Punishment

In the snowy mountain of the northern region in a continent, There was a kingdom that thrives due to its own Hero. This Hero's name was Elizabeth, The strongest female hero in the Northern Region and One of the strongest heroes in the continent.

She was very loyal to the kingdom and was a faithful servant to god, She took many territories and gave food to the peasants. She was known to be a good hero that was told to be the goddess of the kingdom until she was betrayed.

She conquered many kingdoms for her people and kingdom but she was betrayed, When Elizabeth finally conquered the last kingdom in the Northern region she was drug by her so called subordinates.

Elizabeth was brought to prison accuse of many things that she didn't do, She was told that the Famine, Plague, Rebellion, And Slaughter was her fault. The unluckiness of the kingdom was all her fault, Even the religion that she was faithful to also betrayed her and started to spread slanderous accusations.

"Kill the Demon!" "Burn Her!" "She killed my child!" "My family was killed by this Demon" In the main square of the kingdom, There were a lot of people that came from all around the kingdom cursing Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was tied up in a wooden stake that was surrounded by flammable materials, She was supposed to be burned in this central plaza so that the people around the kingdom can see her burn in a stake.

She looked around the square and all she founds were people cursing and swearing at her, She could see that their face was full of hatred that even she was surprised on how the people she saves betrayed her.

'Is this worth it.' Elizabeth thought to herself while sighing with a sad face, The northern region was a place that was very dangerous. All kings and leaders in this area were tyrants but considering the climate and environment, she can't actually blame them.

All she wanted to do was create a place for all people to be happy and this is how they repay her after working hard for these people that were in front of her for years.

Even the religion she was faithful betrayed her for money, She can't help but be disappointed at the race called humans. She wanted to say that all humans are not the same but she just can't forgive them.

While Elizabeth was tied up in her stake, A priest from the church slowly walked towards her. The priest stopped in front of her and was looking at her with a disgusted face. Elizabeth couldn't help but smirked when she saw the disgusted face of the priest.

The priest turns around and faces the people that were around the stake of Elizabeth, All of the people were quiet due to how they respected the church for saving them. The Priest looked around the square and spoke to the people in the area.

"My fellow people, You have suffered from this demon. I don't know what to say but live on for the people who died, Our god sees the people here as equals. All of them would have a place in the afterlife." The priest said, He was literally being overdramatic but it was not notice since most people in this era were probably dangerous.

"We will burn this Demon and purge her bloodline out of this world, We will give a way for the people who died by this demon. We will forge a path by this demon's blood and we will strive in this Empire of ours." The Priest said as he pointed at the carriages that were heading towards the empty stake that was next to Elizabeth.

Seeing the carriage, Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. The Carriage door slowly opened and Elizabeth saw a girl that had bruised all around her body. She was wearing slave clothes and her facial features were the same as Elizabeth's.

"Rose!" Elizabeth shouted, She was sure that her best friend took them out of the kingdom if she was captured by anyone. Elizabeth was panicking and looking at Her sister's body she can't help but grit her teeth.

Rose who was handcuffed by a slave's iron handcuff, When she heard someone mentioning her name. She turns her head and saw her older sister, Elizabeth who saw this was very shocked when she saw the dead eyes on Rose's face.

"This is the sister of the demon, Thanks to our hero we manage to capture one of her family members. We didn't have justice on the other ones due to them being killed by our soldiers." The Priest said while pointing at Rose, The guards that were next to Rose push her body so that she would move forward towards her stake.

Rose already lost hope and her mind was broken, There was no chance for her in this life and all she could do was say something to her older sister.

Rose and the guards were in front of Rose's stake, The Guards then began tying Rose to the stake. Seeing her little sister getting tied up in a stake with her, Elizabeth couldn't help but feel angry towards the people.

"Rose, What happen? Why were you captured?" Elizabeth asked Rose who was next to her, Rose slowly turns her head and looked at her older sister with dead eyes that lost their former brightness.

"All of them died, Old sister Lilith fed the information about our escape to the kingdom. Father Died, Mom was raped before they beheaded her, And our youngest brother was also killed with father." Rose spoke quietly, Tears were slowly dripping from her eyes.

'Why did this happen, Why? Did I deserve this, Why is my family paying for it with me. What did I do wrong?' There were many questions in Elizabeth's thought hindering her resolved and slowly turning it into a panic.

"Burn the sister of the demon, Let the demon see the flames of hell." The priest said as he pointed towards Rose. The guards then took out many torches and slowly walked towards Rose's stake.

"NO!!!" Elizabeth shouted to the priest, As long as her sister lives. Everything would be okay but when she saw the face of the priest, She was shaken to the core.

The face of the priest was smirking at her as if signifying that they won and she lost. She also remembered her best friend who betrayed her family which causes them to die, She remembered the mistakes she did during her life and how idiotic she was.

"The Demon finally has shown itself, We must burn the sister so that the demon would know how you people feel." The priest said towards the people, Elizabeth finally lost hope. The people were cheering for the priest and kept cursing her sister who has done nothing wrong.

