cared for no matter what that was true but my reasoning was more selfish. I wished to defeat Arisu at something. 

Did I have the resolve to fight? No it's not a question of do I have it, it's a question of needing to fight. 

I must become an excellent swordsmen. There was no other choice. That was the only thing I could defeat Arisu in and starting from this moment that newfound resolve would not crumble.

I got up off of the floor a new resolve lighting a fire within me.

'Remarkable you have earned my respect.' That voice commented once more as I felt the blade in my hand change. 'This is but a gift. Now set out and set your heart ablaze in a dance of blades.' I stared at the blade feeling my energised then ever but not yet knowing the name of my blade.

I didn't care right now. I stood up and within an instant I rushed my opponent completely focused on one thing.

Defeating the boss in front of me. 

[Arisu's POV}

I watched as Akira weaved past an attack like it was nothing and with a quick cutting motion slashed a tandem on the arm of the Usagami off before he kicked the creature launching it back.

"Another impressive human." It released Shugo Inazuma at Akira who raised his hand forwards seamlessly planning on blocking the attack. He readied himself fully. Akira took the attack head on the lightning blast probably hurt him a lot yet he took it. 

I can already tell that Yume is gonna have a field day with this. Since she has a crush on him. 

'Yume don't try anything right now let him fight his own way. I feel that he has finally made a breakthrough.'

'But Arisu he's fighting alone.' She whined.

'Yet he himself wants this.' I sent back. 

Oh right I'm using the private chat feature to do this.

Akira smirked showing his hand as being badly burned by the attack but he was still standing. Even I was impressed. He charged forwards using chakra to enhance his speed and swung his blade against the creature 5 times rapidly. Each one creating a deep gash on the Rabbit's skin and they weren't shallow one's either they were deep. His barrage ended with a strong cut imbued with flames to enhance the potency of his next attack. 

I need to learn that at some point.

'Arisu help out a bit.' I heard him speak through the telepathic communication.

'Don't you want to deal with this yourself?' I asked.

'I can't really do that myself I'm badly injured from earlier.' I checked his HP bar and saw how bad it was.

I leaped in switching with him as he backflipped away letting me take his place. 

'Pincer.' I ordered out to him which he listened to quickly switching with me as I leaped over the rabbit. Now that we were in position I began a violent barrage of attacks that still held the finesse that I was used to. Akira used his barrage of slashes of fire to increase his damage efficiently. The rabbit was stuck in a perpetual state of taking damage heavily. 

It used Usagi Ashi to move out of the way finally having enough of trying to counter our attacks.

"Raiton: Raikousou." I said as a spear of lightning flew into it from my hands. I wasn't done however as an arrow of lightning chakra soon followed into it. I then went through 2 handseals and discharged 9 disks of lightning towards it. Each attack hurt it massively yet I wasn't done yet as with another few handseals I shot balls of water out from my finger which was pointed at it now.

I saw Akira use this chance to rush it and with one final cut the creature laid on the floor dead.

"Good work Akira.* I praised him as I looked to the creature. "Still to think that these things come back when I re enter these dungeons." I mumbled under my breath.

"It held a lot of respect for you." Akira said.

"Yeah that's because I killed it once. Then I talked to it. Usagami gave me a life lesson in its final moments last time so I respected it as well." I spoke gaining the EXP from last time again with a dungeon chest key. 

"Holy shit. I just shot from level 12 to 27." 

"Yume now understands why Arisu so strong." She was probably 27 as well.

"Yeah I shot from level 24 to 34 instantly from it myself." I stated truthfully.

"What level are you now?" Akira asked.

"39 I haven't had any quests or anything since I visited this place a few months back." I said reading the text box. Akira accepted my answer. "Anyways you 2 want to get the loot."

I walked over to the chest and opened it. 

You have gained 5500 Ryo, 3 chakra pills, 55 shuriken, 2 chakra induction papers, Suiton: Mizuyari

"Here." I gave them both chakra induction paper.

"Wait is this?" I nodded my head. "Well okay." Akira's paper burst into flames.

"Oh Chakra induction paper." Yume followed up hers bursting into flames then turning to mud.

I noted them in my head and after a few seconds we were back in reality.

"Well I'll see you both tomorrow." I said walking home instantly.

"Arisu wait up!" I stopped in my tracks turning to meet Akira in front of me. "Can we play Chess sometime?" He asked me.

"You want to defeat me don't you?" I asked.

"I want to see how fast you can defeat me." He went on to explain. "I also want to defeat a Whiteroom student. After all my goal was always to defeat the Masterpiece's of the Whiteroom." So he wanted to defeat me and my past life's brother.

"So your goal is to defeat the Ayanokouji twins? I accept your challenge not as Arisu Uchiha but as Akira Ayanokouji." He seemed stunned for a second. "I died of cancer." I reminded him.

"So your one of the ones I want to defeat. Oh now I'm feeling pumped up." He exclaimed.

"So what day?" 

"Next week I need to check if Chess even exists in this world."

"We can always make a Chessboard if not." I stated.

"I'll see you then." He walked off having declared his challenge one I was looking forward to.

After all the last time I was challenged this way it had been by Arisu Sakayanagi.
