Issue 85: A New Age Part 22

Peter was currently helping to tie up the last group of Dark Elves when he saw it. A ship that belonged to Thanos was floating in the distant vacuum of space.

If not for his ability to sense Chi, he would have completely missed it due to its advanced cloaking technology.

A massive beam of energy was gathered at the ship he spotted before it suddenly fired on Asgard.

Odin intercepted the blast while Thor continued to slay Dark Elves by the dozen.

"I hope Thanos isn't on that…" Peter thought before an explosion containing the 4 classical elements shot out of the royal castle.

At the end of the blast was none other than one of Thanos' children. Corvus Glaive wearing to be what looked like a highly advanced exo-suit.

"Mary Jane!" Peter shouted in worry, mostly because he knew just how powerful the Glaive that the child of Thanos was carrying.

He flew over with his boot thrusters igniting and broke the sound barrier more than a few times over before he slammed his fists into the villain with a full power Super Man punch.

While his body was flung off into the distance, Peter looked down and saw the smoke clear. MJ was gripping her hip while both the Queen and Jane supported her, both also wearing duplicates of the Spiderling suit.

[Minutes Earlier]

MJ, Jane, Loki, and Frigg looked on as the child of Thanos walked into the room.

"Where is the infinity stone?!" Corvus growled with lethal intent, "I will give you one chance to tell me. If you comply, I will grant you a swift death, if you don't…"

The tall ashen skinned alien that looked like a withered old goblin with shark teeth suddenly lifted his weapon in hand and grinned, "I'll let you experience torture beyond your wildest imaginations."

MJ lifted a brow as she asked, "What hole did you crawl out from? You're even paler than Loki here."

"Silence, Woman! That is Corvus Glaive! He is one of Thanos' children, and you must never underestimate him! That blade can cut through anything, and he cannot die so long as he wields it!" Loki shouted.

"The puny god is right, so tell me where the Infinity Stones are. Don't think you can lie to me either, my scanners picked up the radiation of all six! Oh, and Loki? Thanos will have words with you when I'm finished with them."

Loki gulped, "Mother…run."

"Can't believe I'm doing this," Jane sighed as she placed her hand on the barrier.

Loki lifted an eyebrow and smirked, "Well, maybe I was wrong about you Earthlings. This may be the smartest thing you've done yet."

While the Trickster God placed his hand against the barrier, he snatched energy from Jane to activate his magic. 

The barrier cracked and fell apart as he cracked his knuckles and said, "Do you have a weapon I can use?"

Frigga nodded her head as she looked to the side and ran to a weapon box that carried Thor's old swords. They were unnamed, made of Uru, and granted no unique properties to the wielder, but they were more than enough for Loki and herself to use.

"Are you done?" Corvus smirked, "I'm glad you've chosen the path of resistance, it just makes things more fun for me."

He suddenly dashed in front of queen, ready to cleave her head from her shoulder when MJ covered his face in organic webing.

Frigga managed to dodge his blind swing before the Spider-Heroine passed copies of her Symbiote to Loki and Frigga.

"Ooh, I feel amazing in this!" Loki grinned before he slugged Corvus, and since the villain he was trying to rip the webbing from his face, he took the full brunt of the blow.

"It is quite a noticeable change. Does this strange being amplify all of my abilities?" Frigga asked.

"I also have a host of powers you can use," Spiderling informed.

As the villain slid back a few feet, Loki twirled his short swords and held it backwards before he swung, spinning while trying to cut off his opponent's head with one quick slash.

In response to nearly having his head cut off, Corvus backed up while he ripped not only the webbing but a good portion of his skin from his face. Once he could see again, he swung his glaive with full force.

Loki knew better than to clash with the alien's weapon. He slid his blade along the surface of the glaive before he knelled close to the ground and let his blade tear into the child of Thanos, slashing across the villain's waist and drawing blood as he hopped back onto his feet. 

MJ hopped over Loki and shot a blast of lightning around her foot, boosting her speed as she vaulted into Corvus. Her shoulder bash knocked the wind out of him before she back flipped and kick the underside of his chin with enough momentum to land on the roof.

