It's already late afternoon, and now Ellyss needs a fire, she's knowledgeable of magical phenomena from her first lives, so she attempts to dry herself as well as she can, collect some more branches and carry them to a nearby tree, she then tries to raise the temperature of the branches... But she's unsuccessful, her magic is too undeveloped, no, it's too weak, bluntly saying, she couldn't raise the temperature more than 10° Celsius, far from lighting a fire, she swiftly makes a bow, drill and a base, with a somewhat curved branch, the rope from earlier and 2 other pieces of wood, she starts drilling and, to maximize her chances, focuses in raising the temperature where the tip of the drill and the base connect, Ellyss struggles a little, with the fatigue of the previous fight, but she succeeds after a some tries.

Ellys, now hungry, thirsty and with sore muscles, but with an iron will she gets herself up, hurriedly crafts another blade with a flint, and carefully starts to skin and dismantle the little beast, spilling the least amount of blood as possible, she tosses the intestines far away, and sets the fresh meat to cook by the fire, while the meat cooks, she carefully scrapes the residual meat in the hide, this takes hours, it's already evening and by then the meat is well done, the way she wanted, she did this to eliminate any persistent harmful substance and microorganism, but even then, she can't be sure of whether the meat is 100% safe to eat. Luck doesn't exist, if something does or doesn't, if it is or isn't all depends on innumerable variables, some of which are unknown, the disease, parasite, bacteria, virus..., proliferation, infection, fatality rate..., resistance to high temperatures, whichever humans can be infected by them, the host's immunologic system, etcetera. If someone knows all possible variables and scientific rules, it is theoretically possible to predict anything.

So Ellyss is betting on the variables she knows, the fact that the creature seemed healthy and hadn't any external wounds, the fact she cooked well done the meat and her immunologic system.

She places the hide on a branch directly on top of the fire, to preserve and make it waterproof, while she eats.

After eating the meat she waits for the hide to properly smoke, after an hour she starts working on it again, she gnaws, to tan it, and minutes later, it could be finally considered leather. She doesn't use it for something like clothes though, the beast was small, all she could do was a few stripes of leather with which she made a small belt that could hold 3 knives and a bag, but the work didn't end there.

She gathered a few smooth looking stones and placed them by the fire, while they heat, Eliss runs to the shore of the lake, on a soft sedimented ground, she starts digging not too far nor too close to where the water reaches, she digs below the lake's water level, and, slowly, water starts to fill the hole, Eliss grabs a straight and a forked branch, then grabs one of the heated stones and throws it in the water filled hole, the water starts to bubble, she grabs and throws another stone and, after, collect some water in the leather bag, the bag isn't sewed, it's just the creature's back hide folded with 2 straps of leather made into shoulder straps, she brings the bag with the water back, it has some residue of the sediments, but it's the better she could do to boil water without a proper container, she left it to cool down for a few minutes, and drank it right after. She will further work with the creature's carcass tomorrow, it was already night.

She doesn't plan to stay here for long, tomorrow she'll explore, with a plan in mind, she climbs the tree and lays down to sleep on a branch.

Not going to lie, writing a novel takes a lot of effort, those who do it everyday sure have my respect; anyhow, how is mine so far? You can give me your opinions and points in which I could improve on.
