Shadow's POV
Everyone at the camp waited outside, four hours trying to figure out what the plans were. The door opened and Abby and Jaha stepped outside. "Chancellor..." Jaha says. Clarke and I move forward through the crowd of people. "By now you've all heard the rumor and unfortunately, it's true. The Grounders are coming" she informed us. The chatters and whispers started through the camp. "We have a difficult decision to make. Thankfully Chancellor Jaha has found his way back to us, and we're discussing all options" she tells everyone. Jaha stepped forward "But to be safe...we need to pack. Now" He announced. "Whatever you can carry. We may need to leave at a moment's notice" he explained. "Where will we go?" A guy asked. "I don't know, is the answer" Jaha informed him. "But I heard of a place. A city of light and it's across the dead zone" he says, pointing to the outside wall. "What makes you think we'll make it there?" He asked Jaha. "Because! We made it here" Jaha pointed out. This wasn't right, we couldn't leave our people behind at Mount Weather. "I have faith and right now, given the alternative that's good enough for me," Jaha says. "Not for us!" I blurted out. Everyone turns and looks at me. "If we leave here, what's happens to our people in Mount Weather?" I asked him. "As Abby said that is a very difficult decision to make" Jaha simply says. "I don't find it that difficult, you sent us down here die, we lived and not only that but found it to be survival and you're just gonna leave the people behind that helped make you being on the ground possible just to die?" I hissed out, rage building. "This is bullshit!" I shouted. "Shadow! That's enough!" Abby shouted at me. I scoffed "Thank you, Abby," Jaha says. "The time has come for each and everyone one of us to ask is this how the story of our people ends? Did we come all this way just to die tomorrow? Because if we're not gone by the time that sun rises, that is exactly what will happen " Jaha explained. "No decision has been made!" Abby spoke up now. "In the meantime please report to your station's supervisor and gather emergency supplies" Abby instructed everyone. I stared at Abby for a moment when I'm pulled back "Hey!" I was gonna push the person back when I see it's Bellamy. I wrapped my arms around him. "Where have you been?" I asked. "In the dropship. You and Clarke need to come back with me right now" Bellamy says. "What's happened?" Clarke asked. "I'll explain on the way," he says. "Bring a bag and meet at Raven's gate" he instructed us. Finn lowered his head "This is my fault, the Grounders are attacking because of me" he says. "The Grounders are attacking because that's what they do," Clarke says to him. "Go with Ella and Bellamy" Clarke ordered. "Your mom said no decision has been made" Finn pointed out. "But if that changes I'll let you know," he says. Clarke and I walked off together. We get inside the dropship and climbed up the latter. Suddenly something screamed, charging at us. "Ahhh!" I screamed, almost falling back but Bellamy was there to catch me from falling. "It's okay. It's okay" Bellamy whispered to me. "Oh my god! Is that Lincoln?" I asked, gasping. "He's been restrained," Bellamy tells us as Clarke stared at him. The chains rattled as the Reaper fought against them. "I can't believe we're back here again..." Clarke sighed. "Can you help him?" Octavia asked Clarke. "Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" Lincoln screamed loudly, almost sounding like a demon. "I don't know..." Clarke shakes her head. "We knew Mount Weather controlled the Reapers" Clarke whispered. "We have no idea they were creating them" I finished for her. "If they did that to Lincoln, what are they going to our friends?" Bellamy asked.
