Snake Eyes and Black Widow

This is a story of Snake Eyes (GI-Joe) being a operative in the fantastic world of the MCU. Of course, as this is introducing a character from an entirely different universe this story will be an AU. Without further ado, please take a dive through the eyes of Snake. Disclaimer all rights and permissions stay with the original writers and creators. This fan-fic is just to take a spin on what it would be like to have one of my favorite characters in the MCU.

Chapter 34: The Fallout Begins

The early morning sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as Natasha stepped off the S.H.I.E.L.D. transport and into the cool air of the base. The mission to dismantle the Overseer's network was officially over, but Natasha knew this was far from the end. The world was still reeling from the threat they had just neutralized, and the ramifications of the Overseer's technology would echo long after the dust settled.

Her body ached from the recent battle, but Natasha had learned to push through fatigue long ago. There were always loose ends to tie up, and in this case, those loose ends could still be dangerous. As she made her way across the base, the buzzing of activity around her felt oddly distant. Agents were busy analyzing data from the destroyed facilities, cataloging the weapons and technology they had recovered, and ensuring that nothing valuable ended up in the wrong hands.

Natasha's mind was already turning over what would come next. They had stopped the immediate threat, but the Overseer's vision—the idea that enhanced soldiers could reshape the world—was not going to die easily. Others would try to replicate his work. Governments and private corporations would seek to get their hands on the technology they had fought so hard to destroy.

As she approached the command center, she caught sight of Nick Fury inside, standing before a large screen that displayed a map of the world with various red markers scattered across it. Each marker represented a location that had once been part of the Overseer's network. Now, they were just remnants of a failed dream.

"Romanoff," Fury said as she stepped inside, his one eye locking onto her with that familiar, unreadable intensity. "I hear you wrapped things up nicely."

"For now," Natasha replied, her voice calm but wary. "But we both know this isn't the end. Someone else will pick up where the Overseer left off."

Fury nodded slowly, his gaze shifting to the screen behind him. "I've been getting reports from intelligence agencies all over the world. They're already scrambling to figure out what happened, and some of them are getting too close to the truth for my liking. The tech we uncovered in those hubs is going to make waves."

Natasha crossed her arms, her brow furrowed. "What's the plan? We can't keep this under wraps forever. People are going to start asking questions."

Fury's expression darkened. "I know. That's why we need to get ahead of it. We're running containment right now—keeping the most dangerous pieces of the technology out of circulation—but we're going to have to be strategic about what we release to the public. The last thing we need is panic, or worse, people trying to replicate what the Overseer started."

Natasha considered his words for a moment. Fury was right. If the wrong people got their hands on the Overseer's work, they could create an even bigger threat. It wouldn't be long before governments, corporations, and private entities started trying to recreate the enhanced soldiers, thinking they could control them.

"We can handle the fallout," Natasha said after a moment. "But we need to make sure this never happens again. The enhanced soldier technology—it's too dangerous to let anyone get close to it."

Fury gave her a sharp look. "That's the idea. But it's not going to be easy. There are a lot of people out there who will stop at nothing to get their hands on this tech. We'll have to keep our guard up."

Natasha nodded. She knew the fight was far from over. The Overseer may have been taken down, but the battle for control over the future of power had only just begun. The world was changing, and Natasha could feel the weight of that change pressing down on her.

Just as Fury was about to speak again, the door to the command center slid open, and Agent Hill stepped inside, holding a tablet with a grave expression.

"Sir, we have a situation," Hill said, her voice tight with urgency.

Fury raised an eyebrow. "What kind of situation?"

Hill handed the tablet to Fury, her expression grim. "We've been monitoring activity in some of the regions where the Overseer had operations. It looks like there's a new player on the board."

Natasha leaned in, glancing at the tablet over Fury's shoulder. The data on the screen showed a series of mysterious transactions and communications between various shadowy organizations. The information was vague, but it was clear that something was brewing.

"Who are we dealing with?" Natasha asked, her mind already racing with the possibilities.

"We're not sure yet," Hill replied. "But whoever it is, they've been quietly buying up the remnants of the Overseer's network. They've taken over abandoned labs, secured assets, and they've been making deals with black-market arms dealers."

Fury's expression grew darker as he studied the information. "So much for stopping this thing dead in its tracks. Looks like someone's already moving to take the Overseer's place."

Natasha felt a surge of frustration. It was like a game of whack-a-mole—take down one threat, and another one popped up, even more dangerous than the last. But this wasn't just about cleaning up the mess left by the Overseer. This was about preventing the rise of something even worse.

"Do we have a lead on who's behind it?" Natasha asked.

Hill shook her head. "Not yet. They're being careful, covering their tracks. But if we follow the money, we might be able to figure out who's pulling the strings."

Natasha exchanged a glance with Fury, who nodded in agreement. "We need to get on this. If there's another player out there trying to resurrect the Overseer's work, we can't afford to let them gain any ground."

Fury turned to Natasha, his expression hard. "You're going to be point on this. We'll dig into the intel, find out who's behind it, and shut them down before they can get too far."

Natasha didn't hesitate. She had known from the moment the mission ended that this wouldn't be the last threat they'd face. If someone was trying to pick up where the Overseer left off, they had to be stopped—no matter the cost.

"I'll get started," Natasha said, her voice firm with determination.

Fury gave her a curt nod. "Good. Keep me updated."

As Natasha turned to leave, Hill called out to her, her voice softer this time. "Romanoff—be careful. Whoever this is, they're playing a long game."

Natasha nodded, the weight of the warning clear. "I always am."

Back in her quarters, Natasha sat down at a small desk, the dim light casting shadows across the room. She leaned back in her chair for a moment, staring at the ceiling. The mission had been a success, but the lingering sense of unfinished business gnawed at her.

The world was always changing, always shifting, and the fight to protect it never seemed to end. But Natasha was used to it. This was her life—one battle after another, with only brief moments of peace in between.

As she pulled up the latest reports on her tablet, preparing to dive into the investigation, her thoughts drifted for a moment. She had come a long way since her days in the Red Room, since becoming an Avenger. She had faced countless enemies, both known and unknown, but this—this felt different. There was a new kind of threat emerging, one that was harder to pin down, more elusive.

But she wasn't going to let that stop her.

The Overseer's network may have been dismantled, but the world would always have its shadows. And Natasha Romanoff would always be there to fight in them.