While she peered down on him from above, Mary Jane shot dozens of web bullets at him, giving Frigga enough time to move to Corvus' side and attempt to cut him in half.

Corvus leapt back and pulled out a pin from a grenade he was wearing on his waist before threw it at Jane.

"I should take care of the weak link first," Corvus thought as he waited for the grenade to detonate.

However, MJ managed to web it to the roof, far enough away from Jane to see it not exploding but collapsing into a miniature black hole.

"No fucking way?" Jane shouted in fear.

Loki shivered, "As usual, all the children of Thanos carry terrifying technology and weapons."

"Was that a grenade that can create a singularity?" MJ couldn't help but gulp. She was never gladder that her senses warned her of such dangers.

"I think we should avoid that one from now on," Frigga readied her weapon before a series of magical runes appeared around her weapon.

The child of the Mad Titan rushed forward. All his wounds had seemingly vanished before he struck out with his weapon."

Everyone kept the distance as he lobbed another Black Hole Grenade at them.

Thankfully, MJ and Jane's webbing and aim were enough to launch them further away. 

"Jane! Keep your distance and let Spiderling handle the shooting!" MJ shouted as she jumped back, avoiding the glaive that was thrown into the roof.

As she landed, Corvus yanked his weapon free from the roof and tried to slash MJ across the neck in a downward position. 

Frigga shot a bolt of pure Asgardian magic that slammed into the villain, knocking him off course while MJ blasted him with Chi infused lightning.

Corvus took the blow, but he didn't slow down at all. He landed on the floor and rushed in before he started attacking with the skills that he had built up over the thousands of years he worked under Thanos.

His first target was none other than Loki.

The brother of Thor did everything he could to avoid the weapon in the albino alien's hand and tried to strike back many times. However, it was clear that he wasn't fast enough to deal with his opponent in one-on-one combat.

After all, he was dealing with a trickster, not a warrior. 

The moment Corvus thought he had slashed through Loki, it was revealed that it was only an illusion to confuse him while the real Loki tried to slash off the arm holding the glaive.

The child of Thanos was quicker than the Trickster anticipated. While the others tried to attack, he let off another BH-Grenade and tilted his weapon fast enough to strike at Loki's throat.

The Norse god tried to dodge but felt the sting of the glaive slash through the upper half of his torso.

"Loki!" Frigga jumped and shot a blast of energy from the tip of her sword, but Corvus rolled across the ground and attempted to cleave the woman's legs off.

Mary Jane leapt from the ground and drop kicked the villain directly to the side of his cheek while Frigga moved to grab Loki.

While he was falling to the side, Corvus threw his glaive at Jane, forcing Spider-Woman to rush off to deflect it.

The moment she got close enough to grab it, the child of the Mad Titan moved to her side and punched her with all of his strength.

MJ went flying and smashed into the ground before she saw the tip of the Glaive heading towards her face.

She rolled back and hopped back on to her feet at the same time Corvus changed the direction of his swing and tried and run Spider-Woman through the heart.

MJ webbed to the side of the wall and pulled herself out of the way. However, she couldn't avoid the blow completely.

The glaive tore through her side before she felt an intense pain from both her and the Symbiote she wore.

Gripping her head, MJ quickly calmed Spiderling down before having to back flip to avoid the deadly glaive piercing through leg.

While she dodged, Frigga and Loki attacked together, only to be stopped by the monster with one hand.

Frigga then cast a spell to enhance her physical strengths and managed to push back while Loki struck at his wrists, using an illusion to make him look like he was going to cut from two different directions.

Thinking that Corvus would have to choose to lose a hand if he guessed wrong, Loki was more than surprised to see the ashen alien let go of his weapon to jump kick through both of them.

Loki raised his hand to block but was sent flying into the wall. As he shook it off, he saw his mother clashing with Corvus while being pushed back.

He pulled himself off of the ground while his hand started to turn cold. Loki turned to see the frozen box and grinned.

MJ grunted as she gripped her side, "Why isn't it healing quicker!"

"The glaive he wields managed to cut the atoms itself. Due to the complexity of repairing them, it will take at least five minutes."

MJ webbed up her hip and said, "Great, a weapon that can slow my healing factor. Just what I need…Jane! Use full auto web shots and give us some cover fire."

