Reincarnated Hero System

It was just a game; one Evan played way too much, but it was still a game in the end. At least it that’s what it was supposed to be... However, on the day the main quest ended, he discovered it was more than just a game. The world of Aidos was real and the demon threat was even more so. He was sent to be the leader of the new generation of heroes and save the world from the demon invasion by the god who made the game. Unfortunately, nothing was as simple as it may have seemed. As the truth behind the invasion and the previous Seven Heroes was slowly revealed, he began to have second thoughts about his choices. He began questioning if the demons were truly the enemies of Aidos. Even more so, when he discovered a new truth. That he may not actually be who he thought he was. #wsa2022 WSA 2022 Entry [Check out my other stories from my profile: Godslayer’s Legend & Beyond the Bloodline] ◇ ◇ ◇ Discord Link: https://discord.gg/ZXyAjGtS4r ◇ ◇ ◇ Support Me: https://ko-fi.com/michae_l ◇ ◇ ◇ I'm new to writing so I hope you all will support me on this journey. And the experience pours in...

"Fuck!"

**BOOOOMMMM!!!!!

There was a blinding flash of light, followed by a large explosion, the kind that was powerful enough to crumble a duplex to dust if it was hit by such an explosion.

The Leopard had not hesitated to utilize its newly acquired skill to condense energy in its mouth and fired it at its assailants.

And right after it did so, it turned tail and began to run away.

It was weakened, after all. Even if its existence level had risen, it needed to recover from its wounds before it could display its full might.

But there was no way Evan would let it go. The boy stretched out his palm and uttered two words.

"Energy Blast."

A condensed beam of light shot out at a frightening speed towards the leopard's leg, hitting it accurately. It was a destructive skill so the Blessing of Destruction activated, increasing its power by 30%.

Without waiting for the monster's body to even fall, Evan had already dashed towards it, while Laurene roused her magic power and cast a buff on Evan.

"Thunder Spirit!"

The spell she had chosen to use was a fairly simple support magic spell that just about any mage could use if they knew the magic circle and chant for it. But since she had the Chant Revocation skill, she could cast it instantly.

Its effects were increasing his attack power and movement speed by 50%, which was quite a lot and it also had the added effect of infusing his weapon with lightning when he attacked.

The drawback, however, was that after the buff ended, the boy's abilities would be decreased by more than 50% for some time.

50% buff for 50 seconds in exchange for 50% weakening afterwards.

The duration was fairly short, but for the current situation, it was more than enough for Evan to catch up to the weakened leopard that had lost a leg and could not run properly.

His paladin skill also boosted his speed, his blessing of destruction's 10% stat boost, and the other 10% from the Reincarnated hero System with the 120% stat effectiveness—all these were more than enough for him to reach the monster when coupled with Laurene's buff.

He spiralled magic power around his sword and thrust it forward at a speed that humans on his home planet could definitely not achieve with their bodies.

"KKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The leopard's skin and flesh were pierced through with ease. Its muscle strands shot up before cracking apart and bursting out in blood.

While its pain-filled scream became higher, Evan only had the thought to finish it instantly.

He thrust his sword towards the monster's wounded head, piercing through its wounded eye socket and the lightning infusion from Laurne's buff mixed with the magic power in his weapon and ignited, causing a golden light to cover their visions.

Immediately after, a huge amount of blood, which couldn't be said to be a result of a normal attack, soaked Evan's body.

The boy's eyes felt hot, but such pain was nothing when compared to the benefits he had received.

He had levelled up 7 times and had unlocked his Mystic Eyes Stage One.

Evan sat on the ground weakly while looking at his status board with a satisfied smile on his face.

Seeing that the Mystic Eyes had been awakened, he looked around to see if he could find any spirits but saw nothing.

'Well, there's no way they'd be in a dungeon where a demon is sealed.'

Laurene and Ralphie came up to him, with the princess hurriedly checking his body as she knew the side effect of her buff and wanted to be sure he was fine.

"I'm fine. If you have the strength to check my body, go pull out the leopard's magic stone, I wanna use it for something."

From the system information, he could use the magic stone to increase his existence level; something he saw could be done by absorbing energy cores, a.k.a. magic stones. The plan was to do this after getting the Sword of pride though, and not immediately.

As Laurene went to get the magic stone, Ralphie pulled out a healing artifact and used it on him.

"Good work, young master."

"A compliment from you? Now that's even rarer than unique skills."

Evan laughed to himself as Laurene came back with the magic stone. At this point, the other adventurers had recovered themselves and come over to the trio.

Some came to thank Evan and Laurene, however, when they saw the magic stone in Laurene's hands, a hint of greed flashed in their eyes.

It was a Level 55 monster's magic stone, after all, a big haul for low-ranked adventurers like them.

Ralphie noticed this and wanted to act, but Evan just stopped him and gestured for them to speak.

Distribution of war spoils had always been a problem, even during raid events in 'Aidos Online' that involved multiple guilds.

Though it was good to fight with one mind, the real problem was after the fight when mankind's inherent greed reared its head in the face of the war spoils after the fight.

Moreover, since they had clear proof that they fought with their lives on the line, no one would want to forgo their rewards for another person.

The problem was that everyone here had put their lives on the line to fight.

They all wanted a piece of the materials from a level 55 monster, those who had lost comrades demanded even more materials, they somehow felt they could take advantage of Laurene and Evan because they were kids.

They conveniently ignored Ralphie who was standing beside them.

'Pride, huh? This status effect of theirs is really a hassle.'

However, Evan could not really care about how they wanted to distribute it as all he really wanted was the magic stone.

Whatever they did with the rest of the monster was their problem to deal with, not his.

'Hmm…let's threaten them a bit.'

As they were arguing amongst themselves, Evan just silently stood up and stretched out his arm.

The ones who saw Evan's last attacks all recognized that gesture. They sensed and saw magic power gathering on Evan's open palm which he pointed towards them wordlessly.

"Wait, don't kill them, Evan."

"I wasn't really going to, but why?"

"Um…Because Sir Ralphie is here."

At her words, Ralphie slowly placed his hand on his sword hilt and released a bit of his icy aura into the surroundings, causing the ground where they stood to slightly freeze over.

"Pfftt…Really, Laurene? Yvonne's gotten to you more than you think."

"huh? Come to think of it, you may be right."

The two shared a little conversation that no one around them understood before Evan turned to Ralphie and told him to forget about the adventurers.

'I have to find the Fifth floor's Fake Entrance that leads to the Hundredth floor, not bother about a monster corpse with other people.'
