Stranger Things: Journey into the Twisted Mind

Some people exist with pride, others fight with pride, some compete with pride, and others fail with pride, but few can resign with pride. When you finish reading this paragraph, congratulations! You have imagined how this last case would be. Surveying the Surroundings

The fun ended when Jonathan woke up in a new body. There weren't many things that excited him; everything seemed very boring, and only now were things becoming more interesting.

"Will your father scold you if you're late getting home?" Jonathan glanced at Yina, who didn't seem very at ease in this place.

Yina looked at Jonathan and said, "It doesn't matter; they can call me if they think I'm late, although they never have."

They were kids, and Yina seemed to be getting more excited by the moment, which strangely made Jonathan even more comfortable. 'I'm not interested in a girl, but I am in someone who has superpowers, and even more so coming from a family where each member stands out for it.'

Jonathan was an adult in a child's body, even though he didn't remember his entire past life. He was aware that his mental age was much older than that of high school children.

When they entered the video game room, Jonathan chose a private one, paid for everything, and returned with bags of junk food. "Do you want pizza? I ordered some, and they'll bring drinks later too."

"That's a lot of food." Yina felt overwhelmed by the amount of food Jonathan had in his arms; she had never eaten so much in her life.

"Look, I brought you a hair tie." Jonathan showed Yina how they should tie their hair so that it wouldn't bother them while playing video games.

Yina had never bothered to style her hair, but now that Jonathan had mentioned it, she wanted to try. "My hair is very short; I don't think I can make a ponytail like yours."

"Let me help you." Jonathan wanted special friends, not common friends who could never understand him.

"I can do it myself." Yina wanted to refuse, but before she knew it, Jonathan was behind her, gathering her hair into a not-too-big ponytail.

Jonathan smiled and said, "You're much prettier than any stuck-up girl who thinks she's cute but is more common than normal."

'Don't you feel embarrassed saying that?' Yina wanted to ask this question, but she stayed silent, looking at the computer screen in front of her.

"I've been researching on the deep web, but I haven't found anything similar to our cases. This indicates that we are few and well hidden from the public eye." Jonathan began talking while they played video games.

"Why are you so interested in finding someone like you?" Yina asked this important question.

Jonathan fell silent, looked at Yina, and said, "Because I don't want to feel so special; I think that would ease my arrogance and superiority a bit. The illness I suffer from because of my powers is feeling superior, arrogant, and having zero empathy for others if I don't know them."

This was true; he didn't know if it was the consequences of his power, but he had changed a lot to the point of being able to kill easily.

As the hours passed, Jonathan and Yina's distant relationship grew much closer. During that time, they both talked about their private lives.

Yina told Jonathan about her family's powers; she discovered that Yina's father can travel to the past through memories, maintaining a fixed concentration on positive emotions. Her aunt can fly, and her grandmother can see the future through dreams.

These powers could be very impressive, but they had all been lost due to the consequences of exposure to the modern age. The woman who flies is now obese, the grandmother who sees the future stopped dreaming, and Yina's father could never travel to the past again.

She told him how her father had changed after her mother's death, going from being a good father to becoming a man addicted to alcohol who alleviates his sorrows that way.

Only now did Jonathan know why Yina blamed herself for the consequences of the past, in which she wasn't directly involved. It's sad how a structured family ends up in a state like this; he supposed that all those problems they've been accumulating were destroying the family that was once perfect.

The worst part was that Yina blamed herself for her mother's death; she was convinced that her father hated her for being born and had never spoken to her family as he did before.

Jonathan, on the other hand, didn't have a very interesting story; naturally, he told Yina that his problems were very different because his power gave him the ability to use his brain 100%, making him very different from ordinary people because he had access to infinite information that he could process in seconds.

Who learns a language just by hearing a few words?

Who can read hundreds of thousands of words in less than a minute and process all that information to store it in their brain?

Jonathan's brain stimulation prevented him from feeling satisfaction or joy for minimal actions that might seem incredible to someone else. He found pleasure in eliminating targets, playing video games, and manipulating the weak.

When they finished playing, it was already dark. Since they lived in a place with residential houses, there were few people on the streets where they lived.

"Do you want me to take you?" Jonathan extended his hand, wanting to give Yina a glimpse of his true power.

Yina looked at Jonathan's hand and asked, "Won't we be seen?"

"Don't worry, the cameras in this area are broken because of the gang members."

"Well..." Yina had heard her aunt talk about the feeling of flying; she knew Jonathan didn't fly, but he could move at superhuman speeds.

Jonathan, when he saw Yina's hand reaching out to him, took it, told her to hold on tight, and took a deep breath before jumping hundreds of meters.

Crack!

The ground beneath where he was fractured, and in a single second, they disappeared from the spot.

'What is this?' Yina reacted seconds later, but at that moment, they were hundreds of meters above the ground.

Jonathan couldn't fly; he wasn't that strong yet, but he could move at superhuman speeds in the air by propelling himself through jumps and barriers with his telekinesis.

Boom!

"We'll be there in a few seconds." Jonathan muttered this as he propelled himself in the air and shot off at an imperceptible speed.

'I'm going to die...' Yina didn't scream, but she held onto Jonathan's neck tightly as he seemed to be enjoying himself.

Crack!

When the air temperature became lighter, Jonathan, who was now in Yina's backyard, whispered to her, "We've arrived..."

"Oh..." Yina staggered back, feeling a little dizzy and disoriented.

"I think you should sit down. I came as fast as I could, but I think that might cause you some dizziness." Jonathan muttered this, looking at Yina's pale face.