"Understood!" Jane shouted out as she started lobbing web bullet after web bullet.

MJ rushed forward and started attacking with everything she had, almost completely relying on her senses to guide her while she hit Corvus with Chi enhanced elemental attacks.

She turned the stone into quicksand to mess with his footing, blasted him with fire and lightning, used water to deflect the blades and give her time to dodge, and mixed in wind to speed her up her attacks.

While Frigga, Jane, and Mary Jane kept the pressure on, Loki managed to charge up the Casket of Ancient Winters to shoot a blast of intense cold.

Corvus was stuck as it slammed into him and sent him flying into the distance in a chunk of ice.

"Ha! I did it!"

"Never say that!" MJ shouted as the ice started to crack.

Corvus broke through and grinned, "Excellent, I haven't had a fight this fun in years."

"Mother, we could use a little help! Call him!"

"I don't know if he has his sword on him, if he doesn't then I'll just end up trapping him on whatever planet he's on!"

Corvus rushed in, slamming his boot into MJ's stomach before stamping his pole arm into the ground. while jumping to follow up with a second kick that knocked Frigga back against another display that held the embers of creation on them.

While he yanked his glaive out of the ground and cut through the webbing being shot at him, Loki took the chance to shoot another beam of magical frost at Corvus. 

At the last second, he swung his glaive, splitting the beam in two as he ran towards the Trickster.

Before he could slash Loki in two, the web pellets exploded on Corvus' legs, slowing him to down and forcing him to cut through them with his weapon.

The blast started to freeze him again, but throwing another Black Hole Grenade allowed him to go after the Queen instead.

While Loki had to dodge, Corvus grinned as he readied his stab.

While Frigga was trying to recover from the previous blow, she felt what the Spider-Heroes called their Spider-Senses kick in and jumped to the ceiling before throwing her sword alongside several bolts of spells.

Corvus deflected and cleaved the sword in half before he jumped back, narrowly avoiding a powerful kick MJ unleashed that shattered the floor. She may have missed. However, she wasn't planning to hit him in the first place. Her next moved completely relied on getting the ashen alien in the air.

MJ's arms transformed into two massive cannons that fired beams of concentrated plasma, hitting Corvus dead in the chest. The force was so intense, it ended up sending him flying back dozens of feet before the Spider-Heroine shouted out some rapid fire spells.

Earth, fire, wind, and water all fused together to make a substance that glowed like golden fire and reached star-level temperatures. The beams pushed the villain up, broke through the walls, and sent him careening out of the vault.

While the smoke cleared, she nearly fell over, feeling completely drained of her Chi. Luckily, the others were there to catch her.

"Mary Jane!" Peter rushed over and checked over her wounds. He used the reality stone to heal her as he looked her over and asked, "You okay?'

"All better now,"

"Ahem," Loki pointed to the wound still dripping from his shoulder to his chest.

Peter rolled his eyes as Frigga walked over and started healing the wound with magic.

"You're pretty strong. Where are you from?" Corvus said as he jumped in through the hole he made.

His entire body was covered in rapidly healing burn marks and his face was one of pure excitement.

"Did you do this to my wife?" Peter growled as he held his hand out, twisting the weapon he was holding on to so quickly that it spun his wrist around several times before it snapped off.

For the first time since he arrived, Corvus felt fear. The Glaive was floating around Peter as the Hero's entire body glowed with an intensely dark black, red, and gold Chi.

Without his Glaive, his wounds would not heal, but he was no weaker than before. The child of Thanos rushed forward and attempted to take back his weapon by throwing the rest of his Black Hole Grenades. 

However, he discovered that with a single swipe of his hand, Peter turned his exo-armor against him, pinning him in place as he felt something strange.

"You…what are you…yip! Yip-Yip-Yip-Yip-?"

Peter stared down at the once immortal alien transformed into a small Chihuahua barking at them.

Loki shivered as he stared at the furious expression on Peter's face. When he snapped his head towards the trickster, Loki coughed into his hand and said, "Well, now that, that has been settled, I'll just…"

"Loki, if you don't want the same treatment, I suggest you walk back into your cell willingly."

"I helped save your woman, doesn't that earn me anything?"