"Older Sis." Elizabeth could hear Rose's gentle voice, She turns her head and saw the bright eyes of Rose that she always sees every time she went home. Rose was smiling at her with a gentle smile and the dead eyes of Rose disappeared.

"Thank You," Rose muttered her last words as the torches were thrown to the stake, The Flames quickly spreads on Rose's stake turning it into hell. The Crowd was cheering when the flame burns Rose's skin, While the priest and the guards were smirking.

"Why?" Elizabeth said as she held her head down, Her little sister didn't scream while she was burning. Her Father, Mother, and brother died, She could remember the memories and she was having a flashback of her life.

Elizabeth's faith in the so called god was slowly disappearing, her actions were her fault and her family paid the price for it. Did she deserve this, If there is a god why would this god make her suffer. Is she just one of the many self proclaimed people that will never be noticed by this so called god?

[You are pathetic] Elizabeth could hear a cold and ancient voice. She looked around the town square and saw that all of the people froze as if time stopped.

'Is this god' Elizabeth thought to herself, Is this the so called god that she kept praying for. The merciful God who owned the utopia of mankind.

[I am just no one, The no one who is passing by and found a pathetic mortal] The Monotone and Ancient voice kept mocking Elizabeth. Elizabeth wanted to say something but she couldn't say it.

[It was your fault that your family died, You kept praying for a creator that created thousands of worlds. The creator will never notice you pitiful mortal] The Monotone and Ancient voice said.

'What do you mean?' Elizabeth was confused, she did everything she could to make everyone happy and why is she being mocked by it.

[You are mocked due to your naivety and your pathetic mind. The word Hero is just created by many intelligent species so that they could praise and use the one that is called the Hero for their means.]

[You are just one of those pathetic people who knows nothing about the world, And those pathetic people disgust me.]

[Your Sister was burned to death because of you, Your younger brother was killed because of you, Your father was stabbed because of you, And your gentle mother was **** and beheaded because of you.] The Ancient and Monotone was heard and was currently listing Elizabeth's sins to her family.

Tears slowly drip from Elizabeth's face, it was her fault that her family died. Why would she even do this if she knew that her family died because of her goal.

'Please end my suffering.' All Elizabeth wanted to have is a quick and silent death, She didn't want to be hurt anymore, She just wants to be in peace. She didn't want to feel pain.

[I cannot kill you but seeing your strong will and bravery, I will take away your suffering. As one of the first creations of the creator, Will you agree to sign a contract with me a Devil.] The Ancient and Monotone voice was heard by Elizabeth.

'A Devil?' This was what Elizabeth thought at first hand but considering the fact that the god she was currently praying to didn't answer to her. She would rather trust a devil since all of it landed in the same place which was suffering.

Elizabeth nodded and agreed to the contract that the Devil was giving her, She wanted to know if she could revive her family but before she could speak the Devil spoke first.

[I cannot save your family, and I don't want to save your family. This is your second chance to be reborn, You will have the talent of unlimited growth and the process of going there would be hard.]

Elizabeth sighed when she heard that she cannot revive her family, At least she wanted to ask if her family was in heaven since a Devil exist why can't the angels, demons, hell, or heaven exist?

[Yes, Your family is now in heaven, All of them were above the average scale of good and evil. So they won't be reincarnated and they will enter heaven.]

[Elizabeth, I need your blood for this contract.]

Elizabeth hearing her gritted her teeth and blood slowly falls from her lips, She was still tied up in her stake so she cannot move her hands or legs. She was very happy hearing the good news but she was still disappointed at humanity.

She could feel something burning from her hand, She turned her head and saw a star that was inside a circle. Is this what the contract meant, What does this do. Will this enslave her?

[Elizabeth, The contract will be applied the moment you are strong enough. I want you to be my general and lead your own army, It is your own choice if you choose to join. I will not force you and all you need to do is be strong enough to survive on your own.] The Devil said with its Ancient and Monotone voice.

"I will pay you and be your general after I become strong, I thank you for saving me and how do you take my suffering away?" Elizabeth agreed and asked a question to the devil.

[I can take your emotions away, Do you agree or not?] The devil asked with its Ancient and Monotone voice.

"I agree." Although she would forget the beautiful and poisonous thing called emotion. She needs her emotions to disappear for her to get stronger and more powerful.

[I will take your emotions, You will be thrown in one of the projects the creator had which is a primordial world. I hoped you survive in that place since the world is full of many powerful things. But all of you would be the same in attributes so you need to be at the top of the food chained to survive, You must get stronger.] The Devil said.

Elizabeth nodded and the whole time finally unfroze, She looked around and saw that the people were still cursing her and swearing towards her. They really wanted her to die and all Elizabeth could do was say one thing.

"I curse the northern region," Elizabeth said while smirking, The torches were already placed and the whole stake was covered in flames. Elizabeth was slowly engulfed by the fire of the people she saved.
