Stand Still

{My 3 nephews are over at my place until school opens up. Today I had time to write half a chapter in the morning and finish the chapter later. There might be days where I will not post chapters, and for that sorry. but I will try and post at least 1 chapter a day, and try even harder for the bonus...

"Okay... how do I start the story?" I sat before a table, looking at the blank pages in front of me. I had read the best book this world had to offer, and now it was time for me to get to work.

But where do I start? This book had to trump the other books out there, I sat there for some time, thinking for some time until something out there caught my senses. I looked into the sky, sensing the person who was dreaming about me. I tapped the table lightly, and to my will, the table rippled like the surface of the water. Slowly, the image of what was taking place in Xia Qingyue's dream appeared.

The dream was playing out at extreme speed, easily hundreds of times faster than the outside world. But in my eyes, it was flowing at speeds no different from the outside world.

"I don't know how on point this will be. but since this is my dream world, your infinity should be the real thing." She said while looking at the dream me. I smiled lightly at her words, before improving my copy to be somewhat strong.

Xia Qingyue went on to use the power of ice and try and reach the copy, only to find it unable to reach the copy. Xia Qingyue nodded lightly before going to start improving her usage of Ice, without even knowing, she began to slowly start forming her law. although the basic, it was something that shocked me as she wasn't even at the nascent soul, as at the nascent soul realm, one can sense the laws of the lower realm.

This allows them to comprehend them to such a deep level that they can draw power from the heavens, the deeper they understand the laws, the greater the power they can draw from them. Pretty much they would have the power to manipulate the universe to some degree.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. yet Xia Qingyue kept training, not giving herself even a second to rest as she just kept improving and improving upon her skills. It took a few months of hard work for her to be able to freeze Infinity. What followed was her going on to close in, fighting my copy in close-range combat.

She was destroyed, having trouble just reading me as her mind kept lagging. but as months passed, Xia Qingyue's skills improved, each time she was killed, she came back far stronger than the last time until she was able to somehow fight my copy.

But she didn't stop there as when she was able to fight equally with the copy, she increased its power to newfound heights. With the copy being stronger, her skills would have to go through great improvements if she hoped to win... and so she fought, and fought. Death after death, she died billions of times, yet she kept fighting.

I just watched all of this, with a lost look in my eyes as I didn't expect her to go this far. I honestly expect those with talent to not put in this much work in training, yet she was going above and beyond in her training. Willing to die billions of times over... I saw my younger self in this.

I watched all of this play out, a slight frown on my face. But soon my senses picked up on something else, I waved my hand and the dream changed, turning into Helin Xun's dream.

"Haha! I did it! You bastard, I will kill you. The dream version of yourself today, but in the future, I will kill you!" Helin Xun said madly while looking at my copy.

To awaken within her dreams wasn't simple. She had to awaken from all types of dreams, it was mostly nightmares which she had to conquer. Of course, the center of these nightmares was the bastard before her.

She rushed forward to punch the bastard, just to get the worst beating of her... dream? I smirked while controlling my copy, which didn't give Helin Xun a second to think. She was given a beating that trumped all beatings. In the end, she was killed, and forced to awaken.

"..." Helin Xun's eyes shot open, confusion in her eyes, before her eyes turned blood red, her killing intent slipping outwards.

'Even in my dreams, I can't defeat you... Wu Xian, I hate you with every inch of my being.' She thought with deep hatred in her eyes. but she calmed down and tried to return to her dreams, this time avoiding that bastard.

What followed was her entering a dream where she was on the battlefield. where was the best place to refine her killing intent if not through unending battle. She would become a monster in the art of slaughter.

So, she killed and killed, and killed. Those she killed were not simple as they were all Fen Juechen, since she had watched him train enough time, she hoped she could somewhat create him... I of course helped her out a little.

Helin Xun started by making herself easily able to defeat Fen Juechen, but as her skills improved, she had him start growing stronger and stronger. maybe one day they would be fighting at the same level of power, and of course, it was an army of Fen Juechen, not one. She wanted to go on a slaughter, not one vs one.

'It looks like a martial arts birthed around the best way to kill is being born." I said with a smile while watching how her usage of slaughter was growing. Maybe in a few trillions of years, she might be able to lift my nail.

I thought for a moment, before doing unlimited void on her. allowing her to quickly master the hold of her dream to last just a bit longer within. a few years a night would do... by a few years, I mean a few hundred years if she wished.

Well... now all I can do is sit back and wait for something fun and interesting to come my way. Yun Che had gone to the demon realm, Qin Wentina was thrown out of the sect by me. I shouldn't shield the boy all of the time, and Fen Juechen was following Qin Wentian from the shadows, secretly protecting him.

