Chapter 21 - Top Speed

"Hey, nerd! You guys go ahead without me, I'm going to this villain attack attraction I heard about."

"Whatever, just make sure you don't get lost. I don't want to hear about a missing explosive kid."

"Go fuck yourself! I'm outta here, later nerd!"

Bakugou went off somewhere leaving the rest of his friends behind. Izuku only chuckled while Melissa was a bit confused.

"Why do you keep fighting...aren't you two friends?"

"We are! That's just the way we speak to each other."

"Get used to it, Melissa-san. The two will always bicker as they are childhood rivals. Anyway, why don't you continue our tour?" (Itsuka)

"Sure! How about we visit the exhibit."

Melissa excitedly said they were guided through a wide display of countless technology and machinery made by the genius within the I-Island. 

The two tech geniuses got along with their fascination in tech. They share the same passion after being diagnosed being quirkless with Melissa giving up on being a hero while Izuku kept moving forward.

This made her wonder if it was too late in becoming a hero. She started to reign it as her childhood dream when Izuku and her uncle said that a hero is not about power but the heart. If it was then villains can be a hero. 

"And this is the latest liquid-based Nanomachine that is currently in development."

"Interesting. I've only made a simple Nanomachine to make my hero suit. Damn, I want to analyze it so badly but it wouldn't be appropriate."

Izuku didn't want to take advantage and just take other people's tech to his own unless he had permission or it was released to the public.  

However, this gave him new ideas for the next project that he would make in his lab. He already got enough materials made from Adamantium and Vibranium to make his suit along with his friends. 

"Adamantium? Vibranium? Isn't that the fictional material from those old comics?"

"Yeah, I've done some research and it took me roughly a month to find the formula using my high speed thought, thanks to my Speed force. Also Momo helped in their creation."

"Really!? If you don't mind, can you make one? Just a small one."

"Sure, I don't mind." 

Momo already memorized it since the material is extremely useful in combat. Vibranium is especially beneficial when it comes to building her body as it steals kinetic energy.  

She handed a small piece of metal to Melissa who excitedly examined the object. It felt different than any metal that she's ever seen or felt. The ore was the size of marble yet the weight is the same despite being metal.

"Amazing! It's really lighter than normal metal. Does it absorb kinetic energy like in this comic?"

"Yeah! Though it's still less durable than the actual metal since this is just a replica."

"Is that so? Here."

"No, you can have it. Maybe have run some tests on it."(Momo)

"Really? Thanks, Yaoyorozou"

"Please just call me Momo."

"Alright, Momo."

They continued their exploration until Izuku grew hungry and headed to grab some lunch. Melissa was surprised to see a mountain of food on the table.

"Sorry about this, my quirk has a drawback that requires me to eat 10,000 or more calories."

Izuku explained, he started to eat his meal rather quickly using his super speed until the last drop finished all of it in less than a minute.

"Wow! So fast! How fast can you go using your super speed?"

"My max? If I go beyond my limits then it will be at most slightly faster than lightning. To be more precise, 300,000 mph excluding using my Hero suit."

"What if you include it?"

"1,000,000 mph."

"That's enough to run a lap around the world several times!?"

Izuku lightly chuckled at her shock. As they were getting along the other girls grew increasingly jealous but understood she would soon talk for him. 

"I've been wondering, what was that about the Deku thing?"

"Yeah, Izu-San, you've been keeping secrets from us?" (Itsuka)

"Spill it, Midoriya-san. You've already been caught." (Jiro)

"Agree, now tell us about being a researcher of I-Island without being in the island?"(Momo)

"It's kind of a long story so sit back and relax. It started when I was around 12 and recently finished Gideon when I published an article about the quirks and ideas in machines that could dampen quirk to be used on villains."

He had used Eraserhead, the underground hero whose ability is to erase someone's quirk. The limitation of his is unknown as he had little involvement in the media.

However, Izuku manages to have clear theories and ideas for a device that could nullify their quirk. Though it would only work if it was worn constantly by the person like a handcuff. 

As they were enjoying their conversation, a loud explosion could be heard in the distance that made Izuku smile.

The trio arrived in a stadium with mountains and large rocks. There is a river and waterfalls as well.  At the time there was a giant screen with a timer. 

And there, standing on a platform, is none other than Katsuki Bakugou grinning at the cheers he was receiving. His eyes then met Izuku who had a smirk that made him grin even more.

'Bastard, let me show you what I'm made of!'

As for why he only arrived at the Villain Attack Attraction, it was because on the way here, he spotted an arena where a tournament was happening. Bakugou removed his shoe then folded his pants.

[Ready!] 

The female announced yelled as He prepared himself looking at each individual robot that was about to launch an attack.

[Start!]

Bakugo wasted no time and blasted himself. However, this time it was the sole of his feet that produced the explosion launching him into the air at a high velocity.

This is the result of his training finding ways to see if his body had the same sweat glances in his feet. The reason why he hadn't done it was his quirk is at it's developing stage and had gotten used to his palm.

Without as much as a pause, he moved towards the next one and destroyed it too. Then he moved towards the robot on the river and destroyed it as well. Then another, and another, and another, until he destroyed every robot he could find!

And instead of using his palm used an individual finger to have more precise shit than just making a massive explosion. He doesn't have the same arrogant and destructiveness from another timeline.

[OH MY GOD! 7 SECONDS! FIRST PLACE! IS THERE ANYONE WHO COULD BEAT HIS RECORD!]

Katsuki smirked at the announcement. He then turned towards Izuku and pointed his finger at him, gaining the attention of the crowds.

[WHAT'S THIS!? IS OUR FIRST PLACER CHALLENGING THAT WHITE HAIRED YOUNG MAN!? DO THEY HAVE SOME KIND OF RIVALRY GOING ON!?]

Bakugo used his explosions to jump towards them as he stared at Izuku with a smirk.

"Come on, Nerd, beat my record."

"Hoh~?"

Izuku smirked and let go of Itsuka's hands, before turning his head toward them.

"Wait here, I need to flex some muscle."

"Alright, make sure to go beyond!"(Itsuka)

"I know you'll get first without any hassle."(Jiro)

"Try not to get hurt."(Momo)

"I'm curious to see his quirk in action."

"Watch me." 

Izuku turns to Bakugou, having a cocky grin. With that, he jumped towards the platform leaving Bakugou with the rest of his friends. 

[AND WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGER! DOES HE HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SURPASS THIS RECORD!?]

Izuku, who was standing on the platform, looked up to see them smiling while his friend waited in anticipation. 

[READY!?]

Izuku took a stance rousing himself with the white and gold lightning as everything started to slow in crawl and his eyes flickering in white electricity. 

With that the sound of a sonic boom could be heard as it blew a gust of wind seeing a white streak pass through.

[START!]

Izuku rocketed forward into the first few bots before the first second was even over. He ran up the cliffs and hills, destroying every bot in sight. Then, he finished the last bot by punching the air, creating a strong air pressure that destroyed it.

[HOLY SMOKES!? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!? THIS IS INSANE! IT TOOK HIM LESS THAN A SECONDS TO FINISH THEM ALL OFF!]

With a satisfied smile, Izuku jumped back to his friends and was immediately greeted by Bakugo's annoyed glare.

"Yeah yeah, you've won this time!"
