New Rival

"Let go of me!!" Mildred shouted.

After she woke up in an unknown place, Mildred started realizing what is this about. She's been abducted, and she doesn't know why because she's not rich nor a millionaire, so it's a crazy thing when someone dares to kidnap her.

"I have nothing! I am poor—old lady! So, please! Let go of me!!!" She shouted for once.

But no one answered her; instead, she heard footsteps approaching her, Mildred was blindfolded, and her hands and feet were tied up, so she could not move nor see who was coming.

"Who are you!? Why do you want from me!!!"

"You're too noisy," The young man said.

"W-who are you?"

He smirked and pulled the wooden beside him and put it in front of the lady before sitting down. He looks at Mildred before leaning on the chair and putting his hands inside his pockets.

"You don't have to know who I am."

"I'm not rich, and I can't give you anything. My life wasn't good as you thought, so please let me go, and I'll forget that you abducted me."

He laughs after hearing those words, "Let go of you? Do you think that's easy? I'm not stupid to believe you wouldn't report me to the police because I know what you can do, and I am not letting you go."

"But, I can't give you money. I don't have that since I'm just a sick lady who has been fighting cancer for a long time."

"First of all, I don't care. Second, I don't need anything from you, but my boss is."

He took out his cigarette from his pocket and lit it up, "You know I'm doing this for him, but if I'm in the mood, maybe I wouldn't bring you to him."

"And I'm thanking you for doing that," Someone said from behind him.

The young man turned around and saw the person he made a deal with last week. He stood up and greeted him with a grin on his face before throwing his cigarette away.

"I thought you were going to betray me," He said.

Rodrigo smirked, "You have my word, and I'm keeping it, Leo."

"Well, I'm glad you have that kind of stuff, but I bring what you asked me to bring."

Rodrigo looks behind him, and he can't help but smile after seeing how terrified Agatha's mother is. He passed Leo by and walked closer to Mildred, who was trying to find where he was.

"I know you. You are the person who accused my daughter!" She yelled in his face.

"What a surprise? You didn't even see me, but you managed to recognize my voice. Is that one of your abilities, or did you memorize my voice by chance?"

Mildred smirked, "I will never that ugly face of yours! Did you kidnap me because you can't beat me? Or you did this because you can't buy me with your f*cking money!!"

Rodrigo slapped her hard, causing Mildred to fall to the floor, but she endured the pain she was feeling in her right cheek and tried to get up.

"You can't use me to create a trap for my daughter!" She uttered.

"How sure you are?" He chuckled sarcastically, "We both know Agatha loves you so much, and she cannot endure seeing you in pain. She'll come for you even though she's not healed yet."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't tell me she didn't tell you?"

Mildred's eyebrow furrowed, "Tell me what?"

"That she got stabbed for choosing between her father and my son, if you can see how she looks like while having trouble saving both of them."

She suddenly becomes quiet and realizes why her daughter didn't come to see her. She clenched her fist so hard until her nails deepened into her palms, but she ignored the pain coming from the wound made by her.

"She'll love to see you, but a twist because she has to choose between you and my son but instead of killing her, you were the one who's on the line of death situation."

"You can't win me, Mildred, even your prostitute daughter, because no matter what, your daughter did. I'll drag her down."

He covers Mildred's mouth using duct tape before standing up and looking at the person who helped him abduct Agatha's mother.

Maybe he can't stop his son but hurting the girl who is already part of his heart has a significant impact on his son. Rodrigo starts walking and passes Leo by because after this day. He has to think of an excellent plan to defeat his son.

"So, how's your son?" Leo asked after they left the room where Mildred was.

Rodrigo stopped from his tracks and turned around to face the young man, but he was exposed to Leo's annoying grin.

"I don't like that face of yours," He stated.

"What? I didn't do anything."

"Yet, but I know you were planning something, and I will never let you do that."

Leo grinned more expansive, "Are you reading my mind? That's not nice, Rodrigo, because you are crossing the line, and reading my thoughts is one of those."

"I don't care about your privacy but plotting something to take down my son. I wouldn't let you do that," He said.

"I thought we were friends? Aren't we?"

"When did you become my friend? I'm not interested become one of your puppets, so don't include me as one of them. We both know what you did to them, Leo."

Leo chuckled and put his hand inside his pocket while his other hand scratched his jaw. He didn't expect him to know about those pieces of information.

"You did a great job digging information about me, huh? Don't tell me you are interested in me?" He teased him.

"Don't play with me, Leo."

"What? I'm not playing with you. I'm just stating the fact that you did a great job. That's a compliment, dude!" Leo said and patted his shoulder.

But he wasn't happy or playing with him. Rodrigo knew joining hands with him was a bad idea, but he needed someone professional doing this kind of stuff.

"You know, I'm grateful for your son's success because he even has a gorgeous mate and a loyal pack except for Maverick."

"What did you just say?"

Leo smirked right in front of his face, "Are you deaf or what? I said, Agatha is gorgeous and I'm dying to meet her."

"Do you secretly investigate my son's life? Or you did that on purpose?"

"Maybe," Leo shrugged his shoulder, "All I can say is Zeus was lucky.

He began his first step and stopped closer to Leo before pointing his finger directly into Leo's face.

"You're crossing the line, Leo."

The young man removed Rodrigo's fingers, pointing to his face, and chuckled, "Don't be afraid. I'm not going to steal your son's mate. I just wanted to taste her a little bit."

"Besides, dragging down your son wasn't easy, so don't think I can kill him easily. He's tougher than I thought, and defeating Zeus needs a lot of time to think."

"You!"

"Maybe he steals that position from me, but he can never win the battle. I am strong than him and worthy of that position. I will show Zeus who's the right person and let his pack see what kind of alpha he is," He uttered.

Leo steps backward with a grin written on his face. His hands are inside his pockets, and he walks back without leaving Rodrigo's gaze.

"We may join hands to cut your son and his mate's bound, but we can't get along as I want to, so I have to endure seeing you and finish the job you offer me."

"But if you changed your mind and wanted to become my friend, I must accept you in my league."

That's all he said before disappearing in front of Rodrigo like a bubble. However, Rodrigo wasn't surprised to see how fast he disappeared because he knew what can Leo do that Zeus couldn't, and that made him terrified.

But his thoughts cut when his phone rang. He answered it without looking who the caller was.

[I'm going home.]

His eyes widened, "What?"

[I said, I'm going home to meet our son and his wife.]

"I not deaf! Why are you suddenly coming home?"

[Nothing, I want to see our son.]

[Maybe you forgot, I am Zeus's mother, and I still have responsibilities with our son. So, you can't stop me from visiting him or seeing him.]

After his wife said those words, she ended the call causing Rodrigo to wipe his face in annoyance because his misfortune started one by one. Now he created his son's new rival, hating himself for doing it rougher for his son.

He put back his phone inside his pocket and continued his tracks. Rodrigo still had business to deal and dealing with his son's wife was his priority, but he had to make it smoother.

"I'm doing this for you, my son. So, please understand me."
