Chapter 17 - Back in the Sect

"Senior Brother, you are back!" said Yu Guanyu when she noticed Xue Yang climbing the stair to the sect compound. Her mouth rises a little, forming a gentle form of a smile.

Yu Guanyu has been waiting for Xue Yang since the sun rises. She has not started her daily training.

She soon realizes that Xue Yang is holding two unconscious people at his shoulders.

"Ah! Senior brother, who are they!?" shouted Yu Guanyu. Her eyes widen in shock.

"Yes, I am back," smiled Xue Yang. "Don't worry, these two are- Hmm, how to say it... they are fellow disciples here."

"Are they okay?"

"Yup, they should be okay."

Not long after Xue Yang started sprinting, both Guo Xianhu and Guo Lingxin fainted. When Xue Yang noticed it, he checked their body. After he found out that both were fine, he continued to run.

"Where are Zhang Hao and Liu Mei?" asked Xue Yang. He continued walking to the guest room, wanting to unload Guo Xianhu and Guo Lingxin.

"Zhang Hao is still training. Liu Mei is observing him," said Yu Guanyu.

"Liu Mei is observing Zhang Hao?"

"Yes, they are in the dormitory yard right now."

Xue Yang opens the door to the guest room. There are four guest rooms in this sect compound. Two of them have a single bed inside. Meanwhile, the other rooms have two beds in each room.

He then placed Guo Xianhu and Guo Lingxin on two different beds in the same room.

"Okay. So, did anything happen when I was away?" asked Xue Yang. He patted Yu Guanyu's head at the same time.

"Nothing happened."

"Is that so? Let's go to the yard then…." Xue Yang then continued, "Zhang Hao is training now, did you finish your training already?"

"Eh- I waited for senior brother in the front gate."

Hearing that, Xue Yang ruffled Yu Guanyu's hair.

"Ah! I am sorry senior brother! I will train, I will train right now. Don't play with my hair," Yu Guanyu pouted. Her already tidy hair becomes a little messy again.

Xue Yang gives Liu Mei the book that contains Never-ending Blossom Breathing Technique.

Liu Mei take the book but then her already pink face turned red. She said softly, "Senior brother, I- I can't read."

Xue Yang is surprised, he then looked at Yu Guanyu. "Yu Guanyu, can you read?"

"I can! But only a little."

"How much is a little? Can you read that book?"

Yu Guanyu can only shake her head.

"Do you think Zhang Hao can read?" asked Xue Yang to both Yu Guanyu and Liu Mei.

"He can't read," said Yu Guanyu.

"Yes, he said that before," added Liu Mei.

Xue Yang sighed, "Well…. This is a problem."

Xue Yang should have expected this. But for some reason, he thought that it is normal for children to be able to read.

His memory of the modern novel must be the one that makes him think that way. If Xue Yang tried to remember his experience in the Silk Sword Sect, he will notice that he couldn't read before. Then there was a time when he gets taught how to read and write in the sect.
