Leaving The Fam Behind.

That was all 4 years ago.

Waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the figure in the bed had groaned. 'Todays the day, huh..?' His thoughts were slowed from tiredness and exhaustion. 'I didn't...have any time to pack..' Flipping the covers off himself, his body slowly rose into the air.

Looking at him now, you wouldn't guess that this was the same kid from 4 years ago. He now had long, black luscious hair which was in a pony tail. His blue eyes had grown to be deeper than the ocean. His figure was slim, yet muscular which made him intimidating as well as his height of 6 foot.

'August 1st, 2021. The day me and the gang...set out to the prestigious school for heroes..' He passed by his calendar while yawning. He made his way over to his wardrobe and started packing. 'Nothing really happened in the past 4 years. We grew up, had fun together, made memories and so on..'

A weary smile had started forming on his face. 'Atleast...we'll be together through high school...' The hero school was a copy and paste of one from overseas and so they followed the same system which was having 3 years of high school instead of 4.

It was strange but Nolan had just shrugged it off. 'We'll make a lot more memories together...as being heroes and stuff, I guess..' He finished packing everything in his suitcase. The amount of clothing he packed was enough for one week. He then started getting dressed himself.

He took a shower, brushed his teeth and put on deodorant, put clothes on and then cleaned his room. 'All the memories in here..' He remembered a time like when he flew Diana in here and would have done something if his mom didn't barge in and beat the crap out of him right in front of her.

'Wait, that was last night..'

He rubbed his head while making his way towards the door. 'But seriously, I'm gonna miss this place. The people too..' As he opened the door, he saw two familiar figures standing there with smiles on their faces.

"Jeez...what took so long, Nolan..?" Lily, who was now a bit taller, had said while looking away with a pout. She was a bit more mature now but had still looked the same, facial wise. "You knew we were here, and yet you still took your precious time? You really are my son!"

His mom put him into the headlock while giving him a noogie. 'Guess she's not mad anymore..' He looked at her out of the corner of his eyes as a rising smile formed on his face. His mom looked the same as well. You could go as far as saying that she looks younger actually.

"S-Sorry, guys. I forgot to pack in all honesty.." She let go of him and started crossing her arms like Lily had been doing. "Shocker.." She said sarcastically while turning around and beggining to walk off.

"You have everything, right..?" She started questioning as he and Lily started following behind her. "Yes. Tookbrush, clothes, deodorant, shoes, socks, underwear, I have it all.." She slowly nodded while taking out something from her back pocket.

"I see. Well, I got you something. Use them well, okay?" She tossed him a box in which he caught. "Hm? What's that, mom?" Lily looked over into his hands and read the words on the packaged box. As she did, her face starting lighting up. "M-M-M-Mom!"

Jennifer laughed while Nolan was still examining it. 'Condoms? You shouldn't have..' He put them away while thanking her. "You're welcome.." She said as they arrived in the living room. Lily ran away in embarrassment and to the couch.

"So? Tell me, Nolan. How do you feel? Anxious? Nervous? Overwhelmed?" Jennifer asked in curiosity as she took a bite out of an apple. "I feel...fine. I've been preparing for this my whole life basically.."

The school he was going to had recommended parents to enroll their child in a certain school system if they had planned on going to the prestigious high school.

Knowing that, Jennifer had signed both Nolan and Lily up for that school system, so they basically have been following a path since 6. "True. I guess anyone in our predicament would have been waiting for this their entire life.."

This system was all throughout America and was available to anyone who wanted to be a hero. "Well, anyways, I can tell that you're a little nervous, so let me tell you this.." She put on her serious face which made it so that Nolan couldn't look at anything but her.

"We will always support you. No matter what happens, me and your sister will always have your back. Do you understand?"

Lily had came up and hugged around his waist. She had tears in her eyes and was holding onto him so tightly that not even the strongest man in the world could undo the grip. "P-Pwease be careful, Nolan~" She said in a babyish voice. Jennifer then came up and hugged him as well.

"My baby boy...you've grown into a fine young man. Make us proud, okay?"

Taken back by her and Lily's words, a single tear had formed and dropped onto Jennifer's clothes. "Thank you..." He had said quietly, but it was heard from the both of them. "Thank you...for being my family. I love you guys...so much..."

Growing up on earth without anyone truly loving him had left a deep scar in him. That is, until he cane to this world. Here he was blessed with a loving mother and a little sister. They both cared for him, treated him with respect and most importantly, they loved him.

They would do anything for him and he,...he'd do the same.

They sat in this position for a while. All 3 of them had remembered their time together and if they could, they'd continue it. "Time for you to go big guy.." Jennifer patted his back while pushing away. Lily undid her hold on him then covered her face to not show her runny makeup.

"While you should make us proud, don't forget to love yourself too. Always important to remember that.." She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. This embarrassed him as he looked away from her gaze. "Just like your father. I hope you know that you're both my heroes."

She giggled and backed away into a turn. She then went back to the kitchen. "Lily.." Nolan bent down towards her while putting his suitcase to the side. "W-What is it..?" She answered but still kept her face covered. "Let me see you again.."

She slowly put her hands down which showed her runny makeup. She had bubbled tears and her nose was runny. Nolan cupped her face and started rubbing it away while using his thumb.

"You're as beautiful as the day I first met you. I remember that you cried and cried all day and night long.

You were truly a pain in the ass. But, you were my pain in the ass. You were my best friend and you'd always cheer me up. Lily, I love you so, so much, more than you'd ever know. I'll always protect you and I'll always be there when you need me. I'm a yell away, y'know?"

Lily hiccuped while shaking her head. Her beet red face had became redder as he leaned in and kissed her on the forehead. "Make me proud while I'm gone. I'll do the same.." Lily jumped out and hugged him, not being able to suppress her feelings.

"I-I love you too, Nolan! I promise to make you proud! You have my word!" He rubbed on her back in a solemn manner. "I know you will..." Lily did everything in her power to stop herself from crying. She didn't want his last memory of her to be a crybaby.

"You guys are so cute. Now, hurry up, Nolan. I think everyones waiting for you outside.." He nodded and let go of Lily. She took the liberty of stealing a kiss from him on the cheek, an act which made him smile.

Grabbing his suitcase, he walked towards the door and reached for the handle. "I'll miss you guys. Remember, I'm only a hollar away. Don't be strangers.." They both nodded with satisfied smiles and he opened the door.

On the street, he saw a black and white SUV with multiple people leaning on it. "He's here. Let's go." One said which resulted in them all getting in. Only one had waited and she seemed the most enthusiastic.

'Mom, Lily, and even you dad. Thanks for everything. Without your support and love, I've probably would've gone mad..' He looked back at the house once more.

'Until we meet again, huh?'
