Power Level!

"I hate this place already" Link walked out of the Armor Shop, wearing a black Leather Armor that fit him quite well.

<What did you expect? Enchantments are not cheap, especially 2 at once.>

"Yeah, ok" Link muttered as he was walking back "What about the Leveling Up issue, did you figure out something?"

<What? You're gonna have to wait longer Link i don't know anything about this place how do you expect me to figure something out that quick>

Link went around and bought some shoes, pants and a few shirts, they were good quality clothes and that ended with him only having 42 Points in his Card.

<Are you a 15 year old girl? Stop shopping you're gonna need the Points>

"Sorry, it has been a while since i did this, this whole place reminds me of home" Link got back to his dorm room, he put all his new clothes in his inventory.

Ding!

"What was that? The Alarm?" Link was checking his Status Screen when a noise rang in his room, it was a bit different from the usual morning alarm which confused him.

When Link looked at the door, he saw a package sitting there.

"How did that get in here?" He approached it, the box was white in color with the Eye symbol in the middle. "Well that's creepy" Link muttered.

Moving it to his desk, Link opened it, finding a number of Items inside. There was a book titled 'The Elements', a grey colored Ring with a small purple Gem in the middle and what looks like a Map.

"What is this?" Link muttered to himself, he lifted the Ring first, checking it.

<Put it on>

"What? Why?" Lin asked.

<Are you stupid? These Items are from the Academy, you were given the Ring to wear it, i can detect some Magic Energy from that Gem>

"What's with their creepy packaging then. Whatever" Link just put the Ring on when a small screen appeared in front of him. On the screen there was something written on it.

'Student Link. Congratulations on your enrollment in our Academy with a perfect score.

This Ring will be a form of Identification, protection and storage, You may not enter the Main building without the Ring or you will be killed by the Energy Field.

About the protection, it activates when you're in critical condition, our medical and security staff will get the signal of your location and move to help.

The storage is as it sounds, the Ring contains the Space Element, creating a small room inside, you'll be able to use it to hide your things. With our modification, you're the only one that will be able to access the space.

The Book you found in the package is what you'll need for your first class tomorrow.

The Map, as your Instructor explained, is what you will need to traverse the school, you must not be tardy to any of your classes or there will be consequences.

Work hard and we are excited to see you grow.'

"Wow!" Link stared at the screen in surprise, when he finished reading, it vanished.

<Let's check the Map>

Opening it, Link saw a complex but detailed drawing of the First Floor region. The First Year classes will be taking place there after all.

"We're definitely going to get lost" Link started studying the Map.

<No problem> Zero said <Put it in the Inventory>

"Ok" Link did as he was told, when a message appeared.

<Map of the Rechanguard Academy's First Floor: Learn? Yes / No>

"What? You can do this too?" Link quickly pressed Yes, when another Tab appeared. "I finally get the Map Tab from my old System, but i thought it only worked in Dungeons"

<It works in both, you never used a Map in your old world so it was blank>

"This is awesome" Link said, opening it. Just like his old system, the Map was circular in shape with the Map layout.

"This looks just like the Map i just had, what's the difference?" Link asked.

<Well, now i can just guide you, check this out>

Zero seemed to have done something, because the moment she finished speaking, some sort of Arrow appeared, directing somewhere.

Link smiled, he knew exactly what that was and he was glad.

Moving on to the book, Link opened it and started reading. Since Link never learned proper control of the Elements because the system did most of the work, he was confused by most of what he read.

"I'm so going to fail" He muttered to himself.

<Sorry, i can't help you with this one>

With a sigh, Link started studying that day. He was smart and good at studying, he was just lazy. He slowly went through the Book and understood the basics, even though he still had a lot to go through, today's progress was not bad.

In the morning, to the sound of the usual Alarm Link woke up and got ready.

"I'm nervous" He said.

<There is no need for you to be, you have me after all>

Link checked himself in the mirror one more time, he wore his uniform now, it was like a school uniform but without a tie, just black pants, a white shirt and a black jacket with the Eye emblem on the left of his chest.

"Alright, let's go"

After meeting up with Tom and Fei, they headed towards the Castle. Upon entrance each Student held their Map attempting to find their Class.

Link understood that there were different classes for each group. After entering from the main door, there was a giant board with what class number each lesson will be held in. Link remembered the name of the book he got yesterday and looked for 'The Elements' Class.

