"Start.... talking..." Stacy said to me immediately I closed the door.

"Hi guys. Stacy what are you doing here?" I asked her because I was surprised.

"We've been looking for you!. Thought you got lost or worse kidnapped!" Madeline said almost yelling.

"Okay, I get you're worried about me and all but you don't have to raise your voice. I'm not a kid." I said to Madeline.

"You are new here and you don't know anyone. So Forgive me if I'm a little annoyed that you couldn't tell someone where you were going." Madeline said to me.

"Okay okay. That's enough. She's safe. That's all that matters." Stacy said to Madeline.

"As I was saying.....Are you going to tell us why Damon of all people was walking you to your dorm. Ohhhhh have you been with him this whole time???? Cassie! You are so bad!" Stacy said to me excitedly.

"Um I'm not sure what you're insinuating, but yeah I was with him. In the library. it got late and he decided to walk me here ." I said to them.

"Wait so you both have been in the library? What exactly were you guys doing?" Stacy asked me and wiggled her eyebrows.

"Reading duh. That's what people do in a library." I said to her.

"Mm um reading you say. So what were you both reading?" Stacy said and air quoted the reading part.

"History. About this whole place. About my powers." I said to them .

"Well did you learn anything? About your powers. Do you know what it is now?" Madeline asked me.

I remembered the teacher asking me not to tell anyone yet.

"No. I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know so... " I said to her trying to avoid the conversation.

"Right. So you and Damon huh?" Madeline said to me and raised her eyebrows.

"Why are you guys acting weird about it. There's nothing there. Today was just a coincidence." I said to them.

I went towards my closet to bring out clean PJs to use for the night.

"Okay. If you say so. There's nothing there." Stacy agreed with me.

"Thank you for getting on the same page with me. I am going to take a shower and have a good sleep. Bye stacy." I said to her and went straight into the bathroom.

When I came out, Stacy was already gone. It was just me and Madeline now.

"So what really happened today? Why were you with Damon?" Madeline asked me again.

"Eh I thought I already told you guys. I was in the library and I met him there. He helped me with some books that was locked away in some private area or something. and then he walked me here because it was late." I said to Madeline and laid down on my bed.

"So you want me to believe that's just it?" Madeline said to me.

"Yeah. Because that's just it. Why do you keep insisting that something else happened? Do you have a problem with Damon?" I asked her.

"If you say that's it then Okay. I believe you. But I'm just trying to look out for you. Damon isn't a very nice person, just like sage. So be careful." Madeline said to me before turning to her own side of the bed.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

Damon seemed nice to me, I don't know why they keep insisting he isn't.

I decided not to think about it and just went straight to sleep.

When it was morning, as usual Madeline woke up before me. She was already dressed and ready when I was still struggling to brush my teeth.

I don't know how she does it.

"Would you hurry up. You're such a drag." Madeline said to me sounding annoyed.

I tried my best to hurry up, it wasn't fair to Madeline that I was changing her punctual schedule.

When we got to class, everyone was already seated.

The teacher wasn't here yet so everyone was chatting with each other. Mainly with their fellow element tribe.

David tapped me on my shoulder and I turned to say hello.

"Hey you." I said to him.

"Hey youuuuu. I heard about your little adventure with a certain dark haired, very attractive, water boy." David said to me.

I turned over to look at Stacy and she just gave me a thumbs up.

Seriously....

"It wasn't an adventure. Just two people reading. That's all." I said to him and he just smiled knowingly and nodded.

"I'm telling the truth." I said to him.

"Ofcourse you are." he replied to me.

I gave up in trying to convince him I was truthful.

"Hi there." someone called my attention.

I looked up from where I sitting.

A beautiful blonde girl was standing right in front of me. Cara.

"Hi!" I say sounding a little high pitched.

I cleared my throat immediately.

"You must be Cassidy. I'm Cara. We haven't met. Just wanted to Introduce myself." Cara said to me and smiled.

"Oh. Okay. Nice to meet you I guess." I said to her and looked at Madeline who was sitting beside me.

She looked furious.

"Likewise. You know if you need anything, I'm ten seats away. Just holler and I'll be there." Cara said to me.

"She doesn't need anything from you. So just move along..." Madeline said to her.

"I wasn't talking to you sweetheart. I was talking to her. A very important person unlike yourself." Cara said to Madeline still looking at me.

I just smiled awkwardly at her.

"Well she doesn't want to talk to you or have anything to do with you. So don't bother trying to make an impression." Madeline said to her.

"Aww Maddie, don't tell me you're still bearing grudges about the past, I thought we've grown that out. We're eighteen you know. Why are you still stuck at twelve." Cara said to her in a mocking tone.

Madeline angrily stood up to face cara up close.

"I think it's time for you to walk away." Madeline said angrily to her.

"Maddie you know me too well to know that I don't take orders and I don't like being ordered. So you better watch it." Cara said to her sounding from warm to cold at the second.

"You think you scare me? You're such a joke. You see I'm no longer the Maddie you used to know when we were kids. If you try anything funny with me, I will bury you alive." Madeline said to her while going closer to her.

"Look who's acting all grown up. Your threats even got cornier than before. I thought I taught you better. You should get meaner and not lesser. Honestly I'm disappointed." Cara said to Madeline, making fun of her.

"You! I'm going to put some dirt in your eye." Madeline said angrily to her.

"What?" Cara asked her with amusement on her face.

Madeline quickly conjured up particles of sand that was floating in mid Air and launched it towards Cara's face.

Cara closed her eyes when the sand landed on her face.

"Ugh you little dirt bag! You actually put sand on my face!" Cara said while trying to get her eyes open.

"Told you so." Madeline said and smirked.

"I'm gonna k*ll you." Cara said to her and luckily grabbed Madeline's hand.

Madeline screamed out in pain.

Everyone had to separate cara from Madeline.

Her hands were blazing fire so they all tried to avoid getting burned by her as well.

"You burned me!" Madeline said in shock.

"Sorry I couldn't tell you so. I was busy getting some dirt out of my eyes." Cara said to her.

Madeline wanted to attack her again but luckily the teacher stormed in right at the moment.

It's about damn time.

"What is going on here!? Cara and Madeline! You both come with me, right now!" The teacher said and Madeline quickly obeyed.

Cara took her sweet time before she followed them out.

"Now that was intense." I said to David and Stacy.

"Yeah. This is bad. Madeline's mom would be furious at her for picking a fight in school again." David said.

"Again? Like this isn't the first time they're fighting?" I asked them.

"Yeah. They fought alot back when we were kids. Now they just tolerate and ignore each other. That's until today." Stacy said.

"Wow. I haven't seen Madeline that Angry before." I said to them.

"Yeah. Hopefully you won't get used to it." Stacy said to me and smiled.

I nodded at her and we all went back to our seats when the main class teacher came in.
