The Mysterious Tower (2)

"No..PlEAse.. KiL.." The voices were becoming more and more obvious as Link flew upwards. He was feeling sort of worried. Link only heard of Ghosts in stories, be it in this world or his old one, and none of the stories he heard had a good ending.. After all, Casper doesn't exist and real life was not a Disney movie.

"How does one fight a ghost anyways?" Link muttered.

<I don't know.. Holy water?>

[Holy water? No! That will pass right through them.. Maybe Light Element based Spells?]

"Are you both just guessing?" Link asked.

<Hmm.. Maybe>

[Yeah]

"Stop then" Link sighed. He didn't want one of their ideas to get inside his head and when he needs it most, it fails, causing him to get possessed or killed by whatever is upstairs.

[Don't blame me. My old master and I had never encountered a ghost before.. My master had an overwhelming aura that no lower being dared to approach or try anything]

<Will you ever shut up about your master?>

[Nope]

"Guys.. This is not the time for this!" Link reminded them as he stepped into the floor above the one he entered the tower from. The voices were louder, but still incomprehensible. Link was confused by this. "The voices are loud but I can't understand a word they're saying.. Why?" He proceeded scouting the rooms as his focus never left the voices.

Finding nothing on this floor as well, he went up another.. And another. Until he reached the last floor with a dome like ceiling. It was an open space without a corridor or any rooms, appearing like the tower was not completed yet.

"Hello?" Link yelled, as the constant and loud whispering voices were starting to get on his nerves. In front of him was a giant table, sitting in the middle of the floor. Chairs were going around it as if people had meetings here. In the middle of the table itself was another miniature tower, it looked exactly like the one Link was in right now, even the fallen walls, rooms, the dust settling on the furniture and even the caved-in blocked door on the first floor. Link had a great memory, which made him remember all the rooms and floors he scouted. Making a comparison with the miniature tower, he couldn't help but frown. "Weird!" He thought. As he examined the miniature perfect replica, shivers ran down his spine, making him back away from it.

"What the hell is that?" he muttered as he slowly approached it again. On the floor of the room he flew into from outside, he saw small footsteps. They moved around the room before leaving.

<Were those your footsteps?>

"Impossible, right?"

[No not really! Magic is an arcana art, filled with mysteries]

"Then how is this possible?" Link questioned. "A kind of cloning spell? Or was this replica built normally and then some spell linked it with the tower?" Link kept thinking. "But then it should have been cast a long time ago.. I can understand the furniture since it most likely had the same spell cast on it too, but then what about the dust?"

<What about it?>

"Dust accumulated with time.. The tower wasn't built with it, was it?" Link continued. "So that excludes a cloning and some kind of linking spells"

[What if it's not the tower itself, but the area the tower is in?]

"But then where is the outside in the replica?" Link asked. "Was it aimed at the whole area but only the tower's replica was created?"

[Or maybe it is the whole area, but not that far.. Like a few centimetres away from the tower, that's all]

"Seems most likely it" Link said. "So do you sense your Fragment anywhere here?"

[I do.. I think it's that small hexagon looking thing on the replica's roof]

"Alright" Link spoke as he jumped onto the table and went for it, that was when Zero asked a question that made him freeze.

<What happened to the voices?!>

Hearing her question, that was when Link realized.. It was quiet.

When someone is inside a scary place, or has some fear. Like when one turns the light off and runs upstairs and it feels like someone or something was chasing him or watching him.. That kind of illusion.. Unfortunately wasn't happening to Link, as he could sense them.. All around him.

On the table, sitting in the chairs, standing around. And all of them were watching him closely.

'Fuck!' Link took a deep breath, as he tried to act like nothing was wrong, but a voice spoke right next to his ear.

"You .Finally. Realized!"

Wosh!

The moment that voice reached his ear as he felt like the person had only a couple of centimetres of distance between them, Link did not hesitate to activate Recollection, appearing in the room he first entered.

"What the hell?" He muttered. "I was aiming to leave!"

WOSH!

Without a second of delay, he floated and dashed with godly speed towards the open gap.

BOOM!

As if he smashed into an indestructible wall, Link bounced back with broken bones, settling in the dusty floor. He lost consciousness.

With a body like Link's, it was not easy to knock him out, even if he was hit by a meteor. But with the lightning boost, Link slammed right into an invisible barrier with all of his might.

<LINK!>

[LINK.. WAKE UP!]

Both Ora and Zero yelled for him to wake up, as transparent figures appeared on the other side of the door. They looked lifeless as they stared at him lying there, slowly approaching.

The room wasn't small, but there was no more space as lifeless corpses filled it. They circled Link, staring at him.

"Another. One" One of them spoke, letting out a cold and flat voice, as if nothing in this world mattered to him.

"A. Kid"

"Fool"

"He. Is. Hurt"

They just kept speaking, not showing any emotions or movement. They only watched.

Unmoving.
