"The presence of you all threatens the entire Amegakure, so I apologize if I have to eliminate you."
A middle-aged man wearing a mask while carrying a kusarigama spoke to a girl with blue hair.
While the girl continued to plead to spare her two closest companions and promised to leave Amegakure, she even offered to die as long as the masked man would release her comrade.
But no matter how hard she begged, Hanzo, the masked man, remained indifferent and ordered his subordinates to exterminate all Akatsuki members.
Amegakure shinobi carried out a massacre against the Akatsuki group still led by Yahiko, and the battle reached its climax when they managed to defeat Yahiko.
But one thing they didn't know was that it drove Nagato insane; he activated the Rinnegan and summoned the Gedo Statue to destroy all of Amegakure's forces and the Root members in disguise.
Nagato, who had gone mad and lost his sanity, attacked anything in front of him without caring about his continuously draining chakra.
Hanzo, the Salamander, who initially thought he could destroy the Akatsuki, now had to swallow a bitter pill; his elite forces were easily slaughtered, even his summoning animal was killed by Nagato.
At the end of his life, Hanzo felt betrayed by Danzo, who promised to join in this attack, but in fact, Danzo only sent Root members who could be disposed of at any time.
With all his strength, Hanzo tried to inform Konan about who the real enemy she should fight against was.
Hanzo didn't tell Nagato because of Obito's miscalculation; if only Yahiko had died, Nagato might not have gone so insane.
But what happened was, all Akatsuki members except him and Konan had died; Nagato went berserk and chose to bury all enemies along with his comrades, hoping Konan could survive and escape to start a new peaceful life.
Nagato, who also heard Hanzo's words, used all his last chakra to send the Gedo Statue to the Root forces' camp led by Danzo.

Realizing his opportunity had come, Sora appeared and approached Konan and the dying Nagato.
"Hey, kids! What are you doing here?"
Konan and Nagato, hearing Sora's voice, immediately looked in his direction, and without hesitation, Konan ran towards Sora and pleaded.
"Sir, please save my comrade, I beg you, please, he's dying!"
Konan begged, tears streaming down her face.
Initially, Sora had no intention of saving Nagato, but after seeing the sadness and desperation on Konan's face, Sora approached Nagato.
But unfortunately, Nagato refused to be healed; instead, he asked Sora to take Konan far away from Amegakure and let her live in peace.
Seeing Nagato's determination to follow his comrades as an atonement, Sora finally relented and sat with Konan, accompanying Nagato in his final moments.
Shortly after, Nagato breathed his last with a smile because even though he had to die, at least he could report to his comrades, especially Yahiko, that he had managed to protect Konan.
Sora then buried Nagato's body, Yahiko's, and the other Akatsuki members'; even the shinobi from Amegakure, Hanzo the Salamander, and the Root members were not forgotten.
"Let's go, Konan!"
"Um!"
Konan nodded but didn't speak at all, and Sora understood her reason a bit, although he couldn't sympathize.
Sora then took Konan away to Laputa by creating a portal that would disappear shortly after they both entered, and under Sora's guidance, they both vanished from Amegakure and wouldn't appear again in the shinobi world for some time.

After Sora and Konan left, something resembling a Venus flytrap with a giant size emerged from the ground.
When the plant opened, there was a strange creature with half of its face black and the other half white inside it, the creature was a type of weapon created by Kaguya known as Zetsu.
"Hey, it seems Obito miscalculated, well, he is indeed stupid so it's no wonder he can only eat, sleep, and poop."
"Well, there is indeed a slight miscalculation, no one would have expected Hanzo to leak information about Danzo that made Nagato even more desperate, it seems the plan to free the mother needs to be revised a bit."
The Black Zetsu then began digging Nagato's grave to retrieve Madara's Rinnegan, but there was one thing the Black Zetsu never expected.
He saw a simple carving on a tree trunk, but the inscription contained very big news.
So big that he stopped moving and couldn't say a word.
"Hey, why stop? Do you want to poop? If so, please tell me how it feels later, okay?"
The Black Zetsu, awakened by the stupid statement made by the White Zetsu, then continued what they had just done; he took the Rinnegan from Nagato's body and then buried Nagato's corpse again.
"Wow, it's rare for you to do such a complicated thing as burying a corpse... hey, are you hiding something? Quickly tell me... or maybe you want to poop? That's why you're acting weird like this."
Finding the White Zetsu continuing to talk about stupid things, the Black Zetsu became slightly annoyed, but because the intelligence of the White Zetsu was indeed limited, he chose to ignore it.

In the sky, at the flying castle Laputa, Konan, who had arrived, was very surprised and silent at the sight she saw, an island and a castle floating in the air.
"Um, sir, where is this? Is this heaven? Then are Yahiko, Nagato, and the others also here?"
Sora gently rubbed Konan's head and said,
"No, this is my home, Laputa, the castle in the sky, and from today, it will also be your home. Oh, yes, I will introduce you to my wives later."
When she heard that where they were now wasn't heaven, Konan became a little downcast, but wanting to follow Nagato's last message to stay alive, Konan chose to be patient and stay here.
Moreover, with Pakura and Kaguya's presence, Konan wouldn't feel lonely.
Sora then introduced Konan to Pakura and Kaguya before leaving them to calm Konan, who might still be shocked by the loss of her family members.
In the throne room, Sora observed the development of the five villages while continuing to search for the whereabouts of Karin's mother, and when he received a signal, Sora smiled.
"It seems Zetsu chose to believe, with that, there are no dangerous obstacles anymore except for the Otsutsuki who don't know when they will come."
