As Yue Ling approached the CEO's office, her foot caught on something, and she felt herself falling backward. She braced for impact, but instead, she was caught in a pair of strong arms.
(A/N: wow she has crashed into someone again, I think it's really her habit to always bump into people ????)
Yue Ling's eyes widened in surprise as she took in the stranger's features, her mind racing with the uncanny resemblance to Mo Shira. But the warm smile and sparkling eyes set him apart, making her heart race with a flutter.
"Mo Jihnu...the CEO's younger brother?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
Mo Jihnu nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "The one and only. And you are Yue Ling, the secretary who's been making waves in the company."
Yue Ling's blush deepened as she felt a flutter in her chest. "W-waves?" she stuttered.
Mo Jihnu chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say you've caught my attention, Yue Ling. And I must say, you're even more captivating up close."
Yue Ling's heart skipped a beat as she felt herself getting lost in his ocean-blue eyes, the air around her charged with an undeniable attraction.
Mo Shira's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on the scene before him. His younger brother, Mo Jihnu, was kissing Yue Ling's hand, and she was blushing like a rose. A surge of anger and irritation coursed through his veins, his mind screaming "Why is she smiling at him? Why is she allowing this?"
He had been trying to break her for months, and now, his brother was swooping in, charming her with ease? It was infuriating. Mo Shira's hatred for Yue Ling only intensified, his mind racing with ways to ruin this budding connection between her and Mo Jihnu. He would not let her get away from him that easily.
Mo Jihnu released Yue Ling's hand, his eyes sparkling with charm. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Yue Ling. I've heard so much about you."
Yue Ling's blush deepened, her voice barely above a whisper. "The pleasure is mine, Mo Jihnu."
Mo Shira's eyes never left the pair, his anger and disdain burning brighter with each passing moment. He would put an end to this, whatever it took.
The atmosphere was tense as Mo Jihnu approached his brother, a stark contrast to the warm smile he had shared with Yue Ling moments before. Mo Shira's expression remained indifferent, his voice devoid of emotion. "What are you doing here?"
Mo Jihnu's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Big brother, aren't you happy to see me? I came straight to see you, and what a pleasant surprise to find such a beauty here." His gaze lingered on Yue Ling, who quickly turned away, still blushing.
Mo Shira's eyes narrowed. "No blushing in this office, Yue Ling." His tone was stern, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of something more.
Yue Ling muttered under her breath, "Ugh..."
Mo Shira's glare turned to his brother. "And you, go back home. I'll deal with you later." The warning was clear in his voice.
Mo Jihnu's smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "But, brother..." He trailed off, wisely choosing to retreat. "I'll leave for now, but it was lovely meeting you, Yue Ling." He bid her farewell with a charming smile, leaving Mo Shira to seethe in silence.
Mo Shira: Didn't I tell you to come to my office?
Yue Ling: Yes, sir, but...
Mo Shira: But what? You saw my brother and lost control, didn't you?
Yue Ling: (smirking) Yes, he's extremely handsome, unlike some people.
Mo Shira: (smiling condescendingly) Ah, yes, he got his good looks from me.
Yue Ling: ( rolling her eyes) Please, he looks like you, but without the arrogance and pride. That's what makes him gentle and handsome. And let's not forget, he's the famous actor Mo Jihnu.
Mo Shira: (scoffing) He only looks good because of his fancy clothes and rugged trousers. Unlike some people, who wear boring suits all the time.
Yue Ling: (laughing) Oh, Mo Shira, you're so jealous! Why don't you admit it? You like me, and I can sense it.
Mo Shira: (disgusted) What nonsense! Me, fall for you? Never! I have high standards, far beyond your reach.
Yue Ling's eyes widened in disbelief as she gazed at the document, her mind racing with the implications. "Sir, I thought we agreed on a 50/50 partnership with the Huo corporation?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
Mo Shira's expression remained indifferent, his eyes cold. "I decided to revise the terms, considering our company is bringing the majority of the resources. We deserve a larger share."
Yue Ling's grip on the document tightened, her knuckles white. "But, sir, this is not what you agreed upon with Mr. Huo. He may not sign this."
Mo Shira's gaze never wavered, his voice firm. "That's why I'm entrusting this to you, Yue Ling. Ensure he signs the document willingly. Otherwise, submit your resignation letter."
Yue Ling's eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched in frustration. She knew arguing was futile. "Okay, sir," she muttered, her voice barely audible.
Mo Shira handed her the permit card without waiting for a response, his expression unyielding. Yue Ling took it, her eyes locked on his, her mind racing with ways to convince Mr. Huo to sign the revised agreement. She knew she had to try, for her own sake and the company's. With a deep breath, she turned and left the office, the weight of the task settling heavy on her shoulders.
Yue Ling's mind raced as she sat at her desk, her eyes fixed on the clock ticking away. She had only a few hours to come up with a plan to convince Mr. Huo to sign the revised agreement. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sting of her biting her tongue, a habit she had developed when nervous or frustrated.
She couldn't believe Mo Shira was sending her to the hotel alone, a deliberate attempt to make her uncomfortable and vulnerable. But she refused to back down, her determination renewed. She wouldn't let him win, wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her fail.
With newfound resolve, Yue Ling began brainstorming, her mind racing with ideas and strategies. She would not go down without a fight, and she would make sure to come out on top, no matter what Mo Shira threw her way. The clock ticked on, but Yue Ling was ready for the challenge ahead.