"Yeah, but you still helped bring an army and killed quite a few people on my planet. So at the moment, you're still on my shitlist."

"I was under the influence from the Mind Stone,"

"Really? That's the best lie you have?" Peter raised his hand and threw the real Loki who was trying to sneak away while the one with his mother vanished. At the same time, he made sure that he returned MJ's Symbiote.

As the barrier came back on, Frigg looked at her son with a shocked expression, "Ah…you tricky…" 

"Admit it, you're impressed," Loki groaned as he picked himself from the ground, "You couldn't tell the difference. My spells are improving."

Peter looked around and said, "I'll fix the place up and transport the unconscious Dark Elves to my private prison. I'll hand them over after all 'this' is all over."

"What do we do with the dog?" MJ lifted a brow.

"I'll be taking him in my prison for now...as for this little war he's waged. I'm done with this whole event. It's time I send a message to that purple bastard."

Peter teleported all the bodies and materials away before taking flight. As he shot out of the building, he repaired the damage with the reality gemstone and flew straight towards Odin's location. 

MJ opened a portal and said, "I'm going after him. You guys hold down the fort."

"You could use portals?" Loki and Jane shouted at the same time.

"Yeeess?" MJ lifted a brow.

Loki huffed before asking, "Why didn't you volley his own grenades back at him?"

"Do you know what happens when a black hole interacts with a portal?"

"No…"

"Neither do I, so I couldn't risk opening a portal. Too many unknown factors, for instance, I could tear a hole in reality, or cause the black hole to suddenly start growing."

"I thought I raised you better," Frigga shook her head as she watched her son turn bright red. She then turned to Spider-Woman and said, "I'll join you."

"Right…come on, Jane. Let's go help everyone we can."

"Could you seal the door before you go out? I'd hate for the enemy to raid the place while I can do nothing about it," Loki groaned as he laid back on his bed.

MJ webbed up the entrance while Frigg walked over to a box containing something she hadn't worn in a long time.

Removing the runes from the lock, she opened it up and revealed a white and gold armor that had metal wings on the back.

"My wings…to me!" Frigg commanded as the suit enveloped her body and equipped itself without error.

There was a golden cuirass connected to a dress that had a piece of metal hanging from it that covered her pelvis and bottom, a winged helmet, two golden pauldrons, bracers, and thigh high metal boots.

The runes on the equipment glowed with a mighty power as the wings spread out and the Queen grabbed a scepter from the box.

"Come, my people need me," Frigg said as she stepped through the portal and joined the battle.

Portals opened up all over Asgard and Valkyries flooded the battlefield.

Peter had caught up to the ship to see a large hole ripped in the center of it. Without hesitating, the hero jumped through it and saw Odin standing over a defeated Proxima Midnight, the wife of Corvus.

Odin was holding her by the neck while staring at a screen that had Thanos' big purple face on it.

"Wow, if it isn't my least favorite big purple dinosaur. Please, spare me the song about love." Peter landed beside Odin and looked at the fallen spear while thinking, "Don't mind if I do!" as he dropped it into his bag of holding.

"Odin, tell me, who is your little pet insect?"

"He is of no concern to you. The stones you so longed to search for are gone. Send your Chitauri back before I send them back in coffins."

"Is that a threat?" Thanos grinned.

"It is mercy, something I've learned in my old age."

"You don't look that old to me…in fact, I think you're only maintaining that form by burning through the Odin Force as we speak. How much longer can you maintain it before you fall asleep? I have entire planets of soldiers to throw away, let's see how long you last."

"YOU DARE TO UNDERESTIMATE ME?!!!" Odin shouted as his power erupted, turning Proxima into ash as he threw her corpse into the vacuum of space. He then used ancient Rune Magic to summon every last ship in the area and even the ones floating far out in space.

Without being able to stop him, Thanos watched as Odin incinerated roughly 50% of his forces that he had wandering around the universe.

"Wow, he called your bluff and spit in your face. Remind me never to piss off Odin," Peter smirked as he stared at one of Marvel's most terrifying villains.

"Who are you to speak to one as great as me?" Thanos questioned with a dull expression.

