The Beach (4)

In a dark cave red spent 20 minutes preparing, this is the first time he feels this much pressure from a monster, he checked all his elixirs and resources, summoned his skeletons and used all the defensive and offensive augmentation spells. The breathing coming from that lit room didn't stop and still sent chills down Red's spine.

Now that he finally had everything ready, red stepped forward while using a stealth skill and sneaked his way to the room. the closer he got the more his senses dulled from the smell, but he ignored it and kept moving closer and closer, the breathing got louder and louder. the moment red peeked in he gasped and took a step back.

What he saw in there was surprising. a 9 foot creature covered in worms and rotting flesh, it looked like multiple rotting corpses were merged together, it had several arms protruding from its body, 3 heads on top but some were on its stomach and back half sticking out. worms and some other types of insects were moving around in some holes inside the creature. Red was repulsed by the monster and didn't know what to do, so he decided to stay at the back while attacking with spells and keep on summoning sols.

Red took a deep breath and walked in, the creature didn't notice him yet being partially invisible, it was a skill red bought from the system, he found it interesting and useful.

After he went to the back of the room, he signaled both sols which were waiting for orders at the entrance to attack it. without any fear they charged at it, swinging their swords and surprisingly for red, they used some basic swordsmanship skills. Sols used what looked like 'Slash' a skill red is familiar with after trading it with someone, it uses the warriors aura/mana to strengthen the weapon and deal great damage leaving some of the aura on the injury causing bleeding and extreme pain.

SLASH!

The monster didn't manage to react on time and before he could, both sols managed to leave many deep injuries on its body, but no blood nor a physical reaction from the monster was seen, it was like it didn't care about the skeletons attacks.

BAM!

With one swing from its deformed arms, it managed to attack both sols at the same time, it was so fast that it caused air to move around the room rapidly. Red was stunned, even with all the augmentation spells and enhancements he couldn't see the attack, red got worried and summoned sols again, like the last time they attacked and stabbed at it, unfortunately the results were the same. The creature moved his arm up and was about to swing.

BOOM!

A mana bullet was released by red and hit the creature right at its side, causing it to be pushed back 3 feet. Sols never stopped attacking it, the creature didn't understand what was happening, red could tell from its movements that it was looking around, trying to find the source of the attack but to no avail. Red was still using his stealth skill and was hiding well.

The same happened again, the thing tried to attack sols but Red stopped it with a mana bullet sending it another 3 feet back.

"Found you, little rat." the creature roared, all the heads spoke at the same time.

"What?" goosebumps .... the sheer disfigurement of the voice alone made red shake, but he now knew that it had intelligence.

Since it didn't know, it repeated the same thing and spotted the direction the mana bullet came from. it turned and looked at red with all it's heads, some had terrifying smiles with their cheeks torn, others started screaming. then it started charging at him.

BOOM!

Red barely dodged in time, but his face paled after he saw the wall. a giant hole was created by its sheer strength. 2 seconds later it came out, looking around and finding out that red had moved to the other side of the room.

The attacks from reds mana bullets didn't stop. Mana bullet is the strongest attack red has, he bought other ones from the guild and shop. He threw them at the creature too.

"FIREBALL"

"WATER BULLETS"

"STONE SMASH"

"MANA BULLET"

"MAGMA WAVE"

Red was nervous, the attacks from sols were ineffective and healed already, and none of his attacks were leaving permanent damage on it. the creature couldn't attack but wasn't hurt as well. Then suddenly.

BAM!

A hole appeared on its body, leaving a golden trail that led to the other side.

"I knew it, this'll work then." Red cheered, this was another skill he bought from the system, it was in the category of holy spells and red has been fighting a lot of undead so he bought it just in case before going in.

"HOLY ARROW" a bright golden light took the shape of an arrow appeared next to red, it looked like it could destroy anything in its path, the light was bright and calming, the corroded flesh and surfaces around it were instantly purified and turned back to normal.

Red spammed the attack. Finally there were some results, the creature took a defensive stance and roared. it was quite agile for its size and started dodging. Red was running out of mana and had to drink an elixir, he threw the last arrow and quickly grabbed one from his inventory and chugged it.

"Back to it th..." red couldn't finish his sentence. when he looked up, the hideous thing stood in front of him, laughing.

"DIRTY HUMAN" roared and swang its arms so fast that when they collided with reds body, even with the defensive spells, bones were heard cracking.

BAM!

Red was sent flying and hit the wall destroying it. he fell and tried to stand up but he coughed blood and fell back down. He started using healing touch while observing the creature. the wounds left by the holy arrow were healing, it walked over slowly while all the heads were giggling. it was nightmarish.

