Final Chapter: Beyond the Border of Life

Aile and Pandora took haste returning to the Guardians HQ. They were feeling nervous and probably that was the last opportunity to be next each other. Pandora's hand was even trembling when they were next to Fleuve's laboratory.

Pandora: "If I don't make it... don't be sad about me, I'll depart happy knowing that you made my last hours happy."

Aile: "Trust the doc, he won't fail my sweet rainbow-eater."

Pandora: "You called me that because of the rainbow candy, right?"

Aile: "Yeah. Now go, I'll be here waiting for you."

The two girls kiss each other on the lips before getting separated by the metallic laboratory door. Prairie comes from behind.

Alouette: "Don't worry, Aile. The best we can do is to wait now. Hehehe, this is the first time in much time that I see you scared."

Aile: "Is that evident? I mean... my body is a bit shaky, because I did end loving her. Hell, she's my girlfriend of course I'm worried!"

Prairie hugs her Guardian, trying to comfort her.

Alouette: "We can only trust Dr. Fleuve. On the data some passwords associated to DAN-001 and DAN-002. I bet that it is the codename of Prometheus and Pandora respectively."

Aile nods and sits down on the corridor, holding the hug with the blonde reploid, who is like a little sister to her.

Aile: "Thank you, Alouette."

Alouette: "I just want you to be happy under my command and save another victim. Even if we had our differences in the past."

Some hours after, an explosion was heard when Dawn was breaking, Aile was drinking a coffee when the old doctor left from the laboratory with a sad face. She went running quickly to see what did happen.

Dr. Fleuve: "I-I did everything I could but... I don't know how to say this."

Aile: "She couldn't survive?! But... why? I couldn't even say goodbye to her!"

The brown-haired woman fell into her knees, shocked with the bad news.

Dr. Fleuve: "I could hack the software but... Albert did put a virus inside of her. It was so well hidden that it wasn't detectable by any possible means. When I was erasing the countdown program... it did acted making Pandora malfunctioning and transforming her into a Cyberelf(1)... she did just... passed away and I've failed."

(1): Reploids sometimes leave data behind in a form of a ball of light. Cyberelfs would be like their souls.

With tears on her eyes, changes her face to a determined one, gnashes her teeth before standing up again.

Aile: "Alouette once told me... that dead Reploids go to a place called the Cyberspace. "

Dr. Fleuve: "Aile... there are some dangerous limits that even ZX can't cross. Pandora requested to me to don't call you if things got ugly as a last will. She didn't want to cause you any pain. That reploid probably died happier than she have ever lived thanks to you."

Prairie appears, crying like Aile and shaking her head.

Alouette: "He's right. The Cyberspace rejects Life. It will try to consume your energy like if you were a pile of corrupted data, it's so hostile... even terrible villains lie there with spite to us for succeeding in past wars against them. We don't know what dangers you'll face. It's a suicide! I don't want to lose you! Pandora wouldn't let you go either..."

Aile: "I know that this is selfish and you did all what you could! But... I can't leave everything like this! Damn it! Alouette, I need to know how to enter! Pandora deserves to live!"

Alouette: "With one condition... if you see that something is too much for you, you'll evacuate inmediately. Otherwise, I'll protect you keeping it to myself."

Aile: "I promise!"

Alouette: "Area N, where you fought the corrupt data of Omega Zero(2) some time ago. If you pay attention to the Black Hole in the background... the reason of him being there was that the Border with this world and the Cyberspace is weaker there."

(2): Final Boss from Mega Man Zero 3, Zero's original body but controlled by Dr.Weil.

Aile: "So that's why he attacked me... honestly after facing him I don't believe I'll see anything worse if it comes alone. But I'll keep my promise!"

Dr. Fleuve: "Remain as calmed as you can... I know that she's important to you but you are for us. Don't throw your life away. Return alive... and I'm sorry. If you make it, I'll replicate her original body without battle armors to make her a civilian reploid again and enter her Cyberelf into it. Albert's classified data have enough information for that, even I could make some sort of Alternative W-Model with her current corpse to allow her to switch between her combat and civilian body. But... is too soon to talk."

Aile: "No need to apologize, we all did fail. And I'll see if I can fix it. It would be cool to see her with her real body."

Alouette: "You don't have much time to recover her Cyberelf until it disappears remaining trapped on the Cyberspace. Be hurry."

The Guardian nods and transforms into ZX to start running with the moments next to Pandora in mind, to motivate herself.

Aile: "I did promise you a Rematch, and I'll be there to give you that and more Rainbow Candies!"

Prairie and Fleuve were worried, on their faces fear could be seen.

Alouette: "Aile..."

Dr. Fleuve: "Giro, protect your apprentice... don't let her die in such a dark and cold place."

Meanwhile, the Guardian teleported via trans-server to Area M and went even more deep to a darker place where no one was. For some reason an ominous and scary aura involved the atmosphere. The Black Hole in the background was like a warning about the living ones not being welcome.

