An Extended Family

The moment we got down, we headed outside. There was a limousine waiting for us. There was a Men In Black-esc man standing outside of it.

The man opened the door for us, signaling us to go inside the car.

Once we were inside, I wasn't even surprised. It was a really high-quality limo. It had multiple fridges with a sunroof that spanned the length of the limo.

Basically, it was a rich man's car. I guess that this would be the life that I would be living from now on.

We drove for about a half an hour until we reached our destination. I had no clue where we would be going, but I assumed that it would be our new house. Maybe a huge marble mansion with a lot of windows.

I was partially correct. It was definitely a mansion, but it was less flashy than I thought it would be. It just looked like a really large, clean, house.

We walked into the front yard of the mansion as we prepared to go inside. there were two maids standing in the gateway.

"Welcome back. The mistress is waiting for you in the main room," One maid said.

My father immediately tensed up.

"Megu, be respectful to your granny. She can be a little strict at times," My dad said.

Good to know

The moment we entered the house, we were in a large room. At the end of the room was a chair, and on the chair, there was a woman.

This woman looked no older than 30. She had long, black hair and a stunning figure.

You can imagine my surprise when my father said, "Hello mother, it has been a while,"

"Welcome back home, my idiot son. I thought you had a daughter, not a son," She said, looking straight at me.

"This is our daughter Megumin," My father said.

"A stupid name," She said.

I agree.

For some reason, she barely even looked at my mother. I wonder why. My mother also was avoiding making eye contact with her.

"Take your wife and leave this room. I want to have a private conversation with your little daughter," She said.

My father had a concerned look on his face, but he had no choice but to leave the room. It was clear who the boss was in this household.

Once my father had left the room, she gestured for me to come nearer to her. The moment I did, I was met with a huge hug.

"OHHH, MEGU-CHAN! DO YOU REMEMBER ME? I AM YOUR GRANDMOTHER! YOU ARE SO CUTE! YOU'VE GROWN SO BIG!!!!" That was a quick change.

"Sorry for being mean, sweetie. You see, your father and I have not been on great terms recently," She said.

Even so, that was a really quick change in attitude.

"It's fine, granny!" I said. It was weird calling such a young-looking woman grandma.

"OH MY GOD! SHE CALLED ME GRANNY!" She said blushing.

This was going to be a really long day.