"FLASH"

Before it could reach red, he disappeared in a white flash of light. The monster was confused and started looking around.

"I'm right here, FUCKER" Red roared "GODS DECENT"

BOOM!

Red punched out, at the same time a golden transparent hand appeared and slammed into the creature sending it flying. flesh and bones flew everywhere. Before Red went into the room, he remembered a powerful holy spell he saw at the shop. When he was down and healing himself, he quickly opened shop and bought it.

Gods Decent : A skill may only be used by god's children, if used by a mortal its power depends on how much HP is provided. (Level MAX / Active).

This skill was expensive, red sold all of the equipment he looted until now and even then he spent all his money on it. After using 'Flash' to teleport away and 'Gods Decent' red was low on both mana and health. He drank mana elixirs and healed using 'Healing touch' which got him back to full. but he felt extremely tired for some reason, he didn't understand why since all his stats were good.

ROOOAAARRR!

A loud and ear piercing roar came from the creature's spot, dust was everywhere and red couldn't see how much damage he dealt to the thing.

WOSH!

The creature rushed out of the smoke running towards red. with a shocked expression, red didn't understand how that thing didn't die yet, it looked thinner and with a lot of injuries and broken bones.

"GODS DECENT" red yelled... but nothing happened, suddenly.

'Users spiritual energy has been consumed'

"What?" Red didn't understand, it was his first time hearing about this spiritual energy. He didn't have time to be distracted, that thing might be injured and thinner but it was still dangerous, in a few seconds it reached red and raised its arm.

Red was terrified, he couldn't do anything. every time he tries to use a skill, the same message appears.

"FUCK" he thought to himself. there was nothing else he could do but raise a guard with his arms and hope for the best.

ROAR!

With another roar the monster was about to smash its arm into red. He closed his eyes waiting for it.

BOOM!

A gray blur smashed into the creature, and punched it. a blue-ish energy consumed the spot where the punch landed turning it into dust, removing a big chunk out of the monster.

Red opened his eyes, when he looked up he saw a tall man in silver armor standing in front of him. He felt like a mountain standing between him and the monster, giving red a sense of security.

"Are you ok kid?" the man spoke without looking back, his voice was a little deep and manly.

"Yeah. who are you?" asked red, he couldn't use his skills anymore and he was wary of everything.

"Don't worry, i'll take care of it. you've done enough." the man continued "I'm impressed"

WOSH!

After finishing his sentence, the man disappeared and appeared in front of the creature. with lightning fast speed, he swung his sword and cut the thing into many pieces. A glowing stone became visible, the moment he saw it. his sword cut it in half destroying it.

"You ok?" a voice spoke from behind red, he looked back and saw a woman in leather armor with a giant bow on her back. she smiled at red, she looked average but her smile was attractive. "We're from the hunters guild, we're backup" she smiled again.

"Yeah, i'm fine." Red said while looking around, there were 2 more people behind the woman. they were men, one wore leather armor with daggers at his side, and the other wore light chain armor with a sword at his side. They stood there on guard looking around.

"You did well kid, we didn't find a single undead on our way here, you really cleaned up well." the man in the silver armor walked towards red.

"The necromancer is still alive" red spoke.

"He should be in that room, let's see this through then." said the man.

Red was a bit startle with their appearance, but he understood that the people he saved must have sent backup to help him. they came right in time he thought.

The group walked forward, reaching a door. the man reached and opened it.

They peeked in, but found out that it looked like a normal bedroom. a bed made from hay, a desk with a lot of papers and books with a chair in front of it. at the corner of the room, a man in a black robe and undead energy surrounding him, was crouching.

He looked at the group and was about to say something.

WOOSH!

An arrow flew from behind red, and went through the man in the black robes head. Red was a bit shocked by it but he knew that that man must have been the necromancer.

"We can't risk it. he could have used a spell or a curse." the woman spoke.

"This was easier than I thought," said one of the men at the back.

"Yeah. so you're red right? where did you come from" the man in silver armor turned to red and asked

Red didn't answer straight away. He thought for a bit and came up with something "I don't know." He said "I woke up around here, i couldn't remember anything and just happened by this cave."

The party stayed silent for a bit, then the man in silver armor spoke again "You saved my people, so I won't force you to answer if you don't want to. Let's see if there's anything useful around here and leave."

Other than the books and the robe the man wore, nothing else was of value.

Red got the loot from the creature and from the man as well. He didn't understand why but he thought that since this dungeon was something the system assigned to him, anything killed here will be looted by him. This was useful information.

Surprisingly, red leveled up 4 times, which is a big achievement. He didn't understand why this dungeon was this difficult but he thought about a reason.

The quest he received only told him to kill the necromancer, but red killed every undead in the cave which he was awarded for.