I sighed while going to sleep, although I wanted to write my book, let me explore more of this world before doing such a thing...

The world ran on balance, there was one thing I never noticed as I went against logic and common sense. The world was slowly adapting, I just kept improving faster than it could keep up.

But among the things that have changed were people like Yun Che, QIn Wentian, and others becoming far stronger. This was most noticeable with them thanks to their talent, but bit by bit, everyone else was changing

I was special, and I alone was breaking the balance. The world was forced to start adapting and trying to set new measures for talent. Given the time, then maybe someone might reach a level where they could be a mortal and fight immortals, but that was far from happening. But this did mean genius would start appearing soon.

Time passed, and Xia QIngyue took a week of training before she came to see me. 5 weeks to be in fact, and by then Xia Yuanba was at level 1 Soul Transformation. Thanks to reaching levels 11 and 12 within every level, his overpowered growth capability had slowed down, or else he would have been a saint long ago, although Saint King would be a different question as this heaven and earth couldn't handle it.

"Another battle." Xia Qingyue said as soon as she saw me. I was sitting back, fast asleep. I didn't bother to even open my eyes and just waved at her to come at me. This enraged Xia Qingyue

"Stand back." She said while having her younger brother step aside. She stepped forward, and from her palm, the power to freeze everything shot towards me. this power was unmatched, freezing things like logic and common sense in its way. She had almost completed her law,

I let out a soft breath, and instantly that power shot back towards Xia Qingyue whose eyes widened in shock. She quickly boosted her strength and destroyed her attack while clapping her hands. She let out a cry, while ice covered the land around her. From the ice creatures came crawling out, all carrying the power to freeze everything in their path.

The Ice creatures all shot toward me, and Xia Yuanba's eyes widened. He understood his sister was scary, but this was another level. These Ice creatures were all as strong as someone at level 1 Saint King... in other words, Xia Qingyue was touching upon that peak of the lower realm.

"..." Xia Qingyue and Xia Yuanba's eyes almost popped out seeing me breathe out lightly, leading to all of the ice creatures just disappearing. I let out a slight yawn, while lifting a blindfold, and looked at her in confusion.

"Why are you not attacking yet?" I asked leaving Xia Qingyue just frozen on the spot, not knowing what to say for a good few seconds before she grew serious. 

She took a deep breath while closing her eyes, I rested my head on my palm while lying down. I looked at her in interest, wanting to know what she was doing. Extreme Qi began spreading out from her body, freezing everything to such a level, that everything just stopped.

Time, space, rules, common sense, logic, and so on. everything was put on pause within this... domain.

"I call this Domain, Stand Still." She said while looking at me, she was shocked that I could move around. but she stilled her heart and got ready for her strongest attack... oh wait, logic didn't work here. Who said she needed to charge up an attack before attacking? Who said one needs to do the action before the effect could follow? within her domain, such nonsense was thrown outside.

"..." The air was quiet as we both looked at each other, Xia Qingyue was blinking, confused as to what was happening. She already launched the attack, and it was a sure-hit attack within the domain, so what was happening? So, we stayed like that for a good few minutes until I got bored.

"Are you trying to bore me to death or what?" I asked with a speechless look, Xia Qingyue who was attacking this whole time felt wronged as she didn't know what was happening.

"Why is my attack not affecting you." She cried, to which I blinked slightly before I opened my mouth in realization. 

"Oh, did you think just because you ignored logic and common sense... that it was going to be enough to touch me?" I asked with a shake of my head, leaving her stunned.

"I tell logic and common sense what to do, I don't need to pause it," I said while waving my hand outwards, destroying the domain, and sending Xia Qingyue flying away while coughing up a mouthful of blood. She fell to the ground, and just lay there, not understanding what the hell just happened.

But what happened was simple. There was greater logic on top of the basic logic. Xia Qingyue froze the basics, but there was also the logic in how her ability worked. I just skillfully dodged it with greater logic.

Xia Qingyue sat up and looked at me with a lost look. I seemed so far within her eyes, a mountain that stood above the rest... alone, without equals.

"Sis!" Yuanba cried while running to her, but he paused seeing me standing above her while holding out my palm.

"I can see the hard work you put into your training these past few months, and it's impressive," I said while Xia Qingyue had a stunned look while taking my hand and getting up.

"You also need not compare yourself to me. this isn't my first life, my last life was a world without cultivation, and overflowing with bright and creative minds. Fresh Freeze is an ability I had gotten from one of the stories there, I just recreated it." I said with a smile and this stunned Xia Qingyue.

Not because I was reincarnated, No... she was shocked that I was being open to her about such a thing. After all, a while back I had used Fresh Freeze to show off. but with this honesty, it made her feel like that unreachable mountain could be reached.
