The Bandits Camp!

Link sat in his room with stacks of coins in front of him. He only used what he needed and saved the rest. Until he could be considered rich in this place.

"I got 263 GC, 630 SC and 500 BC. At this rate it's going to take a long time to get the 10 000 Gold needed for the test" Link muttered.

<We need to think of another way. You got more from the goblins cave than what you'd get from the Guild in a week's work>

Link put everything back in his Inventory and sat down.

"We get a decent reward for the bandits. Should we take down their base?" Link asked.

<I don't think we'll be able to do it alone. We'll most likely find some powerful bastards with them, or they wouldn't have survived until now. It's a risk Link, but we can think of something>

"Like what? Poison?" Link thought.

<That's an idea. We can poison their food and water then wait for the Exp Points>

"Sounds like a plan, but we should prepare for when that fails"

<Don't worry, i'll think of something. Until then go ask around about their location, get the strongest and most undetectable poison you can find>

"I'm on it"

Link got all the information he could get from the guild, and every person that had any contact with the Bandits. He managed to figure out where they might have taken camp.

South east from the City, there was an old abandoned farm that was burnt down by a Fire Creature. The owner asked for help but the Guards got there a bit too late and found everybody dead, so after killing the Creature the farm had no owner and was left like that for years, until the Bandits took over.

The City Lord knew of this, he sent a squadron to wipe them out but they never heard from them again.

It was surprising how a group of trained guards lost to these bandits, but since then the City Lord did not want to risk sending anymore of his people and focused on the City's defense.

From what Link managed to learn from some of the Merchants and Adventurers that had some form of contact with the Bandits, was that they were too organized for a group of thugs. They said that they seemed to be separated into two groups. One was of the main group that came to this region and the other group was formed of the bandits and outlaws that joined them after.

<Something seems off Link. We have to be careful>

Link bought a very powerful poison from the Guild. It was named the 'Ground Poison' because of the Creature it was harvested from. The Creature looked like a mole with dark claws. One scratch from such a fiend and your organs seize to function after a few seconds. It is not an aggressive Creature so people mostly hunt it using traps only, they are too afraid to get too close.

Link looked around for some scattered bandits to get their Uniform, and he succeeded. Link killed 4 Bandits, cut the emblem of three of them to sell to the Guild and took the Uniform of the forth one.

"Everything should be ready now" Link said, going into his room. Washing the Uniform he got removing all the blood stains and dirt it had on it, then went to sleep.

Link's plan was simple. He wanted to move when it was dark, so he got some sleep before heading out.

At 11 pm, he was outside of the City looking like a Bandit. He had 'Shadow Walk' on. It made him undetectable, especially after he added 3 Skill Points into it.

Wosh!

Link ran towards the farm. He had everything he needed. From his throwing Knives to his bow and a pouch full of arrows he recently bought.

An hour later, Link saw smoke and lights coming from up ahead. He finally made it.

The grass was overgrown around the farm. The Bandits set up tents and wooden walls around the barn, house and field.

From what Link saw, all the information he received was accurate. There were two types of Uniforms. The one he usually saw, just like the one he was wearing and another with the same emblem but made of better quality and color. It was black, made of very good materials.

"They look more like Soldiers than Thugs" Link thought to himself. He saw that the camp was separated. Near the barn and field were the loud and obnoxious group of thugs, probably the real bandits, while in the house and around it were the quiet and organized group of well disciplined people in Bandit uniforms.

<The City Lord probably knew of this. I'm guessing this is some sort of an attempt at a takeover>

"I agree. In most kingdoms, the law prohibits Cities and towns from having any aggressive behavior aimed towards each other" Link continued "So even if these people lose, they would be considered as a group of bandits, that's all. I wonder which force sent them"

<Why didn't the City Lord inform the Royal Family of this?>

"Like i said, these guys are considered bandits, nothing more and nothing less. If the Lord of a City asks for help in dealing with a group of mere Bandits, his reputation will take a fall"

<So should we just walk in?>

"No, let's look around first. We need to figure out where they kept their supplies" Link muttered.

With 'Shadow Walk' he managed to go around the farm with ease. He went around the barn and field, then got closer to the house. That was when an arrow was shot right underneath his feat.