After finding it, Zero guided him there easily.

It was a lecture hall, full of seats.

"We're the first ones here" Link thought, he headed down and sat in the front row. He was already ignorant to a lot about magic so he didn't slack off. If he was going to do this then he was going to do it right.

"You're here fast, not bad" A professor stepped into the class from a door near the board, it was Tommy.

"I'm just good with directions." Link bowed slightly.

"From what i saw in the List Test, Directions are not the only things you're good at" He continued "A lot of the Professors are expecting great things from you"

"A lot?" Link asked.

"Haha" Tommy laughed "The first year Test is the thing that helps differentiate between each Student, so a lot of professors tend to watch, you have the highest score of your peers so you grabbed a lot of attention"

Link didn't know if that was a good or bad thing, which worried him.

After a minute, students started walking inside. Tom and Fei didn't follow Link, they wanted to find the class themselves.

"Hey Link" Fei sat next to him with Tom joining a bit later.

"Ok, times up" Said Tommy as he was looking at his wrist "Now all who enter will have their Points deducted. Let's get started with our class.

The Elements are the pillars to every Mage, without their support we would not be able to perform even the simplest of Chore Magic, Most of you must have been educated by the Mages hired by your families, but that doesn't mean you can slack off."

Tommy started explaining every Element's effects, when combined or used separately. Link paid attention, the lecture helped him understand a lot more than what he studied yesterday.

"The system is really useful" He thought to himself. From what Tommy explained, for a spell like Blink or anything else, The Elements must be combined correctly with each other to create the right amount of Energy for the spell to work without issues.

After class was over, The students were instructed to head to the Gym, and so they did. There Link noticed that the Number of Students were a lot larger than usual. "Did they get everyone to come here?" He thought, looking around.

"Link!" Suddenly, Link heard someone call for him from the crowd.

"Is that Samuel?" He said, moving towards the boy waving at him. "What the hell, where have you been?" Link asked.

"I could ask you the same thing, our groups were separated and we had our tests later than you guys. I tried to look for you in the Town but it was big and too many people were walking around so I couldn't find you" Samuel said.

They chatted for a bit, talking about their experiences when they got here, for Samuel it was more peaceful then with Link's. His group were mostly Commoners and with Samuel skills he managed to pass the List Test easily. Link introduced him to Tom and Fei, and the four of them got along quickly.

The Gym was loud with chatter and noises, when suddenly it all went quite.

"Now can everyone hear me?" A soft voice spoke, it sounded like it belonged to a little Girl.

Standing near the doors with 2 professors was a short Girl with white hair, she held a hammer in her hand. Link knew that she was a Dwarf.

Dwarves are a race known for their strength and craftsmanship, In every Guild or Faction you will find one of them taking care of the Crafting.

"Today we'll be testing your Mana Levels and Elemental affinities." She spoke while the Professors put down a circular orb, it floated by itself. "My name is Abby and i will be your future Blacksmithing/Enchanting Professor."

All the students bowed, some started whispering.

"Is that THE Abby? I can't believe we'll be learning from her"

"That is so cool, i can't wait"

"Who is she?"

"You don't know who Abby is? She's the Royal Craftswoman, she takes care of all the artifacts and all the equipment the Royal family uses."

"She must be pretty good then"

"Pretty good?.. You should shut up"

"Quiet all of you" Abby said "If i call your name, please step forward and touch the Orb."

Abby called for the first student, as he approached he put his hand on the Orb, when suddenly it lit up, revealing a series of numbers.

The numbers stopped at '4.3'.

"Ok, next" She yelled.

Link understood that the Numbers go from 1 to 20 which is the Power Level of the students. The Orb is some sort of Detection spell imprint, set to measure the Students Talents.

Slowly the Numbers of students started to thin, when Link was called. He stepped forward, and touched the Orb.

The average Power Level for First Years is 5 and the best of the best will be around 8 or 9, That is the school Hierarchy.

Abby was getting bored by now, the highest number she saw was a 7. As impressive as that was she was an Elite, a Level 5 Mage, she did not care about this Test or these Students.

"Isn't that the kid from the Test?" She thought to herself as Link was walking up to the Orb "Let's see what he gets"

Wosh!

The Orb lit up, forcing Link to squint. He couldn't see anything, but he heard Gasps all over.

"What happened?" He thought. The light cleared up, when Link opened his eyes, he saw a Number that surprised Even himself.

'20'
