Nagato asked Konan, worried

Konan answered with just a nod, not taking her eyes off B

while A was fast, his speed was constantly fast, B on the other hand, he was not fast

no, but he had power, explosive power that he could use to impulse himself forward at a burst of speed

from what she could tell, he was using a mix of body flicker, a lightning cloak that was not visible because of the next jutsu, and jinchuuriki chakra cloak

The only good thing is that B was not as used as his brother in fast-paced battles, or else they would be in trouble

'But... was that really the case?'

Konan wondered as she saw Rimuru behind A and B

he was just standing there, menacingly

watching everyone fight for their lives as if they were all just playing in the palms of his hands...

and to be fair, they might as well be...

Shaking her head to get rid of those distracting thoughts, Konan focused on B again

"Bro!

you almost lost to the blueberry and the tomato!

A could tell, B was serious... no, angry was the right word

B heard Hachibi's concerned words

Behind B, another tail of chakra manifested itself, totaling 4

Seeing the 4th tail sprout behind B, Nagato decided that he wasted enough time already, so he rushed at B

but that was not a simple decision, he considered many scenarios, and considering his adamantine chakra chains could absorb some of the massive chakra amounts of the jinchurikki, he was the best choice to fight B

Konan didn't take even a second to also rush at A, paper wings sprouting from her back as she rose above the battlefield and started bombarding A with paper shurikens

Konan and Nagato were at an obvious disadvantage, they are in their village, which means that they cannot use massive attacks, or else it would destroy Uzu

this is also the reason Rimuru had every civilian and low-level ninja evacuate while the fight happened, albeit everyone still didn't want to destroy Uzu

A and B didn't have that concern though

A ran between the paper shuriken flying paths without getting hit once, his speed proving to be much more of a challenge than Konan expected

Nagato was in a better position than her, his chains being deflected by B's chakra tails, but every time his 'preta path' chain hit B's chakra, he would absorb a small part of it, which meant that Nagato could go on forever if nothing changed

B was so focused he didn't even rhyme

A dodged a dozen more paper shurikens before suddenly jumping

Konan's eyes widened in surprise, but she was not too worried

A punched in her direction, but with a simple flap of her wings she flew higher and escaped his attack

'Lightning release: drop kick!'

A didn't falter by missing his attack, instead, he used his momentum to make a frontflip that ended in a dropkick

as soon as his feet hit the ground, cracks spread through the floor, and A was launched upwards with incredible speed

having fought Iwagakure before, A has made several plans to deal with flying opponents

'Lightning straight'

Using his insane speed and the lightning surrounding him, A punched at Konan again, but this time, his punch connected before she could even try to dodge

But to nobody's surprise, Konan turned into a lot of papers that flew away from A, reforming Konan quite a bit away from him

"Tsk, No effect?" A grumbled

a flying opponent is his worst matchup as a nin-taijutsu fighter

Konan kept her face expressionless, but if one looked closely, a blood stain was visible beside her mouth

A didn't know it, but his attack was indeed effective

Nagato was pushing B back, believe it or not

B couldn't commit to any attack, lest he got trapped by those chains, and he couldn't use a bijuudama either because he risked hitting A or someone else he shouldn't

B dodged a chain from his right, used a chakra tail to slap away a chain from above, and jumped back to avoid yet another chain

'Maybe I could use an ink bomb to distract him?' He thought while sidestepping a chain stab

an opponent that can absorb his chakra and also lock him in place using seals... that's a matchup he never dealt with before...

not many people can do even one of those things, but both?

probably just one, he assumed

although, in reality, quite a crowd can do it, but he has no business knowing that

While dodging Nagato's incredibly speedy chains, B upped his tails to a whopping 6, yet it still was not enough to beat the Uzumaki

It seems Uzumakis are truly the bane of the jinchurikkis...

B was far faster than when he started the fight, but he couldn't hit Nagato, it was as if something was pushing his punches away when he attacked and pulling him in when he tried to retreat

truly weird...

But Nagato was also in a bad spot

while his chains did indeed get the powers of the six paths, they aren't nearly as efficient as a rinnegan in using them

so, even though he was absorbing some of B's chakra every so often, and had insane reserves because of his Uzumaki lineage, he was still steadily depleting his chakra

Following Hachibi's words, B saw Konan standing in between him and A

the distance was about 50 meters... but that wasn't much for people on their level

Making eye contact with A, B immediately formed a plan

Albeit A couldn't see B's eyes from that far, he could still see him looking at him, and with how often they worked together, he knew exactly what B was planning

Nagato used his chains to attack B once again, but this time he jumped to his right to dodge

'Weird... WAIT' Nagato immediately noticed the direction of where B moved and body flickered in that direction

B though, while in mid-air, made the last 2 chakra tails emerge from his back, completing the 8

and with a very strong punch to the ground, he made Konan lose her footing for a second

but a second was all A and B needed

Lightning Release: Double Lariat

Running with all of their speed, both B and A rushed at Konan using their famous combination attack

Nagato who used body flicker to arrive near Konan, made his chains defend them like a cocoon, but it wasn't enough

*BAAM* *BAAM*

B empowered by the Hachibi, punched the chains so strongly they were almost all sent flying, but even though his punch was defended it made an opening for A

midway through his attack, A added one more jutsu on top of his lariat

lightning release: hell stab

skipping all the other levels, he went for his strongest, 1 finger hell stab

and when he hit... nothing happened

...

there was no sound of impact, his lightning went through the chains as if they were butter and he pierced Konan on the left side of her stomach

if only she had materialized back WITH her wings, but she didn't for some reason...

perhaps she was worried that A could catch up to her if she tried to fly again, but we will never know

Nagato didn't see where the attack hit, he only saw the blood splatter, and that... that made him angry

pulling much of his chakra, he used his 'deva chain' to send A and B flying, while he used the other chains to protect Konan

but in his anger, Nagato didn't see where he launched them at...

straight into a cliffhanger?