"This is the first and last warning. If any of you dirty scoundrels even think of getting close you'll be kill" A voice spoke from the house. Link looked up, seeing a woman with a beautifully crafted red bow. Her eyes were yellow, while her ears were like a dog.

<Let's go back for now Link. Thank the gods we got a Uniform just in case someone saw us>

"Damn it" Link turned and walked back. His 'Shadow Walk' did not work on her, and she saw through him. With her yelling though, it caught the attention of the Bandits near the barn.

Link had no choice but to disable his skill and pretend to be one of them.

<I told you we'll find some powerful enemies in here, you should be careful from now on. They probably have their eyes on you now>

Link sat on a log, far from the others, that was when a group of 5 approached him.

"Hey brat, you're new here?" An old man asked. His belly and beard made him look like Santa Claus. The people behind him were 3 old men and 1 young man.

"Yeah" Said Link.

"They pay us well and we get to do what we want. Their only rule is that we do not bother them, so don't go poking your nose in where you don't belong kid" The young man in the group spoke.

"Take it easy Kelvin. He said he's new, and he's just a kid" One of the old men spoke, he then looked at Link and continued "Don't mind him. You want to come with me? My tent is big enough for the two of us" He smiled.

Link's look changed. He looked at the man with disdain and said "No need, i'm fine"

The group laughed "You were rejected Lee"

"This brat is acting like he has a choice" Lee frowned. He stepped forward with his sword in his hand "Come or i will behead you ri…"

Katcha!

5 heads flew into the air. Link moved swiftly and put each of the bodies inside his Inventory quickly. He looked around, seeing that nobody noticed.

"Pedophiles, are you fucking kidding me" Link muttered.

<You shouldn't have done that>

"I know. She's still looking in my direction" Link muttered, looking towards the house. The woman was still staring at him from the top window. Her eyes shook when they locked with Link's.

<Should we just go on a rampage and kill a few before running away?>

"No. Let's stick to the plan" Link muttered. He sat there for a bit, his eyes scanning through his surroundings "There" He suddenly whispered.

<Is that where they hide their food supplies?>

"It looks like it, but probably those are the supplies that belong to this group only. From the way that bitch spoke to me it seemed like she was repulsed. I don't think they would keep their food around these people" Link whispered. He looked at the containers and bottles covered by a layer of cloth. People grabbed a couple and were setting up a fire.

<They're planning on cooking, they got rum and beer. This is our chance to take out at least this group>

"Agreed. We'll think of how to take care of the others later" Link muttered as he walked towards the giant containers of alcohol.

His Uniform and looks were convincing. He wore a rug around his face to hide what he looked like as he slithered between people. He swiftly poured a little in each container, then moved to the cooking pot and put what was left in the bottle in.

"Done. Let's blend in" Link thought to himself. He sat near a group and joined in their conversation.

These thugs did not seem to be much smarter than animals. They were vulgar and with no care about their surroundings. They put too much trust into the main group. Since Link sneaked in using his 'Shadow Walk' the Scouts and people that were keeping an eye out did not see him go in. It was only when he decided to explore the other side of the camp when the woman noticed him. But she did not think he was an intruder.

She was one of the Wolffolk. They had special eyes that saw through stealth skills. But she didn't mean to do that, and did not notice that Link used a skill in the first place. To her it looked normal.

She saw him kill the group of 5 and hide their bodies, but she did not think much of it. She heard the conversation they had so she thought of it as an appropriate fate for them. She was intrigued by Link though and kept her eyes on him.

Luckily for him, his actions went unnoticed. And the night passed by with the group drinking and celebrating. That was when messages started to repeatedly appear in front of Link.

<Bandit Killed>

<400 Exp Has Been Granted>

These two messages appeared one after the other. As the Bandits started choking and falling one by one.

Link pretended the same thing happened to him and fell behind a tree log.

<What are you doing?>

"I have to finish what i started. The other group have helmets on. I should be able to do the same thing to them as well" Link whispered.

<We've done enough. Let's leave for now and come back another day>

"I need to at least get my hands on their armor"