Aile: "This abyss is intimidating but... now I can't go back! Pandora, wait for me!"

Jumps at full speed into the black hole and reality started changing. Her surroundings were changed into a black world, an infinite void without even stars. A green cyberelf could be witnessed foward going everytime further.

Aile: "Pandora! Ugh..."

As Fleuve and Alouette warned, Aile feels a pressure on her body. Her life energy was being drained by the place's conditions. A deep pain was striking the human.

Aile: "Hah, do you really think that I'm gonna give up so easily now that she was finally being happy!?"

Screams gnashing her teeth and focusing on resisting the pain, making herself to stay firm like if she was a spartan. Her iron will came from thinking on the moments with her deceased couple. Starts jumping deeper to pursue the Cyber elf but suddenly, the Cyberspace becomes even more hostile when some data source appear on her way. It was an old human in a black military armor with his head in an orange triangle-shaped crystal helmet. It was Dr. Weil, the dictator who was banished from the civilization of that time for being too dangerous and tried to conquer everything in Zero and Ciel's era. Smiles in a psychopatic way to Aile, an expression that makes the perfect example of a maniac and insane man that have lost reason, full of hatred.

Weil: "Well, look who came by. You remind me of someone that I hate with every last of my forces."

Aile: "I'm not Zero and I don't have time for your stupid issue!"

Weil: "That doesn't matter! You are the result of his existence and my defeat! I'LL ELIMINATE YOU NOW HAHAHAHAHA!! VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE! I AM DR. WEIL, THE LEGIT SOVEREIGN OF THE PLANET AND YOU'LL PAY FOR EVERYTHING!

Transforms into a giant machine with a great horn above.

Weil: "RAGNAROK(3) WILL SHOOT ONCE MORE! YOU HAVE NOWHERE TO RUN!"

(3): Ragnarok was a massive cannon that was going to fire from Space to destroy everything Weil didn't like.

Aile prepared her weapons and the buster remembering more warnings from her two companions about villains not being too happy to see them and the promise to Prairie, she knew that the life drain effect and Weil's pressence could make impossible the mission. But she laughs painfully.

Aile: "It's not precisely an honor to meet the old fart who almost exterminated humanity. I spit on your name, rightful sovereign of the worst scum ever. You won't beat me... I must..."

The Guardian was feeling tired even without beginning to fight. Cyberspace was doing its best to have her soul, her nose started bleeding.

Aile: "I'm not allowed to fail her!"

Weil: "Are you here for love? MWAHAHAHAHA. HOW PATHETIC! But fitting for someone like you. That Cyberelf will evaporate soon and join this reality. COME, ALBERT! You have a chance of redeeming yourself for your fail!"

Another big data source appeared next to the tyrant. It was a tall and intimidating white-haired man with red bloody-lust eyes who has a scary smile.

Albert: "I didn't have the opportunity of wiping you out of Earth's surface, ZX Model. What about fixing that mistake now? Caring about a mere puppet... HAHAHAHA! Prometheus and Pandora are of my property, you can't just try to steal me and expect nothing in return! Those traitors have what they deserve."

Aile: "Y-you... bastard! How dare you to private them of their own will! I'll cut you in half!"

The human makes a high jump to fall over Albert in a powerful rolling slash. The villain replies transforming into some sort of fallen seraph with a white tunic and enormous wings. It was his W-Model form. Inmediately a barrier repels Aile's attack and both of the enemies laugh.

Albert: "You don't have much time left. Pandora is getting away for every second and you can't almost even breath."

Weil: "I was going to execute her, but it's better to let her suffer and dismember her first!"

Aile was doing her best effort to stand up again, charging a buster shot while aiming to Albert's head.

Aile: "I should evac now... but I can't run away now! Forgive me, Alouette!"

?: "It's Enough already!"

Another voice could be heard and some new data did materialize a green armored reploid with a slim figure and a winged helmet. He had two violet lightsabers filled with electric energy. It was Sage Harpuia, one of the four Zero's former rivals and the Legendary Warrior of Wind.

Harpuia: "Your circus is getting over at once, Weil!"

Inmediately, makes a dash into the air to attack Weil from above, digging his sabers on the top of the tyrant's back.

Harpuia: "You, human! Stand up and fight like Zero! You are his legacy! I respected and admired that Reploid more than anything, so don't make him look like he was nothing! I, Sage Harpuia will fight at your side! Save that cyberelf of ending like us!"

Suddenly someone did dash behind Albert to cut his invisible shield's energy with a fast dashing slash on the halo over his head. A familiar face would appear. It was another Reploid with red, violet and greyish pieces of armor wielding a giant energy schythe. He had a psychotic smile on his face.

Prometheus: "To think that you really did beat us, Aile! Save my sister! This place is for a reaper like me and not her! Here I enjoy beheading bastards like him everyday. Hurry! We'll give you a chance of picking up her Cyberelf!"

