Assault on Noble Shadow Base

Two days passed by in the blink of an eye.

All the warriors who were planning to attack the Noble Shadow's base were nervous. They were taking a huge risk, and if anything went wrong, they could even lose their lives!

In the meantime, the Noble Shadow had been resisting the attacks of the mercenaries recruited by the influential merchants in Dongchun City.

Slowly but surely, Dongchun City's citizens were realizing the Noble Shadow's true power.

Even when the Benevolent Corps consisting of hundreds of warriors and the mercenaries recruited by merchants, attacked the Noble Shadow organization, they still couldn't win.

These battles had extended for nearly three weeks now.

And today, the biggest battle would occur in the Noble Shadow's base. Even the Noble Shadow had no idea that such a thing was going to occur.

All the Benevolent Corps, the Twin Cold Sabers, and the other four-star warriors that Ren Yue had manipulated were observing this base from afar.

They sat in different locations and waited for the signal.

After an hour, Long Chen and Ren Yue finally saw an opportunity. A batch of mighty warriors left the Noble Shadow's base and was probably heading towards the central plaza. The merchants were about to take over this area.

"Everyone, get ready! We will launch an attack after thirty minutes!" Ren Yue spoke out to inform her subordinates.

Her subordinates, including the Benevolent Corps, cheered upon receiving this order.

One of the Benevolent Corps raised a sizeable yellow flag. The purpose of this flag was to inform the Twin Cold Sabers and the other warriors to get ready. They were about to attack soon.

Thirty minutes later, the yellow flag was replaced with a red flag as Ren Yue bellowed, "Charge!"

All the warriors in the area attacked the Noble Shadow's base at that moment.

The guards near the base were startled as they saw hundreds of warriors charging with great momentum.

The guards immediately struck the bell thrice to inform the entire base that they were under attack.

Many warriors came out of the base to defend this base.

However, Ren Yue's forces were a little too great to be stopped by these guards. They easily pushed these guards away and entered the building.

After entering the building, Long Chen and Ren Yue kept their close comrades near while letting the other warriors cause havoc in this base.

Very soon, nearly all the warriors in the base came out and fought Ren Yue's forces. Well, everyone, excluding the members of the council.

But this only worked in Ren Yue's favor. The four-star warriors on their side were slaughtering many guards and warriors of the opposition.

After defeating the warriors near the entrance, they all started charging into various rooms. It didn't take them long to find the room where the council members had gathered.

Ren Yue immediately ordered the Twin Cold Sabers and the other two 4 Star Warriors, "Keep them occupied."

"Got it," The Twin Cold Sabers obeyed her orders.

The other two 4 Star Warriors noticed that Ren Yue appeared to be the leader of this entire assaulting force. They felt that disobeying her wouldn't be a good idea and also nodded affirmatively.

"…We will defeat them quickly," One of these warriors spoke. He noticed that there were only two warriors of the Noble Shadow in this room.

It would be a four-against-two battle. They should win pretty easily, considering their numerical advantage and the morale boost.

Ren Yue nodded and spoke, "Good. I will lead my warriors to the other parts and kill the remaining guards in this building."

After speaking those words, Ren Yue left the room quickly.

Meanwhile, the Twin Cold Sabers stared at her opponents rather curiously.

One was an old man, while the other was a middle-aged man. The old man was Elder Wen Shi, while the middle-aged man was Xu Chen.

Elder Wen Shi retained his composure even as he saw four 4 Star Warriors entering the room to fight him.

Meanwhile, Xu Chen seemed to be trembling while gazing at his opponents. His hand holding the Spear was shaking.

Elder Wen Shi glared at the Twin Cold Sabers and spoke, "I never expected that the Twin Cold Sabers would join some brigands and attack us."

Xiao Lan snorted in disdain and responded, "In my eyes, this Noble Shadow is much more of a brigand than the Benevolent Corps."

Qian Yanyu added, "You have looted so many merchants and troubled the lives of countless citizens. This is retribution for your actions!"

Elder Wen Shi rolled his eyes upon hearing their righteous words. He spoke, "Whatever. Let me test the might of the Twin Cold Sabers."

He brandished his sword and charged at them. Even though Elder Wen Shi is a 4 Star Warrior, his speed is still rather impressive.

At the least, the two 4 Star Warriors who arrived with the Twin Cold Sabers had trouble reacting to that speed.

However, this wasn't such a big deal for the Twin Cold Sabers. They instantly pulled their Sabers. Xiao Lan blocked Elder Wen Shi's attack by utilizing her own technique, while Qian Yanyu utilized this opportunity to launch an attack on Elder Wen Shi's body.

Elder Wen Shi's complexion turned slightly ugly as he changed his mind about attacking them. He halted and raised his sword to block Qian Yanyu's attack.

Qian Yanyu's eyes widened slightly as Elder Wen Shi stopped in the middle. And before she could react, Elder Wen Shi pushed her toward Xiao Lan.

Xiao Lan naturally dodged her senior sister's incoming body and launched a triple-step sword technique.

Wen Shi was forced back by a couple of steps. Qian Yanyu rolled on the ground and was back on her feet rather quickly.

She joined her junior sister and targeted Wen Shi's flanks.

Elder Wen Shi was rather indignant as Qian Yanyu and Xiao Lan had a nearly perfect combo.

He looked to the side and noticed that Xu Chen was in an even worse state as he had to block powerful assaults from the other two 4 Star Warriors.

Elder Wen Shi jumped back to create some distance. Qian Yanyu and Xiao Lan didn't follow him. They felt that it was a trap.

Elder Wen Shi soon picked up a large azure ball and infused it with his Ardor.

The entire azure ball turned green. Upon noticing that color change, Qian Yanyu and Xiao Lan instantly muttered, "An Array Sphere?!"

Before they could react, the entire room was sealed with green-colored energy.

"W-What is going on?!" Xiao Lan wondered.

Elder Wen Shi smiled, "Hehe…This is a defensive array constructed by my friend. I owe him a huge favor due to this."

Qian Yanyu looked around and felt that something was wrong. The tiles on the floor seemed a bit different, and the same was true about the roof.

There were rough patches and soft patches on the floor.

"This array was constructed recently?!" Qian Yanyu made a terrifying guess.

"You are truly worthy of your reputation. That's correct. We arranged these arrays just three weeks ago," Elder Wen Shi spoke.

His smile suggested that he was indeed telling the truth. He further spoke, "We have been waiting for this assault for quite some time. Haha…"

The 4 Star Warriors on Ren Yue's side were instantly shocked to hear this information. Xu Chen took advantage of this opportunity to envelop his sword with Lightning and stab one of the warriors.

This stab didn't just injure the warrior but also paralyzed him.

The Twin Cold Sabers instantly tried to get out of the room through the door. However, the greenish energy wall prevented them from leaving.

Nothing happened even when the Twin Cold Sabers attacked that green wall with all their might.

"Haha…This is useless! This array is created by a 4 Star Array Master who is on the verge of becoming a 5 Star Array Master. You can't break it!"
