Seishin: I Was Brought into A World of Magic, and Seven Great Spirits

I was always bored of the world. I always wanted something to make life fun. Work, stress, school, and always worrying about how you’ll evade your bully the next day, tomorrow. I was always tired of it, life’s unfair. It’s not like those fantasy novels and games you always play, so I thought. But I was wrong, far from wrong. Never in my life would I hear myself say “I’m glad to be wrong” but now I truly am. I was brought into a new world of Magic, new races, an entire different system of concepts that you would never see in the modern day of 20th century. I’m glad that I can be here now, living in this new world, leaving my previous world where everyone hated me and despised me from how lazy I am, and from what I liked. Life was unfair, until I discovered this new world. Now I can say that my journey from here on out will be a hazardous sight for you all to witness, but if you stick along with me, you’ll see that in the end, it all was worth it, and life has much more to it then you would ever know. This is my Journey into a A World of Magic, and the Seven Great Spirits.

This World is Bigger Than I Imagined

Me and Leorio walked down a roadway not too far away from the village of ghosts we had dealt with a couple of hours ago. It's been quite a few since he talked.

I noticed him always looking around us for danger, but frankly I couldn't even sense any of that around us, was it because I missed magic detection?

"Hey, Leorio... what is magic detection anyways?"

I looked up at Leorio as he closed his eyes, processing his thoughts.

<Hmmm… Magic Detection? Well it's self-explanatory. With Magic Detection you can detect magic all around you, even if you're blind, deaf, and have no natural 5 senses that the human body needs, in order to feel certain things. Everything runs on magic, it's why having Magic Detection is an important skill.>

As I predicted, it was pretty obvious… but there he goes again, mentioning skill? When he threw me into the air and I was forced to fall down, he had said something about having skill to the ghosts, I didn't exactly understand what that was.

…Did it work like a video game?

"Okay then, what about Skill? What is that suppose to be?"

As we walked through this roadway, we eventually exited out from the dim-lit forest and into a beautiful sight, with mountains in the background, large hills, kingdoms in the far off distance, and even the sight of villages.

We stood on top of a large hill to see all of this, my eyes lit up with stars… this was beautiful! I almost forgot what I even asked.

<Kuhahaha! Beautiful isn't it? Far away is Bomboria Capital, we are nearly there.>

He placed his hand upon my head and walked down the semi-steep hill in front of us.

<And to answer your question, you must first learn about magic before you learn about what skills are in Seishin.>

I followed behind him and squinted my eyes shut.

"Why do I feel like this is gonna take forever to learn…? Man…"

Leorio glanced from behind.

<Ahahahaha! Because it is! Others that I brought into this world didn't learn magic until their third year here. They only had to train with a wooden sword, sounds boring doesn't it? Now imagine how hard it is to become a mage, like you wanted.>

He had given a smug "Know it all" type of look.

"Tsk… Well… mages can do cool stuff also, but I decided a knight in this world is cooler after the recent events in Ghost Village! Don't tease me!"

The Knight would turn back around, the only sound I heard was the jangling of his heavy armor he wore.

<Alright, you want to know about what Skills are, so first you need to understand the basics of Magic.>

Leorio would suddenly stop and step to the side of the roadway. As of now we finally gotten off the semi-steep hill and was now on flat surface, but the reason why he stepped to the side confused me…?

"Hey, what's up?

I blinked in confusion.

<Oh, right, you can't sense mana? Get out of the way!>

He reached his hand forward to tug on my shirt, pulling me back.

"Hey!!!"

Soon as he yanked me backwards, I fell onto my butt, and into the grass, falling off the gravel roadway.

<It's a Ghost Carriage.>

….Wait what?

"A g-ghost carriage?"

I rubbed the back of my butt in pain, falling into a bundle of rocks. That stuff hurts… my body was so fragile.

<Indeed young Takumi! A ghost carriage is like any other ghosts… except in a carriage… simple right?>

I looked at him before staring back into the gravel roadway.

"Uhhh… I guess so? Wait, does that mean we are still inside of Ghost Territory?"

This started to make a lot more sense now.

<Correct! All around us are ghosts, and they're friendly! Kuhahaha! You just cannot see them!>

I stood up and hid right behind Leorio from sheer fear.

Those ghosts… last time they seen me, they wanted me… I just couldn't stay out into the open like that without safety!

<Are you afraid? HAHAHA! I guess it cannot be helped. Worry not, the sun is nearly over the mountains.>

I really tried to see the ghosts by squinting my eyes, however I couldn't! Having no magic just sucked ass.