"Someone who ruined your plans for using the infinity stones. Hi, I'm your worst nightmare, and the same guy that destroyed your precious Infinity Stones!"

Thanos looked at him with the same dull expression and said, "Doubtful."

"Oh, but it's true. You can destroy an Infinity Stone as long as you use the Infinity Stones to do it. However, they'd be reformed in time if you did that. You called my bluff, you bald headed purple Simp you. I'll reward you by telling you what I really did with them."

"Speak," Thanos sat back in his floating throne. 

"I shrank them down to a quantum level and sent them across the entire universe. I doubt anyone will ever find them again. Even if you do find it, you'll never be able to wield them!" Peter started laughing as he watched ships exploding like stars. Of course, he was lying, but no one said a good guy couldn't lie to a bad guy.

Odin was making quick work of Thanos' army when Peter heard the throne chair snap and break into pieces.

"I see…I hope you know that crossing me comes with great consequences."

"Well, it's a good thing you don't know who I am!" Peter smiled.

Thanos was about to open his mouth, but Peter held his hand up and interrupted him. "Please spare me the bad guy speech, I'm not scared of you. In fact, the only thing you'll accomplish by messing with me is ending up like your kids. You lost two of them in a single day, how many do you have left?"

"They are nothing but pawns," Thanos explained.

"And reward for universe's worst dad goes to the giant purple alien that can't take a hint!"

"Oh, and what are you hinting at,"

"You mess with me, and I won't kill you. No, I'll do something much worse. I'll grant you immortality, if you don't already have it, and then I'll lock you away a prison so secure, you never meet with your beloved Lady Death."

Thanos eyebrow twitched, "And how do you know of her?"

"I know that the whole balance motto you came up with is nothing more than a load of crap. I know that you think you're dumb enough to believe you're greater than Odin when you're on par with him at most. Oh, and I also know the guy Death is infatuated with, and I got some bad news for you bloated purple grape, it ain't you. 

"Please enlighten me," Thanos spoke with a clearly pissed off expression.

"No, I don't think I will. However, I will give you a warning, if you don't use this opportunity to change and become a better person, I'll hunt you down and carry out my threat."

The screen shut off as Peter jumped out of this ship and stored it in his bag of holding. He then went back to Asgard to help take care of the rest of the Dark Elves.

Peter landed next to MJ as she watched on in awe. Frigga's army had pretty much destroyed the entire army of Dark Elves. They were literally doing crowd control and locking all the surviving combatants in heavy looking cuffs.

"Wow, look at them go," MJ smirked as she put her hands on her hips.

Peter recalled his Symbiotes, all except the one Odin was wearing. He figured he'd let the old man play around a bit longer. After all, the powers he had access to actually allowed him to avoid using the Odin force, and with his Godly Wisdom, he was able to use them to a level Peter didn't know they were capable of. There was a lot for the Spider-Hero to learn.

Magneto's' power combined with Johnny's power allowed him to create stars that exploded in contained Super Nova that he then directed with a chain lightning that came from Electro's power.

He used his magic to summon hordes of enemies to him instead of chasing them down. There was no escape from this force of nature, this god of battle and wisdom.

Odin then opened a portal that showed the image of every Chitauri planet owned by Thanos. The God King then held his hands out and sent a chill so powerful that it froze trillions of soldiers in mere seconds. When the planets were cold and fragile, he tossed Gungnir.

The godly spear split into 12 different spears that shot through the planets and shattered them like glass before the gravity caused the planet to collapse in on themselves. The massive planets suddenly burst into powerful explosions that disappeared behind a fading portal. 

Odin took back his spear as he rode his eight-legged god horse back to his land and dismounted next to Thor and Heimdal, "Report!"

"We have stabilized and locked the space around Asgard. We won't be able to use Warp technology for a while, but they won't be able to send more in. The Queen has captured Algrim," Heimdal informed.

"The enemy forces have been dealt with, our prison might be a little crowded, but somehow, I think Niflheim should be able to hold them all," Thor informed. 

"Is the Bifrost is still operable?" Odin asked.

"Thor did well in protecting it," Heimdal nodded his head.

"Good, open the gates to Niflheim and toss them all in," Odin walked off to go find his wife.
