"Senior brother!"

Hearing the boy's voice, Xue Yang slowly opened his eyes. Beside him are three small children. Two of them are girls, while the other one is a boy. All have clean faces, but drops of sweat can be seen on their faces.

Looking at their face, Xue Yang is confused. He didn't know any one of them. Not only that, did he get called as a senior brother?

'What is with that way of calling? Are we shooting a historical drama right now?' thought Xue Yang. But it should not be possible. He is a normal man, not an actor. He just finished his higher studies last year. And he has had a normal office job in these last three months.

Xue Yang then looked around the wooden room. He also feels the room is not familiar. His room is a white painted small room. On one side of the wall, there are three posters of his favorite show. Not only that, one of the posters comes from a limited campaign.

"Senior brother! You wake up!" exclaimed a girl with long black hair. She has an oval face with round eyes. Her appearance gives way for strangers to judge that she is a gentle girl.

Xue Yang wanted to ask the kids where is this place. But suddenly, he felt a pain in his head. Many images of memory flashed rapidly in his brain. That image followed a life journey of a boy. It starts from his childhood memory. Followed by when the boy joins a sect, starts cultivation, and lastly, the image of that man dying.

Beads of sweat formed on his face. Xue Yang understands that he is now on a body he didn't own. And most likely, he is in another world.

That disciple then put poison in the water source that was used in the sect. The aftermath of that act is they succeeded in poisoning all of the disciples, from the low-ranked one to the sect master.

The poison work by clogging the spiritual energy path inside the body. That way, a disruption happens inside the body of a cultivator. And from how the poison act, it is more effective toward a person with a high cultivation level.

That is why the children in front of Xue Yang are still alive. The poison didn't work for people that don't have any spiritual energy. Those children have only joined the sect for a few weeks and haven't started their cultivation.

When the sect master noticed the scheme of betrayal, he tried to fight back. Too bad the poison has been ingested by all people in the sect, the sect master included. Most of the disciples in the sect have been rendered immobile, so the sect master can only fight alone against many people. Unfortunately, there is only so much that one person can do. And it led to the last breath of the sect master.

The unconscious disciples are then killed by the betrayer and his supporter from that outside power.

Xue Yang himself is a low-ranked disciple that has only joined for a few years. His cultivation has only reached the upper tier of the second stage, the Qi Condensation stage.

After regaining some strength, Xue Yang decided to look around the sect. Alongside him are the three surviving children. Now, they are going to the library and the weapon storage to see if something is still left. Only after that will he think about what to do next.

When they reach the library, its doors have been opened.

"Follow behind me, be careful someone might still be inside," said Xue Yang to the children. All three of them give a nod as the answer.

Xue Yang's strength is not high, but he is the strongest person in this place right now. He needs to take the lead. No matter what, he is still the senior brother of the children. Protecting them is the least he needs to do.

Going inside, Xue Yang sees that the shelves have been wiped clean. Not one bamboo slip was spared. From the beginner qi gathering technique to the more advanced weapon technique, all of them have disappeared from this library.

"This place is empty too," said the girl with long hair, Yu Guanyu.

Xue Yang has learned the name of the children. He asked them before they went around the sect. The boy is called Zhang Hao, and the short-haired girl is called Liu Mei.

Just like Yu Guanyu said, this place is empty.

"Well, nothing we can do. Let's move to other places," said Xue Yang.

Xue Yang is ready to exit the second floor when he saw a glint of green light in the corner of his eye. In an instant, he turns his head and finds a little Jade Slip laid on one of the shelves.

"Wait, something is there."

The three children turned to Xue Yang, that pointed to the jade slip.

"Ah, that is right!" exclaimed the boy, Zhang Hao.

"What a beautiful colored stone," said the girl with short hair, Liu Mei

"You are right. It is so beautiful," said Zhang Hao

Meanwhile, Yu Guanyu is looking straight at the green-colored thing. She then whispered, "A jade?"

This is the first time Zhang Hao and Liu Mei have ever seen a jade. Meanwhile, Yu Guanyu coming from a wealthier family has seen jade before. Well, not a jade slip, just a normal jade, the gemstone.

"Is this your first time seeing it? This gem is called jade. Because this jade is stored in the library, I expect that this one is a jade slip."
