Ch 3 - But I don't wanna leave

[Where are you guys?]

[In front of the store]

[I'm with Silas already]

"Mia!"

"Yooo"

Mia smiles as she greets her friends.

"I didn't expect Victor to look like that." Silas whispers to her as they make their way to the food court. "He's so… small."

Mia bursts into laughter at that, making Victor look back and stare at them weird.

"The both of you look like siblings." So he says.

Mia can't help but glance a few times an Silas, thinking to herself, maybe we do.

Though she doubts Silas agrees.

"You also didn't tell me he was an e-boy." Silas pouts, making Mia laugh even more.

"He looks more like a hentai protagonist than e-boy," She muses, "With his hair covering his eyes like that…"

Silas makes a noise of agreement.

"Stop talking nonsense behind me and order some food already." Victor turns back a second time, an exasperated look on his face as he babies the two children he decided to go out with today.

Mia sticks out her tongue, taking her wallet and phone with her as she strolls around the food court.

She's feeling lighter than she was before. The throbbing pain in her hand told her that the previous incident did happen, but that didn't matter much. It was just a little mishap no one needed to know about.

She'll figure it out herself. Her friends didn't need to know.

Going out with them was fun. She wanted to stay with them forever. But she knew forever never lasted.

So she'll take anything she can get.

She hums a little tune she made up herself, strolling over to the japanese store in the corner to order her food.

What to get… what to get…

As she was deliberating over all the choices she had been given, Silas had walked over next to her.

She doesn't remember what he said, only that they both started chatting and her heart was so light and the fog confusing her mind had dissipated and all she could think of was… Please don't ever leave.

She remembers all her past friendships. They didn't necessarily have a falling out, but somehow they just got further and further away from each other till they were nothing but strangers.

She won't chase after them. She doesn't know how to. She won't tell anyone. There's no one to tell. But that makes her heart ache so terribly much.

She's the problem, sure. But it's like no one ever tries. They come and they go. Just like all things. Mia wishes this friendship wouldn't end up like her last. She hopes that maybe she'll get the happiness she doesn't deserve just this once.

"Mia," Victor calls, smiles. "Come on."

And with that, it was as if the world pressed onto her shoulder disappeared.
