After Camille derailed the whole hearing, without consulting me first, Belding hauled me to his office and I didn’t leave until a little after night that night. He was understandably upset and by the end of the meeting, Tavi was officially unemployed.

It was the perfect opportunity to come clean about me and Luc but she pinched me hard, a warning not to do it.

“Now’s not the right time,” she hissed when our boss stood up to take a call from his wife. “Don’t be stupid. Just let me take the fall for this one?”

“I have to go. Family emergency,” Belding said, rushing towards the door. “We will pick this up tomorrow.”