We watched as Lincoln screamed like he was in pain. Range and anger, this wasn't Lincoln. Suddenly his head dropped and his body began to shake. "He's convulsing," Clarke says. "What's does that mean?" Octavia asked her. I looked down to see his leg bleeding. "What happened to his leg?" I asked. "I shot him..." Octavia confessed. She's closed her eyes and gulped down. "He's lost a lot of blood" Bellamy pointed out. "I got your six Clarke," I say before we both took a step forward. I jumped a little when Lincoln screamed but I took another step. "Can you shine the light on his neck?" Clarke asked Bellamy. Lincoln turned his head as they both shine their flashlights. "Needle marks," Clarke says. "You think he's being drugged?" I asked Clarke. "Maybe" she answered. Suddenly I feel something hit my face and then I feel a strong hand around my throat before I'm slammed against the wall. "Lincoln!" Octavia screamed as his hand tightens around my throat. I claw, scratch and kick but nothing is working. He knocks Octavia out of the way and then Clarke. Bellamy beings hitting him over and over but he let me go, head butting Bellamy. I gasp for air as I see Lincoln take down Bellamy. "No!" I try to scream, rushing to my feet but then I'm knocked back onto the ground by Lincoln. Octavia suddenly hit him in the back before getting him in the face and knocking him out as he fall onto his back. Bellamy rushed over to me, my throat hurting. "I-I" Trying to say one word hurts, causing me to winch. "Shadow..." Clarke comes over, lifting my head to see the bruises already forming. "There's bruising already forming...Does it hurt to speak?" Clarke asked me. I shake my head "N-" I winched again at the pain. "I'll take her back to camp," Bellamy says. "No!" I hissed my voice sounding horsed. "There...no time" I coughed, wincing again. "Okay, but stop talking..." Clarke ordered me. I nodded, Bellamy, helping me stand to my feet. "What now?" Octavia asked. "The him down" I suggested, Clarke and Bellamy, giving me a stern look for talking yet again. Octavia and Clarke nodded and we begin tying him down. "We have to stop the bleeding and get the bullet out" Clarke explained. "Hold his leg down" Clarke ordered me. Lincoln wakes up and begins freaking out again, almost biting Octavia as she gives him water. "I'll get some more..." she sighed before standing. "O, once the drug is out of his system he'll be okay," Bellamy says. "You can't protect me from this one big brother," she says before walking off. Lincoln keeps screaming like a demon. Clarke gets the bullet out before wrapping his leg in a bandage. "Your mom would be proud" Bellamy smirked. "My mom would know how to save him" Clarke pointed out. Octavia comes back and with a Grounder and Bellamy rushed to grab his gun. "Bellamy!" I shouted at him. "No! He's Lincoln's friend and their healer" Octavia explained. Lincoln begins going into a seizure "He's seizing again!" I yelled. Bellamy let the Grounder come over before looking over the things in his poach before pulling out some vial. "What's is that?" I asked. "Yu gonplei ste odon," The Grounder says. I know those words, I've heard them before. My heart dropped as he went to pour something onto Lincoln. Just before it could hit Lincoln I held out my hand "Wait!" I shouted. The Grounders pulled out his knife and Bellamy raised his weapon. "Back off!" Bellamy ordered to the Grounder. "Yu gonplei ste odon" I repeated. "What is it?" Clarke asked me. "It's what they say before death," I say. "He's not trying to heal him. He's trying to kill him" I accused the Grounder as he glared at me. "Nyko?" Octavia asked. "Is it true?" She questioned. "Yes. Death is the only way" He answered her. "Hold on. There could be a way to bring him back" Clarke says. "None that I've ever seen," Nyko says before slamming down his knife. "We have to go to! The camps leaving!" Finn suddenly burst through the hatch. "You!" Nyko shot up. "We have to stop—" the Grounder cut him off as he ran at Finn. "Get off him!" Bellamy ordered, pointing his gun at Nyko. "You slaughtered my people!" Nyko screamed, beginning to choke Finn. "Elders. Children. Innocents!" Nyko screamed. "Nyko! You're killing him!" Octavia shouted. "Blood must have blood!" Nyko screamed as I began to look around. "Bellamy! You're not shooting him! No!" Octavia screamed. "Move now!" Bellamy screamed back at her. I picked up the Taser and hit Nyko with it. Octavia turned to Lincoln before rushing over to him. "He's not breathing" she whispered. Clarke and I go to his side and Clarke reached out, touching his neck. "His heart stopped. Move" she ordered Octavia. "I'll start chest compression, Shadow give him mouth to mouth" Clarke ordered. I went to Lincoln's face and opened his mouth as Clarke started CPR. "Now!" Clarke tells me. I breathed a massive breath into Lincoln's mouth before Clarke started again. "Again!" Clarke yelled. I breathed another when Lincoln finally take a breath in and begins gasping and coughing. I throw my head back and sigh "Yes..." I say. "He was dead...." Nyko says. "How did you do that?" He asked. I knit my brows together "You tried bringing back Reapers before?" I asked. He nodded "And they've died like this?" Clarke asked. "What is it?" I asked Clarke. "I know how to stop the attack," Clarke says.
