Startled by the door opening I looked up to an unexpected surprise.
Looking down from above me was an old extremely fat man. I could only see part of his head. However, I knew he was obese due to the double chin and the fat on his forehead.
*cough*
"Someone help me!" The man shouted.
The shout that the fat man announced finally woke Luke up from his terror.
Luke was shocked by the loudness of his voice and he was stunned for a few seconds before he got his emotions under control.
"Luke you have to help him," I said pointing at the man.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Luke replied annoyed.
Yet after saying that Luke began chanting his spell to help the man.
"$#%@"
*FOOOM*
Once Luke finished his entire body irrupted into flames just as he had when he got angry with Ralph.
"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME!?" The fatty screamed at the sight of Luke turning to flame.
Luke ignore the scene around him in order to accomplish his goal.
***
Luke didn't want anyone else to have to die after what he saw.
He knew it was not his fault that Sam burnt to death. There was no way he would kill one of the only people he cared for.
When he was arrested something broken in him. Something that was always there even though he never tried to show it; his innocence.
When he saw the faces of all the people that were at the crime scene the anger he felt was unmessurable. Those people had never care for Sam yet now that she was dead they felt pity.
It was hypocritical.
They were all hypocrites.
They were the ones to blame.
The rundown part of the town is completely separated from what Wingston shows. It's as if the people don't even claim the ones who live there.
Sam was orphan who was abandoned and had to grow up in the slums. No one was there for her, and she didn't have a family nor anyone who would worry about her wellbeing.
One night after getting into a pretty bad fight with his father Luke run and ran until he couldn't. Eventually he found himself is the towns slums. It was a place he was told to never go, and that it was a place where all the bad people went.
Yet Luke didn't care he just didn't want to go back home so he explored the area and it surpised him.
He meet many people who were walking around yet non bothered him and they just minded thie rown buessnes.
Their clothes were so poor that they barley cover their private places while others didn't even have anything to cover themselves.
While walking around in the new environment he discover the hardships that the people went through.
Not only did they not have clothes to cover themselves to keep warm but they were living in broken down houses and on the streets.
It was an extremely depressing sight, expesscally for Luke who is a mage and is able to use magic without hand signs which makes him a genius among geniuses. Because of this he was gifted so many things not only by his parents but by the town.
This was their way of pressuring him into becoming a greate mage who would go on to represent the town.
No one really cared for him.
Luke was just everyone's investment.
So seeing the pain and hardship that the people in the slums went through he vowed that he would do all that he could to get the power to help them.
And thats what he did for a long time. He would train constantly and learn his father's magic. That way when he grew up he could donate all that he got to make the slums even greater than the town that blocked them off.
Yet the idea changed when he met Sam.
When he meet Sam she was sleeping on the side of the road without food and was on death's door.
He feed her and cared for her until she was healthy enough to protect herself.
After Luke's first visit he went back to the slums every time that he could in order to give some of the people clothes and food.
So seeing a girl his age that was going through so much pain he gave her some food and clothes and they quickly became friends.
After a while Luke would only go to the slums to spend time with her instead of help the people.
Of course he still brought supplies for them yet the goal in his head was different.
It had changed.
Luke no longer wanted to give the people of the slums riches but instead liberate them.
This was all because of the question Sam asked him.
"Why do you think we live here? Sure society rejects us and we have nothing to our names. Yet not one single person from here has ever made it into the real part of the 'town'. Why do you think that is?"
She never told him the answer but when he was locked up in jail he finally understood.
That was because he joined them for a short moment of time.
Luke a great mage who was above all others at his age and could do the unbelievable was the same as the ones that were without clothes and starving on the streets.
It wasn't because he was in jail.
No, it was because he had gave up.
Hope.
That was the answer.
Hope was what the people there lost.
No one had ever freed themselves from what they were going through because they all lost hope in ever achieving it.
He didn't have a romantic relationship with Sam but rather and teacher and student one.
Even though Sam was the same age as Luke her views of the real world brought truth to Luke's sheltered one.
He wanted to learn what she had to go through and see just how cruel the future he would grow up to be in would be like.
As he learned more and more he changed more and more. He lost all respect for the his parents, the mayor, and anyone who wouldn't stand for the people of the slums.
The feeling he felt for them slowly turned to anger.
As day after day passed where he couldn't do anything for them and they continued to suffer as others would only watch.
Then the day came when some of the kids in his nieghborhood followed him and trapped him. When they tried to attack him and Sam he lost all sense of care and just felt absolute anger at them.
Then everything went dark and when he woke up he was being accused of killing them.
HIM
THEY WERE THE ONES WHO ATTACKED SAM AND HIM. THEN THE PEOPLE ONLY CARE ABOUT SAM AFTER HER DEATG. WHILE THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING AND ONLY WATCHED AS THE PEOPLE SUFFERED YET HE WAS BEING ACCUSED OF HARMING THEM!
He knew he didn't kill the boys that attacked him. Especially, not Sam.
What was left of his childhood was lost at the moment.
The only feeling he had in his heart was rage and revenge.
He was angry at the town for abandoning those who were lesser then them.
But above all, he wanted revenge for Sam. He would spend the rest of his life hunting down the one who killed Sam and make him pay for his sins.
Seeing the death of Sam and the boys who were colaterall he was done with the pain.
He had seen enough pain over the time he spent when he was in the slums and he didn't want anyone else to have to go through it.
With this idea he made a vow. One he promised to Sam.
He would end all the suffering in the world.
***
Yet right after he promised this he saw a bloody scene.
Horses were bleeding out and dying in front of him while a carriage carrying people was toppled over on its side smashed into the side of the road.
What did the world have against him? Was Luke cursed to only be around people who were in pain.
He froze up at the situation and the possibility that another person could have died in front of him.
Then out of the blue he heard a loud shout the woke him up.
The man was alive!
He was alive!
He had to save him in order to keep his promise.
When he was reminded of this by the leech beside him he grew angry for a second before remembering his goal.
With a new passion he cast the spell which he had been using for so long and always relied on.
"Star power 2 'Inferno Body'"
