chapter 10 Mother hen

"Good morning, Lucky".how was your night? she greeted her dog. I'm going for a short exercise do you mind tagging along.

woof...woof... Lucky barked in respond.fine, let go then Leah said and they both headed their way towards the empty street.

The sun was already up when Leah returned home with her dog.

That was fun right,Leah said as she wiped off the sweat on her face. I think you should be hungry by now. I already bought you some dog food when I went to the market yesterday and am sure you are going to like it.she walked to the kitchen and came back with the dog food.here you go... she said as she serve the dog... she was playing with his fur and watching him munching the food when her gazed fell on the clock hanged on the wall. the time says 10:25,upon looking at the time her big eyes became even more bigger.

Oh no,she remembered that Maya told her yesterday that she would be at the airport by eleven waiting for her to come and pick her.

she dashed upstairs to the bathroom to freshen up and within a minute she ran out of the bathroom to her bed .she quickly dried herself and picked some clothes to wear.

oh no,am going to be late..... Maya will be angry with me,she muttered to herself.when she was done dressing she picked her bag and ran downstairs.

Lucky,I have somewhere to go and I might not come back early, please take care of the house for me...ok.she said before closing the door behind her.

she waited for about ten minutes at the bus stop before she saw a taxi coming ahead.....wait wait!

she quickly stop the taxi,pls take me to the airport she said and jumped into the passenger sit so the car drove off.

please hurry..... she said as she moved to checked her phone,it was 11:32 already,and she had gotten missed calls...

oh god! eight missed calls from Maya she is definitely at the airport by now.she was about to call her when Maya calls again.she took a deep breath before she picked the call.

Hello Leah! where are you?, I'd been waiting at the entrance and I didn't see you.there was a silent before Leah speak up.... am.....am on my way already.am sorry I don't know that the time was these gone. W.....what,you don't know that the time was these gone.

Maya said yelling so loudly on the phone that Leah have to Held it away from her ear at arm's length.when the yelling stopped,she held the phone back to ear and apologize.....Am sorry,am almost there,she said and cut the call because if she didn't do that she will continue yelling.

Maya is that kind of girl that easily got angry over little things....

In a couple of minutes,the taxi arrived at the airport.

ma'am we've gotten to your destination,the driver said."thank you",Leah said and she hopped out of the car and head toward the entrance.

standing at the entrance with her luggages,was a woman of about twenty-six...she is putting on make-up with short hair.she is dressed in a red short gown and wore a Black high heeled pumps.around her neck there is a striped patterned scarf and she is wearing a sunglasses.

Maya!!!,Leah called her name.upon seeing her, Maya walked up to her leaving her luggages behind...

why are you just coming now?what keeps you late?why aren't you here before me?.Maya was looking furious as she immediately rattled up the questions like a mother hen... Am sorry,I didn't checked the time.... pls forgive me. Leah said and she cupped her hand.

since you are here I have forgiven you.Maya said and they embraced each other's warmth. I've missed you so much Leah... I missed you too.look at how beautiful you've become....hmm. but you are looking prettier than I, Maya said with a huge on her face.

where are your luggages let me help you... it over there but am waiting for someone to bring my cars,she said pointing at the direction where the luggages is.

Leah Said with a curious expression on her face.but Maya said nothing again.

finally,Maya said with a smile on her face as she saw a car approaching them.the driver hopped down from the car and handed the key to Maya.before she could looked up again,the second car arrived and a gentle man got from the car and also gave the car key to her.

here is your car ma'am.thank you... she said as she looked at the man walking away. Leah was beside her watching what her friend is up to when Maya give her the first car key... take,this is my gift for you.

Maya said and she handed the key to Leah.

w.....what,a car for me. Leah asked in surprised.... you bought me a car..... as a gift.she was lost in taught admiring the car in front of her.

I had been thinking of what to give you as a give and this came to my mind,It been a long time since we've seen each other last,I don't know if you would like or should I get you another thing.

what,I love it. Leah said and she hugged her friend very thight.thank very much Maya,I really love it...you will Choke me to death if stay a little longer. Maya said coughing and she quickly released her.

oh am sorry,are you alright.

how can I be alright when you nearly kill me,at least you should feed me before you send me to heaven.Maya said trying to regain her breathing.

so did you bring food along with you. no,I didn't Leah said smiling.she knew what Maya meant.

oh god!,am so famished that I could devour a whole cow right now. Maya said with a kind of expression on her face.

let go home I will cook for you.no that going to take long can't we go the restaurant,or do you want me to die on the way home.

Maya said again with a little worried in her voice.

ok let go then,Leah said laughing and she packed the luggages in the car boot and they both drove off .