Clarke, Finn, and I walked back to the camp. "Mom!" Clarke called out. "Where have you all been? We're leaving" she ordered. "We know how to stop the attack" Clarke informed her. "What are you talking about?" Jaha asked us. "We haven't been able to negotiate with the Grounders because we haven't had anything to offer them," I say to Abby, completely ignoring Jaha. "The biggest threat they face is from the Reapers. We think we may be able to eliminate that threat once and for all" I explained. "How?" Abby asked. "Abby you can't seriously" Jaha stopped when people begin speaking. We all turned around to see the dozen of torches in the night. "They're here..." Jaha stated. Jaha and Abby rushed us to a meeting room. "They're not attacking yet which means we still have time" I explained. "We have two hours till dawn" Abby pointed out. "Let me talk to the Commander" Clarke suggested. "She was Anyas second so maybe she'll listen" I pointed out. "We don't even know if the Commanders here" Jaha shakes his head. "Yes, we do. Nyko told us" Finn says. "You have to at least let them try" Finn adds. "Abby, we're wasting time," Jaha says. "Give me the authority now" he ordered Abby. "Hold on..." Abby says. "Clarke you said Lincoln is going through withdrawal?" Abby asked. "We don't even know what he's with drawling from" she pointed out. "The detox alone could kill him" she added. "That's where you come in" Clarke smiled. "And if I can't save him?" Abby asked. "That's not an option" I butt in. "We are risking everything on a bluff? Abby... we have an out and we have a way to save the lives of our people" Jaha stated. "Not all of them" I hissed out. Jaha slammed his hands down, shooting up from the chair. "We will come back to save the kids inside Mount Weather!" He shouted. "We all know that's not gonna happen!" I shouted back. "Besides! How many more of them will be dead by then? Huh?" I asked him. "Abby this has gone on long enough. If you do not give the order to begin the Exodus you're killing us all!" He shouted. "You know if Wells was here he'd want—" a sudden sting across my face made me stumble back into Finn a little as tears threaten to spill from my eyes. "Don't you dare....talk about my son!" He hissed. "Thelonious!" Abby shouted at him as I hold my cheek. "I'm sorry..." she turned to him. "I can't give that order," she tells him. "Abby....give the order" he hissed. "No..." Abby says. "I am the elected Chancellor of the Ark. and I am not gonna let you risk the lives of my people do you understand?" He asked her, almost trying to intimidate Abby. "I'm gonna ask you once again...give the order to begin the Exodus" he ordered her. "No. Are you through yet?" Abby asked. He glared at Abby before looking at Clarke and me. "When will you stop letting your daughters run this camp?" Jaha asked. My heart dropped "What?" I asked. Jaha smirked "Oh, Abby didn't tell you?" He asked. "Thelonius, don't" Abby hissed. "Mom what is he talking about?" Clarke asked. He turned to Clarke and me. "Shadow and Izzy are Marcus and Abigail Griffin's daughters," he says. I shake my head "You're lying...Cece was my and Izzy mother" I pointed out. "Mom? Tell me he's lying?" Clarke begged. Abby turned to us "I'm sorry..." she whispered. My stomach turned "I think I'm gonna be sick..." I rushed over to the trash can and threw up into it. " sergeant Miller, sergeant Byrne..." Jaha spoke as he approached the guards. "I am relieving Dr. Griffin of her command," he says. "Place these four into custody but make sure they are ready to leave with the rest of us within the hour" he ordered them. They didn't move "Right now Major!" He screamed. "Or of the blood of everyone in this camp will be on your hands too" he hissed at them both. "Major Byrnes and Sergeant Miller, our Chancellor Jaha in the stockade"Abby ordered them. "Yes Ma'am," they both say. "Everything we did to survive, you're just throwing it all away. Why?" He asked her. "Because I have faith too. In my daughters" Abby announced, only making it more true. "Thank you..." Clarke says. "I'll send a guard serial with you," Abby says. I wipe my mouth with my sleeve. "No. They'll see it as a threat" Clarke pointed out. "We have to do this on our own" Clarke stated. "Finn will take you to Lincoln," I say, not able to look at Abby. "If you're wrong all of us are gonna die" Abby whispered. "We're not wrong about this," I say back.
