Ch.57 An Assassin

The four of them arrived at the room at the end of the hall way.

From the looks of it, it was Sadou's office as the front of the door has the words that says ' Department Head '.

Inside, Sadou sat in his chair with a table as the three of them stood opposite of him.

"First of all, you all call me commander when on duty, all Department heads have to be called as such.

And here, this is the department uniform, well, more like a cloak and then here's the department badge."

Saying so. Commander Sadou took out three black cloaks just like what he was wearing albeit, his cloak has golden patterns on the edges whilst theirs were only black.

The badge was a metal one with nothing in it.

There were no indication or logo in their department.

"Our badge, has no logo, all the department members are given badges with their logos in it, but only our department has nothing, in truth though, this meant that we can actually go into areas where other normal members pf other departments are not allowed.

But we can only do so when we are given a mission."

The three of them nodded.

"As for the cloak, this is made from a special material, from the magic beast black buffalo.

It is also enchanted with other materials, which makes it waterproof, able to regulate temperature and even aid in stealth!"

Eiji was shocked when he heard this. This meant that this cloak was a treasure ! And the department are just giving them away to new members like them?

The other two didn't look like they were shocked though, it seemed like they already knew about it.

Sadou smiled at Eiji.

"Hmm! Out of all the departments, only our department gives out this type of treasures, the other just gives them their badge and maybe a weapon or two nothing more.

But this also means that our department are given more importance as well as huge responsibilities!"

Eiji nodded his head, and even though the other two knew of it already they also nodded.

Then Sadou looked at them once again and turned serious.

"Now! Our department is a hidden one! All our missions are classified and no one should ever know about them other than yourself and your squad!

This means that all of you had to have the mental capacity to kill any witnesses and not leave any evidence behind!"

The three of them felt the seriousness of Sadou's words and they nodded their heads.

"Our work is all about killing!

We have to kill regardless of who! As long as it is our mission, and our main task is always to kill our targets!

There might be times where we underestimate the power of our enemies or have a sudden circumstances that's why we cooperate with the IAI Department!

Even though we are taught about the code of combat, taught to protect the honor and swordsmanship of our kingdom, but as assassins, what we have to do is protect the kingdom in the shadows!

We kill traitors!

We kill those that are sent to infiltrate in our kingdom.

We kill those that even try to harm the Kingdom's interests!

And even kill those that have seen us in our work!"

Yami Marco and Inu Ichiro nodded with determination in their eyes.

Meanwhile Eiji was taken aback by commander Sadou's words.

His words meant that in the event that they killed their target but was witnessed by the innocent, regardless of whether they are man, woman, old, and young, this meant they have to kill them?

Eiji's body slowly shook.

He suddenly remembered his parents.

Their gruesome deaths.

His mother smiling at him in her deathbed.

Sadou saw Eiji's state. Before recruiting them, each department heads were given the files of the people they want to recruit.

This meant that he knew Eiji's past.

Sadou stood up.

"Eiji, of the three of you, you are the only one who's from a civilian family, this two are, unfortunately or fortunately are from the Hanzo and Yami clans.

This two clans specialized in Assassinations, and most of their clansmen excell in this department.

Very few are from the other clans and even from the civilians.

You, to be honest has what it takes to reap lives in a single moment!

Your talent lies in your efficient way of using your speed and techniques.

But I also understand if you do not want to be in this type of work.

I will respect your wishes if you want to back out and join another department.

Normally we would erase this part of your memory but with Muri being your master there would be no need.

So Eiji, I want to ask you, would you like to join us?!

Protect the kingdom in the shadows.

Not being given recognition in the public.

No one knowing our deeds, yet still works behind the shadows and irregardless of fame still strive to protect this- our precious kingdom and home!"

Sadou, as well as Yami Marco and Hanzo Akai looked at Eiji.

Eiji looked down at the ground pursing his lips.
