CHAPTER 33: Layla's Resolve

I never would have guessed that she went through something this awful.

Pulling her into a tight embrace I gently caressed her supersoft hair.

"I don't know the right words to say but you have been through a lot of unfortunate events, and your heart has been tormented a lot. I'm really sorry you had to bear all that pain alone."

I pulled away and wiped the tears with my thumbs. " I will never hate you because of the things you did in the past, we learn from our mistakes, despite all that I know you are warm hearted. Actually you shouldn't feel bad for killing those cocksuckers, I myself would have done the same thing or worse because they deserved it, those soldiers where at the wrong place and at the wrong time so-

Kean continued his endless blubbering trying to make Aeverie feel better, he didn't know that she was already on cloud nine because he was the only person that didn't view her as evil, Even Esther the only person who treated her like a sister distanced herself when she heard rumours about the Dark Princess.

Aeverie was sure that she was the last person Esther could rely on when Valgrid wanted to kill her baby, but kean didn't even think twice to accept her. She could see in his eyes that the feelings Kean displayed were genuine.

"Don't let your powers define you, people may see them as evil but I don't, The dark element is one of my favourites, it's beauty is unique and that make you one of a kind."

Her heart literally stopped, Those where the words she thought she would never hear, someone actually like her despite the possession of powers that made her have an evil side, in Aeverie's view she saw it as a love confession, she thought no man will love her because of her dark nature. This alone made her eyes look like a water fall.

"What's wrong did I say something wrong?"

Aeverie shook her head while she cried uncontrollable in his chest, she didn't sob like this when she narrated the death of her parents yet Kean's words of accepting everything about her including the evil side she had made her emotions run wild.

"I know my body reeks of sweat, but I don't think I stink to the extent that I would make you cry this much." Kean spoke in sarcasm.

Aeverie shook her head again, After a while she separated from him and wiped her tears.

She gave him an effectionate gaze. " I'm very happy that you accepted me for whom I am, I can't even control my emotions."

"Thanks for opening up to me."

"I felt guilty for not telling you all my secrets."

Aeverie clutched her arm. "Your words alone have sent me in bliss, I never thought the ice in my heart will ever break." She slowly stood up, Kean stared at her shapely curves only to get a faint smile as she closed the door.

After an hour of struggling to wash his body due to the aching muscles, he got of the tub and just laid in his bed.

"Host, remember the gift you were supposed to be given after finishing your training."

Kean's mind lit up. "I was too tired that I forgot."

"As you know that when it comes to magic training you will get exhausted much faster due to constantly using mana, and they will be time when your magic will regenerate very slowly, all this will result in your training being draged back." The system paused.

"Come on, get to the good news already!"

"I found a place with a lot of mana fragments in the air, do you know what that means."

"It means that my mana will recover quickly and my training will progress a lot faster! Where's this place located."

"Do you remember that time when you fought Dragr's and the Draugr Lord was in some sort of parallel dimension."

"How could I forget that."

"The waterfall in which you fell, deep inside the water you will find a cave, if you kill all the draugrs, five pillers that act as a gate will appear and teleport you to the Draugr Lord..

The problem is that once you are transferred inside the moments you teleport back the gate vanishes and you can't be sent back inside."

"That means I have to camp inside until I finish training."

"Aha, but your training will have to be cut short. As you have awakened I'm sure the dragon blade have also awakened, the energy that will be radiating from it will attract many creatures, even stronger humans, when I say creatures I'm not talking about draugr, I'm talking about creatures with intelligence. Battle for the dragon will be fought."

My expression changed as the tone of the system became serious.

'I need to retrieve the dragon blade as soon as possible.' I started wondering about some Sexy vampires.

"Sexy and yet deadly, you and your girlfriends need to become stronger."

'I'm really trying to make it go that girlfriend route.'

As I was chatting with the system, Layla walked inside carrying a tray of food with an alluring smell, but something seemed different.

45 minutes before

"Why the heck would I wear that dress I'm not going to a date okay." Layla yelled with a flashed face.

Aeverie sat on the bed tapping her cheek deep in thought.

"OK fine since you don't want that dress, then how about this one." A maid dress materialised in her hand.

"A-A maid dress, a maid dress! seriously! what did I request to you!"

"Hahaha, ok ok I was just teasing you, but the clothes you wear can boost your confidence and with these few tips you will be good to go. Aeverie taped Layla's shoulders with her telekinesis.

"You have used those tips before right?"

"Naah, I only read them in books."

She sighed in distress.

In the end Layla just wore a t-shirt dress, something she felt comfortable in, she unhooked the bum freeing her hair, the only thing she changed was that she added cute little curly bangs that furthered her cuteness.

"Mmmh This looks more like you." Aeverie mused with narrowed eyes.

Layla nodded with a smile. "I don't need something flashy so I can look special to Kean, I'm already special in his heart. He loves me and this is the real me."

She fixed her brows and got up.
