Chapter 12

(A.N. I know nothing about US military bases or the military itself so this is not going to be accurate. This chapter was a real struggle to write. It's not the best and I hated every second of it but it's important for later plot so bear with the cringe. Plus we lost power in our house and can't get an electrician here until Monday. Writing this on a phone is painful.)

Coming to West point we see what we were hoping to see. The academy is huge as expected but what we were looking for was the armory, place that could be storing drones and anything else that could be useful for our teams.

After looking over the building and seeing the huge amount of zombies we headed to small building that looks like it used to be a church to set up our plan. It will probably take us a few day to find what we are looking for and the amount of zombies wasn't going to help. The stealth approach will also slow us down. Finding the main office with a map of where everything was store was the current goal.

"Alright what's the plan?"I ask Tim.

"My plan is to follow your plan."

"That's a terrible plan."

"Well we either find the library or the main offices." Tim pulls out a map that he has drawn after riding around the area a bit while I cleared out the zombie in our temporary base. "I am taking a guess that this building has the main offices but it a big building. This one here looks like a library. It might have old maps and blueprints of that base layouts."

"Blueprints and maps would help us narrow down the location of the armory." I tap the map where the library is. "My concern is that there will be at least one boss zombie of some kind somewhere."

"Boss zombies? How strong are they?"

"Don't know, haven't faced any yet in the dungeon. They were hard before I upgraded the dungeon. I nearly died taking on one the first time." I pull the Bag of Senzu Beans out of my inventory and hand two to Tim. "This will completely heal you of any injury and restore your stamina. Keep it on you incase you need it."

"What happens if I died here?"

"You'll end back at home at the time we left wounded and exhausted but alive."

"Have you died in here before?"

"Yeah, I got overwhelmed by a hord. It wasn't the most pleasant experience and I am lucky I have these." I shake the bag for emphasis before putting it back in my inventory.

"What happens if you die and I'm still in here?"

"I have know idea and I don't want to find out."

We head to the library leaving our bike behind to keep the zombies for being alerted to us. The library was surprisingly intact only a few broken window.

After heading inside we do a full sweep of the building it taking some time to get it done since there is a lot of rows. Killing any zombies we find and looking for anything that might help us find what we are looking for.

In a locked room at the back of the library on the second floor after breaking in we find what appears to book where the blueprints of the buildings and maps of the base. Most very old and a few newer ones. (A.N. I honestly doubt the military would be this stupid to have such important documents in such a location and if they did I pity the fools but the story must go on.)

Laying out that maps and looking through the blueprints with Tim and time we deduce that the armory is away for the barracks. Making sense incase there is a fire or whatever. Putting the paper's in my inventory for later use we head to the location of the armory and scout the area around it.

The area seems to have quite a lot of zombies so sneaking past will be difficult. After discussing our option we decide that I'll turn into a bird and fly to the roof while Tim grapples him way up. Tackling the roof from above should give us an advantage.

That being said the best laid plans and all that.

Tim and I decided to eat something before starting the next part of our mission. I draw the ramen from Naruto, two sweet cakes from Skyrim and Nuka-cola from Fallout.

After eating and drinking we start the mission.

Everything starts off well with us getting to the roof and gaining access to the top floor. Taking the building floor by floor clearing it's strike team style. Stealth, quick, clean. Of course our luck doesn't last.

Tim and I are crouching on the stairs quietly smacking each other like children. On the ground level we come face to face with a small horde surrounding a much larger zombie. I change into an Australian Wedge-tail eagle to get a better look. carefully and quietly as possible I check around the corners. Before heading back to Tim.

The large zombie is most differently a boss it's an army officer of some kind. I change back.

"Thats a boss down there. Couldn't tell you how strong."I whisper in Tim's ear trying to be as silent as possible. "Both entry ways are blocked off. I'm guessing someone got bit and didn't say any after they blockaded themselves in."

"We'll have to take it on. It's right in front of where we need to go." He pull out a copy of the blueprint he had made earlier and point out the entrance of a second elevator we need to get to. It is the only way down.

"So we use the stairs as our high and funnel then?"

"I would say that's our best bet."

"Right." I start siking myself up. "I'll be bait. See you in a bit."

I run down the stairs weapons drawn and stop at the bottom.

"LEEROY JENKINS!" I start killing the zombies that rush me before turning tail back up the stairs.

The zombie act as we expected stumbling up the stairs. We pick the off working as a team covering each others back fighting side by side swapping sides when needed and using each other as weapons. It takes us a good 15 minutes to wipe out the small horde and but the end of it we are bothe panting for breath and tired.

As we lean on each other for support we he an ungodly roar.

"Shit!" We both rush down the stairs to take on the boss before the zombie horde it's calling to it get here and through the door.

Its waiting for us in the middle of the room staring at the stairs. Tim and I separate to attack it from two sides. For such a large zombie it's moves quickly. We work together to attack while its focused on the other person and dodge when it's attacking ourselves.

It takes us another 15 or so minutes to kill it. I grab the loot it drops not looking at it while Tim forces the elevator doors open and shots a grapple into the top of the shaft. The zombie's that the boss called have just about gotten through the blockade run up to hug Tim who grabs my waist and we jump down the shaft letting the grapple catch us.
