Chapter 8

"Adan..." I called him. "T-this is too much..."

"You deserve it heather. You deserve it..." he said huskily as he lean close to me.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked confusedly.

"Why are you even doing this..." I whispered enough for him to hear it.

"Because I like you..." he said as the first snow of the year fell from the dark sky of the night. I looked up to see more snow falling down.

"It's the first snow..." I said. amazed. "wow..." I smile. I thought I would never feel happy again when I lost everything.... but here I am. Smiling because of the first snow.

When I looked at him, I've just realized what he said. he likes me? how?

"I like you." He repeated.

"Huh?" I said while confused.

"I will repeat it again. I like you." He said. He's brave huh?

"W-why are you telling me this?"

"Hmm, because I like you." He said as he stood up from his seat. He offered his hand... "let's get inside. It's snowing..." I nodded before taking his hand.

I can't help to smile while I look at his hand that's holding mine. It felt surreal.

"I like you..." I whispered quietly as he opened the door for me.

"What did you say?" he asked a bit confused. I shook my head as I giggle.

"I was singing." he pouted as I walk my way towards the counter.

"I'll go get my uniform," he said pertaining to his apron and nametag. I nodded as I press random buttons on the cash register. He just confessed... but wait. For real? he's not joking right?

"Hey what's wrong?" he asked as he walk in front of me. The counter was the only thing that separates us.

"Nothing.." I sighed.

"Are you thinking about what I've said earlier?" he asked. I looked at him. "Don't worry. I just want you to know that I feel something about you. so that... you won't freak out whenever I act uh.. strange?" he chuckled.

"You were... playboy... that's what they said..." I looked away as I play with my fingers.

"I was. I admit it, sorry.." he scratched his neck while I nod at him. "But I'm serious here. alright?"

"okay..."

"Hey, loser," Meredith laughed as she walk beside. I sighed before continuing to walk. I still got ten days. Thanks to Adan I now have a new university. The only problem now is my home. I haven't found an apartment yet. I need to find an apartment with a cheap rent and it should be accessible to my new university. If that's possible.

"Good morning..." Adan greeted as he lean on the locker beside mine.

"Good morning..." I smiled at him sweetly. I removed my scarf that is wrapped around my neck to fix it. "You look nice with your winter outfit," I said as I eye him. He's wearing a black cardigan that looked heavy because of its thick fabric. That must be expensive.

"I should be the first one telling you that..." he pouted like a kid.

"It doesn't matter you know..." I said as I close my locker.

"I'll walk you to class..." he said as he snatched my bag.

"Don't you have class?" I asked.

"I do. still have a hour tho.." I nodded.

"I still have 10 days left..." I said as we walk in the hallway.

"you should be happy. you got a new scholarship..." I nodded before I glanced at him. He is staring at me intently.

"Yeah. I'm planning to find an apartment near it. Will you help me?" I asked him.

"I'll help you even you won't ask me to." I smiled.

"Thank for saving my ass," he chuckled as he give me my bag. "I'll see you later then?" I asked.

"Yeah." he said. I was about to go inside when he called my name. "Heather..."

"Hmm?"

"You look beautiful today." He said as he turned his back away from me. I didn't realize that I was already smiling.

As I enter inside... I met Cynthia's gaze. I didn't know what to feel. I sighed before looking away. This is what they wanted right? to get rid of me?

"Hey," I was surprised when Adam suddenly appeared next to me.

"Hey?" I greeted as I wave my hand.

"That was cute," he said. Both of his hands were on his cardigan. He offered me his hand as he pointed my bag.

"I can carry-" I was about to insist but he snatched it from me.

"You can, but I will." he smirked.

"Don't you have something to do? or whatever that keeps you busy after class?" I asked.

"Hmm. I got none. All I know is... as of now, my only business is you." he winked at me before opening the shotgun seat's door for me. "Get in,"

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I'll take you home. Unless you want to go to mine?" I pinched him as he laugh his ass out.

"Thank you for the ride..." I said as he opened the car door for me.

"I'll see you later at work?" he asked as I nodded.

"Drive safely. Snow is pouring." I reminded him.

"I will. go inside now," I nodded before going inside.

"Wake up!" Ella shouted as she tap my cheek. "You're late already!"

"What!?" late for what!? what the hell, I got work! I looked at my phone and I saw it is ten minutes before seven! "Thank you for waking me up!" I told Ella before I ran to the bathroom to get ready.

As I open the door the sound of the chime stole Adan's attention.

"Dang, I thought you won't go to work," he sighed in relief as he saw me.

"Sorry. I was asleep," I scratched my neck.

"It's alright," he smiled. "Have you ate dinner?" he asked. I shook my head. "Let's find some near expiring meals?" I smiled.

"You don't do that..." I said as I walk towards the big fridge where the meals were displayed.

"I wanna do it." He said sounding like a puppy. "Besides... it's more cheap. It will save me money." He laughed.

"Save money your ass." I mocked. "Don't you remember you were always at a night club? don't you spend money there huh?" I laughed.

"Hey, that was months ago..." his cheeks were red!

"Oh my god! are you blushing?" I laughed even harder. He look pissed! "are you shy now huh?" I teased him.

"Who wouldn't get shy when your crush is the one who's making fun of you huh?" I looked at him in shock. "Let's just find something to eat shall we?" he said ignoring me.

Crush huh? I'm his crush... I smiled as I stood beside him.

"Okay. Let's find something to eat!" I happily said.