Aile: "Prometheus... and the legendary Harpuia in person?"

Weil: "You again, Harpuia? TRAITOR TO ME AND NEO ARCADIA!"

Albert: "When you are destroyed, we'll just come back to Reality with the Hole ZX just did open HAHAHAHA!"

The tyrant fires two enormous laser rays to Harpuia. He blocks them with her swords minimizing the damage to a static discharge and Albert uses his wings to cause tornados, chasing Prometheus and Aile. The first grabs the second one by a hand and launches her far away to Pandora's cyberelf.

Prometheus: "Get my sister and go the fuck out of here! You better take care of her!"

Screams before falling to the ground with a strong noise. Aile, without doubting a moment grabs the green glowing light spirit and embraces it feeling its warmth.

Aile: "Did you miss me, rainbow-eater? Let's get back to home!"

The green warrior deployed some small spike-shaped drones to prevent Weil escaping to the alive world, is fighting against him and crossing his swords with his colossal horn.

Harpuia: "You have no chance of killing the dead! We are already deceased, so just evacuate before it's too late for you and her!"

The hole between realities was closing.

Aile: "Thank you... to you two."

Harpuia: "It's my way to pay my respects to Zero. This is the only way I have left, because we can't fight anymore."

Prometheus: "You owe me a rematch in the afterlife, Aile! Now scram!"

With his giant scythe being spinned at full speed, he makes four violet energy balls to shoot at Albert and prevent him from moving faster. Aile nods feeling grateful to her two saviors...

Aile: "I almost have no strenght... but just a last effort!"

Her body was failing, in the last moment she fell off to the ground after losing balance, ending outside of the black hole but gasping with an enormous pressure. A communication from HQ was entering.

Aile: "Ugh..."

Alouette: "Aile, please answer me!"

Aile: "That... was intense! I'll evac now, Pandora is with... me...."

She collapses losing consciousness, but her body was bleeding even to the point of losing the transformation. Pandora, in a form of Cyber Elf stayed around her and emitted some emerald light signals to ask for help.

Several hours later, at night, the girl was opening her eyes. Her sight was blurry and everything at sight looked like a white dream.

Aile: "U-Uhhh... my head!"

Suddenly a familiar voice can be heard.

?: "You can't live without me, hm?"

Aile: "Huh?"

A femenine silhouette was possible to distinguish.

Aile: "Am I... dead or in a dream?"

Pandora: "Open your eyes already, sleeping beauty."

Hearing Pandora's voice made Aile jump from the bed. She was bandaged in the head, legs and arms.

Aile: "Pandora? Where are you... Ouch!"

A sweet giggle sounded behind her. After turning around, she was there but with a different body. Her long and straight green hair was loose, flowing with the breeze that comes from the opened window. The straight bangs combining with her mischievous smile gave her a charming look. She was wearing now a white and blue dress with black adjusted leggings that mark her beautiful figure.

Pandora: "I'm always with you, so stop whining. You are alive and I see that you were crazy enough to go searching for me beyond the very same Border of Life. You are insane did you know?"

Runs to hug her girlfriend and gives Aile a short french kiss after surrounding her with the arms. The mischievous smile turned into a cuter one. They end blushing.

Aile: "I'm insane because I'm not letting you to leave me."

Pandora: "No problem. You won't escape now from me."

Aile: "I don't want to... ouch. My arms..."

Pandora: "You deserve it for almost throwing your life away just for me."

Aile: "But you are smiling more than ever."

Pandora: "You gave me a new life. I love you, Aile."

Aile: "Me too, okay? I'll rest a bit more, but... how am I here alive with you?"

Pandora: "I did give our location to HQ and they did rescue us. We were very worried. And you, what did you see there?"

Aile lays down in the bed again.

Aile: "Everything was darkness and Albert appeared with the same Weil from centuries ago. But when I was going to die, your brother helped me to escape and Harpuia too. Prometheus did ask me to take care of you."

Pandora: "He was excited for beheading people again, right?"

Aile: "Yes, you know him very well. As long as that people are like Albert or Weil there is no problem for me. We should call the others."

Pandora embarces Aile, careses her hair and whispers to her ear.

Pandora: "Not yet. I want you only for me right now. You must rest, If you don't you won't have me later at night."

Aile: "That's cruel! Okay... you win. Let's sleep a bit."

They turn the lights off and lay together in a bed for one, but without feeling uncomfortable. Pandora did put her head on Aile's chest and the other caresses her new hair passing her fingers through the emerald locks. The reploid reacts squinting her ruby eyes and relaxing her body.

Pandora: "Hmm... Aile, my weak point..."

Aile: "I love it... so soft and tickly. And your reaction is the best thing~."

Pandora: "Yours is nice too. But don't leave me disheveled... and just sleep."

She was the first one to fall asleep with Aile's gestures.

Aile: "You have been here for hours with me... that's why you are tired. Sweet dreams, Pandora. From now own, I'll make sure that reality is better too for you."