"Damnit-"

The Knight would gently pull onto my arm from behind his back and bring me to his side, finally starting to walk back on the gravel roadway.

<Once the sun shows itself, all ghosts are less hostile and have no killing intent. Always remember this, once it's night and you're in ghost territory, bring salt with you. Having salt inside of your armor or even inside of your travel kit will keep all ghosts away, like me.>

I noticed the suns beautiful color coming up from the horizon on far-north to us, since we were walking east.

"Well if there's anything I learned from movies back home, the salt trick always comes in handy…"

I felt proud of myself for at least knowing something by watching countless horror movies in my lifetime. However my Christian parents weren't fond of it.

<Now back to the topic of magic. Inside of Seishin, it's where magic originates from. Our world is that important. Remember what I told you, about us being in the center of the multiverse? Our world, Seishin, powers up other universes, as most other universes uses magic as well.>

He looked at the side next to us with a smile upon his dark-toned face.

<The Seven Great Spirits live inside of this world as well, on different planets outside of our Earth. That is why this world is so important and has the most value, because of the Seven Great spirits being the sole creators of the multiverse, and being the ones who created magic.>

I started to understand more and more this went on, and to be frank… there's one thing I'm confused on…

"Then why was my world so boring and bland? We had no magic and only relied on nuclear weapons and guns! That wasn't fun at all!"

Leorio lifted his head up to purposely let his laugh be heard among the open plains.

<Kuhahaha! It's simply because you're unlucky! There's some worlds out there that doesn't even use magic, and some that does! Those that I usually bring inside this world from Queen Bomboria, and King Alexander's orders, are ones who know of magic. So it's easy for them to learn it and adapt here much faster.>

I didn't even notice how far we were walking, but eventually we ended up in a small local area with a Inn right next to us… but—

"Wait…? Ghost Inn? H-Huh?"

…That's right… Ghost Inn…

A place where ghosts go inside and drink, eat, and sleep. Seriously, ghosts out of all creatures?

<Fumu. I'm starving for Ghost Steak, what about you Takumi?>

I blinked in confusion, unable to comprehend what the hell was happening. I mean… I didn't even see the ghosts, I had no magic detection. But food is food.

"I guess I'm a little hungry too."

Did this place just randomly spawn from thin air or something? Once we exited the forest and looked out far in the distance, I didn't even see this place, but now it was randomly here.

<If you're confused to how this Ghost Inn shown up, it's simple. During the daytime all ghosts are peaceful entities, and the ones who were bartenders or business men once they were alive, comes out and serves other ghosts, even alive creatures such as us.>

He walked up the small flight of stairs and pushed open two small doors in front of him, walking in.

Leorio greeted others to which I couldn't see, now following straight behind him.

"So ghosts were once humans like us?"

Leorio sat down at a quiet and empty table as I did the same, sitting across the table from him.

<Precisely. When someone dies and they have something to cling onto, whether it's riches, fame, a lover, child, anything of the sorts. They have an choice to stay or move onto the After Life, that's what has happened here to all of these ghosts inside of the Inn.>

I could see floating cups all around me, and moving bottle glasses, but not the ghosts who carried them.

Suddenly walking up to us was a waitress I assumed, as large menu papers for two people were floating off to the side of me.

"O-Oh… thank you…"

I awkwardly grabbed the menu paper and looked down to see what they were having.

Everything looked the same like it was in my world… but… it just had the word "Ghost" put in front of it.

Ghost porn, ghost pizza, ghost soda, ghost, ghost, ghost!

"I guess I'll have a ghost steak…?"

Leorio had leaned his head back.

<Kuhahaha! Wise choice Young Takumi! I will also have a ghost steak, and bring us two glasses of water!>

Well I guess I could rely on an expert in front of me, rather doing it myself for right now.

"I think I get it now. So this Inn comes out from thin air on certain times of the day?"

I was genuinely curious as I asked Leorio.

<Indeed. Ghosts all have Ectoplasm which is their version of magic, but only for ghosts. It allows them to naturally make their attacks invisible, despite them already being invisible, and allows for them to hide objects, to even people. But that's not the scary thing about them, the only scary thing about Ghosts is their ability to possess you.>

Leorio would lean his body over the table, in front of me.

"I'll show you some pretty cool things once we're finishing eating, there's lots you must know!"

He whispered it to me like some happy child who got a friend.

And to be honest… it kinda made me happy.
