Chapter 34
As soon as they both get off work on Friday, Quinn packs up the car and drives them to his mother’s seaside cabin.
Once there, Quinn unloads the hidden cooler he had stashed in the trunk and stows its contents in the fridge. Then he shoos Skylar away, telling him to occupy himself in their room and to not come out until Quinn calls him.
Skylar shoots him a skeptical look before Quinn closes the door in his face.
Then he gets to work.
It had taken many lunch breaks and a few secret meetings outside the office, but Rayne had taught Quinn how to cook. Okay, not cook, just to cook specific dishes. The easiest dishes she knew.
