Fighting Zhu Hui

The Twin Cold Sabers turned around and stared at the green sphere in Elder Wen Shi's hand.

They knew that only by acquiring that green sphere could they get out. This meant they had to beat Elder Wen Shi.

With a newfound objective, the Twin Cold Sabers attacked Elder Wen Shi.

In the meantime, Long Chen and Ren Yue were leading their close comrades to the treasury. The council member they had captured naturally informed them of the location of this treasury.

Ren Yue and Long Chen soon defeated the treasury guards and entered.

The treasury was a vast room divided into different blocks and sections. The resources occupied the largest space. The second largest space was assigned to treasures, such as weapons and armor. Lastly, the pellets were assigned a block.

Ren Yue spoke out, "Alright. Gather these resources." Her subordinates were rather excited as they gazed at this treasury.

They soon began to move.

Just as these warriors were about to pick up those resources, the roof trembled slightly. A gap opened inside the roof, and many warriors jumped down from that space.

Long Chen was startled as he noticed so many 3 Star Warriors coming down.

As soon as those warriors jumped down, they engaged Ren Yue's subordinates in a battle.

Long Chen instantly turned around and planned to escape. However, the door of the treasury seemed to be coated with light green energy.

Long Chen realized that this was a trap.

At this moment, a warrior jumped down from that gap. This was actually a 4 Star Warrior!

Long Chen and Ren Yue were startled. They thought that the only 4 Star Warriors of the Noble Shadow were fighting against the Twin Cold Sabers and the other two 4 Star Warriors.

However, it seemed as though one of them was waiting for them in the treasury.

"…To think that the leader of the Benevolent Corps is such a beautiful woman," The 4 Star Warrior spoke as he gazed at Ren Yue with a composed look.

This 4-Star Warrior is none other than Zhu Hui. He was the one who predicted this attack weeks earlier. And it was on his request that Elder Wen Shi contacted a peak 4 Star Array Master to prepare these defensive arrays.

"Y-You. How could you be here?!" Ren Yue asked as she was caught utterly off-guard by this development.

Zhu Hui smiled upon hearing her words and responded calmly, "I predicted this assault much earlier and naturally prepared some countermeasures. While setting up some defensive arrays, I also changed the layout of some rooms and created a few secret tunnels that would allow me to move around the base quickly. This is one such tunnel that would open directly inside the treasury."

"When your group attacked, I gathered all my loyal subordinates and hid inside this tunnel. After discovering that you are the leader, I followed you to find your objective. It seems that this treasury is your true objective," Zhu Hui spoke.

"Unfortunately, you will lose your life here," Zhu Hui spoke rather calmly.

Ren Yue unconsciously gazed in Long Chen's direction to look for support. She was utterly disturbed by Zhu Hui's words and wanted his assistance.

In fact, Long Chen was also shaken. He didn't expect someone like Zhu Hui to predict his actions.

"Everyone, they are just ten or so warriors while we number greater than thirty! We still hold the advantage in this battle. Don't be flustered and attack!" Long Chen tried to raise his side's morale while urging them to attack.

This tactic worked as his side forcefully suppressed their fear and attacked Zhu Hui and his subordinates.

Unfortunately, Zhu Hui and his subordinates came prepared. They all brandished their weapons and charged toward Long Chen and his subordinates.

Despite possessing the numerical advantage, Long Chen's subordinates couldn't suppress the enemy side.

Zhu Hui stepped forward and killed a couple of Long Chen's subordinates.

Long Chen and Ren Yue's eyes widened upon witnessing this scenario.

Long Chen whispered, "If we let him kill any more warriors, we will definitely lose. We need to defeat him quickly!"

"But how? He is a 4-Star Warrior?" Ren Yue whispered with a deep fear evident in her eyes.

She had just recently advanced to the 3-Star Rank. Even though she was utilizing a much superior cultivation technique, it still couldn't bridge the massive gap between their ranks.

Long Chen knew that Ren Yue's fear was very natural. No typical 3-Star Warrior would dare to attack a 4-Star Warrior.

However, Long Chen knew that doing nothing would also result in his demise. It would just be a bit slower as compared to fighting directly.

Long Chen leaped towards Zhu Hui and shoved him away without wasting a moment.

Zhu Hui was startled by this attack and was thrown back by a few meters. He stood up and saw Long Chen rolling on the ground and running straight at him.

Zhu Hui brandished his longsword made of iron and some other alloy. This sword shone with a bluish color as he attacked Long Chen.

Long Chen pulled out a dagger from his sleeves and utilized all the Ardor in his body to narrowly parry Zhu Hui's sword.

Zhu Hui's pupils narrowed as he noticed this. He could feel a relatively dense Ardor from Long Chen, which was somewhat surprising for a 3-Star Warrior.

However, this surprise didn't affect Zhu Hui all that greatly. He planned to adjust his Ardor accordingly to ensure Long Chen's death or at least inflict a serious injury.

Long Chen gathered a dense Wind Energy over his palms and whispered, "Intense Gust!"

This was also a strong attack, and it released a powerful shockwave that made Zhu Hui's body crash into that green wall.

The green energy wall remained fine as Zhu Hui's body soon fell on the floor.

Zhu Hui stood up, and there was a smile on his face. Flame emerged from his palm and soon enveloped his sword.

Zhu Hui took steady steps as he prepared to swing his sword.

Long Chen looked back for a second. He gazed at Ren Yue and gave her a nod before rushing toward Zhu Hui.

Zhu Hui noticed that little interaction and tightly held his sword. When Long Chen was in range, Zhu Hui quickly brandished his sword to strike him.

However, surprisingly, Long Chen's body turned illusionary before completely dispersed into thin air. Zhu Hui instantly realized that this was an illusion.