Clarke and we walked through the Grounders way. Ten Grounders walking next to and behind us. As we approached the tent a large man come closer to us. "If either of you so much as looks at her the wrong way, I will slit your throats" he threatened us. I gulped down before Clarke and I entered into the tent. Grounders we're inside as well and I see a girl about our age sitting on the Thorne "You're the ones who burned 300 of my warriors alive" she spoke, fiddling with the knife in her hand. "You're the one who sent them there to kill us" I blurted out. She slammed the knife down on the arm of the throne. "Do you have an answer for me Clarke and Arabella of the Sky people?" She asked. "We've come to make you an offer," Clarke says. "This is not a negotiation," their Commander says. "Teik ai frag em op en dison laik odon" the woman next to her speaks. The Commander raises her hand. "We can help you beat the Mountain men" Clarke blurted out. "Go on," Their Commander says. "Hundreds of your people are trapped inside Mount Weather. Kept in cages" Clarke says. "Their blood is used as Medicine" Clarke explained. "How do you know this?" The Commander asked. "Because we saw them. Our people are prisoners there too. We were prisoners too" I explained. "Lies!" The woman next to her says. "No one has escaped the mountain" The woman next to her added. "We did. With Anya" Clarke says. "We fought our way out together," Clarke says. "Another lie. Anya died in the fire. You two killed her" The woman next to the Commander says. I shake my head, pulling out the lock of hair Anya had given me right before she died. "She told us you were her second. I'm sure she'd want you to have this" I approach the Commander slowly, giving her the lock of hair before stepping back to Clarke again. "We don't know it's hers" the woman next to the Commander spoke again. "Quiet Indra" the Commander ordered her. "Anya was my mentor before I was called to lead my people" she explained to us. "Did she die well?" She asked, sticking the lock of hair next to her. "Yes," Clarke answered. "By our side, trying to get a message to you" She explained. "What' message?" The commander asked. "The only way to save both of our people is if we joined together" Clarke stated. "Those who are about to die will say anything" Indra then says. "I'm still waiting for an offer," The Commander says. "The Mountain men are turning your people into Reapers. We can turn them back" Clarke says. "Impossible!" Indra shouted. "We've done it. With Lincoln!" I raised my voice over Indra. "That traitor is the reason..." the commander spoke. "Indra!" She shouted. Indra approached me and kept going. "My village was slaughtered by your people" she hissed. "Indra!" The Commander shot up. My breath hitched as Indra glared at me before stopping by the door. The commander walked up to Clarke and me, so close I could see all the war paint clearer. "You say you can turn Reapers back into men?" She asked. Clarke nodded "Yes," she says. "Then prove it" The commander hissed. "Show me Lincoln" she ordered.
We walked with the Commander and a set of Grounders to the dropship. The ashes and bones were everywhere and I go tell they were getting to the Commander. We got to the dropship door "This way" I say to her. We entered the dropship and climbed up the latter. I opened the hatch and stepped inside. Clarke walked in after and then the Commander. My eyes widened when I see Lincoln dead on the floor. We all looked at one another and I looked at the taser on the floor. Indra walked in and see what happened. Bellamy reached for the gun before the Commander nodded to Indra. "I'll kill them all!" Indra shouted. As she took out her sword I reached for the taser and aimed it at Indra as Bellamy took out his gun and raised it. "Please. You don't have to do this" Clarke begged. "You lied," the Commander says. "And you're out of time" she added. I thought for a moment, the taser should bring him back. I rushed over to Lincoln and places the taser on his heart, pressing the button and watching it shock him. Nothing happened "Hit him again!" Abby shouted at me. I did the same thing when suddenly Lincoln gasped for air. I sighed, tossing the taser aside Octavia comes over. "Lincoln?" She whispered. "Octavia..." he says back. We all look at one another and the Commander out away her weapon. All I could think was thank god for this.
We were back at the tent, standing at the war table with the Commander. "Lincolns recovery was...impressive" she slightly smiled. "No one has ever survived such fate before" she explained, fidgeting with her shoulder piece. "It's not complicated, really" Clarke says. "We just have to keep them alive long enough for the drug to leave their system" Clarke explained. "I know we can do the same for others" Clarke added. The commander nodded "You May have your truce" She stated. "Thank you" I smiled at her. "I just need one thing in return," she says. "Tell us," Clarke says. "Deliver me the one you all call Finn. Our truce begins with his death" she informed us. Clarke's face goes white and my heart dropped. Not Finn...
